Hey everyone!
First off, sorry for not posting an update last week. Since I spent most of my week away, there wasn’t much to share. Even when I got back, I focused on other tasks instead of 3D work, so I figured skipping the update made sense.
Now, let’s dive into this week’s progress!
After returning from my trip on Friday the 17th, I spent the weekend coding
Day 1 of Episode 3 into the game files. I’ve added all the animations, choices, and assets into the folders, and I’m thrilled with how it turned out. It was a pretty big day in the story, so finishing it feels like a huge milestone.
As for
Day 2, it’s almost fully rendered—only the 20+ animations left to render (Yeah, I was a busy bee). I put in a ton of work last week to get this far, and once the animations are done, I’ll move on to coding
Day 2 as well. This new workflow is still a bit of an experiment for me, but I have a feeling future me will be very thankful for it a few months from now.
This past week, I split my time between my
secret project and finishing the
LEWD scene I’ve been working on. Let me tell you, balancing these two tasks hasn’t been easy. Working on a lewd scene always adds an extra layer of challenge, but I’m making progress! On the bright side, I’m already
40% done with my secret project, which means I’ll soon be able to focus entirely on Episode 3 of
Law School.
Also, I joined a fun little contest with
TakoYuh and
BatmanSid to see how many renders we could create in one sitting. Sadly, I lost because they’re better bum devs than I am, but I still managed to complete
51 renders in a single day! Since it was for a lewd scene, that’s a whole lot of renders to add to the project.
I had to come up with a custom render with their characters, so here goes:
Next up, I sent a bunch of character models to
Terminal Resistor (AKA “Dr. Skinz”) for reworking. I don’t have any side-by-side comparisons ready to share yet, but I’ll include some in a future update once I have more renders. The improvements are already noticeable—characters like Alan and Sana, who had some serious skin issues, look infinitely better now.
Now, let’s break down the numbers for this update:
- 820 static story images
- 49 animations
- 16 scenes fully written
The animation count has really skyrocketed, and I created
118 renders last week, which I’m pretty happy with considering how busy I was. While it’s a bit lower than my usual pace, I’ll take it as a win given the circumstances.
Looking ahead, next week will focus heavily on creating 3D assets for
Day 3 of the episode. If all goes well, I’m hoping to hit around
200 renders for the week.
That’s all for now! Time to get back to work. Wishing you all a great week ahead!
Cheers,
MisterMaya
