Search for it. I think you said something about Ubuntu. But, seriously. Search for it. Or was I working helping someone out to get it going in Ubuntu? I don't remember, but, find it. I want to know.
Fine, I'll look... we both know you weren't "asking for a friend" :ROFLMAO: :p. Hell, I can't even remember what VN it was for but yeah, I'm sure I can find it somewhere (unless it became one of yours or my deleted posts... I don't remember us being too rude so I reckon that convo is still there somewhere). I'll do some digging after a refill.... gotta keep my priorities straight...

Shit... gotta keep digging... you were on Arch here... I'll find it...

Edit: Found what I think I remember... it was via PM though. You stated you were running modified Arch but had installed Ubuntu to help figure out what was what (a brief snippet):

" So, people on Linux are having issues with the your 'Off the Record' mod. I installed Ubuntu as per a couple people and the game works fine without the mod, as soon as you install the mod, the game just flickers and then nothing. I run Arch, but, I have modified the shit out of it and it works fine for me. ".... (yada, yada)

It's all this French I'm dealing with in this other VN... it's obviously fucking my head up so my accuracy is now below 100% :ROFLMAO:

Leap of Faith is my newest fave visual novel, dear god am I impressed!

I asked for porn with a really good interactive story and likable compelling characters, and dear god does this game deliver!

It's got a ton of really cool animated scenes too

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but the mod does not seem to want to work.
I extracted the original game. I installed the OG song mod, then applied the DLC patch, then dropped the mod into the game folder. It pops up on the main menu but grayed out and says not installed properly in the bottom right. I haven't had issues following directions for other mods / walkthroughs, hate to request help but would like to have the best experience on my first playthrough.

I don't know if SanchoMod works with the Drifty DLC, which itself is a walkthrough mod (along with extra notes and commentary), but if it does, you'd have to install a clean version of the game, add the DLC, THEN install the SanchoMod, but wait for Sancho to respond before actually doing anything, 'cause I don't think their compatible.

Good morning. I'm certain SanchoMod wouldn't be compatible with the DLC since those scripts would overwrite one-another (the mod was last revised prior to the DLC being available). To summarize you're choices would be VN+DLC or VN+SanchoMod. If you are getting the notification that the mod is not installed correctly, guaranteed success is to install the mod inside a clean/unaltered new install of the VN as suggested in the post above. It's possible that the DLC is triggering SanchoMod to be pissy as well... I'll have to check all that out once I get back to my other studio and update my now 10-month old Steam acct (limited bandwidth where I'm currently located).

Thanks for the feedback; when I say DLC I am referring to the OG music content and the patch with it. Sounds like that's not compatible at the moment - I'll try to do Sancho on a clean install, then see if the OG music lets me install successfully or not.
Thanks for the quick response though, if the music doesn't work then I may have to try it once without Sanchomod and then install the mod for subsequent playthroughs.

You do know there's a version of SanchoMod that is the original OG music variant. There's a another mod that basically copied what I did in theory, so know that thousands have used SanchoMod with it's own OG music variant install both Steam and non-Steam. See the OP for complete instructions.

Yeah that's what I was trying to follow, I think my screwup was trying to do the OG music mod with your OG music mod, I thought your mod would require that one separately.

Indeed. That other "mod" has caused more than a bit of confusion for folks. Anyhow just make another post and myself or someone will chime in and assist to get you going proper. Regards.

I'll start by saying this is one of my favorite titles and I monetarily support the dev (under a different pseudonym). Because of this I took exhaustive time and care in coding to allow the mod to get out of the way during those "dramatic" moments and step in with glory during the "highs". It's not perfect and will be refined over time but I hope you'll agree it's a very good start.

The mod in it's current state is one of the most advanced SanchoMod ports I've submitted publicly. You see Drifty gets much inspiration from PinkCake and from that inherits some rather unorthodox scripting. This was the most challenging but seeing how I've already developed on PinkCake's work before I at least had ways to deal with it. Because of this the original code is not the most efficient so I took the liberty of cleaning up some of the code, mostly for my own benefit to make the mod port easier. Anyway, enough of that boring blabbering, let's dig in:

The main newest feature sets in the mod (for those already accustomed to SanchoMod) are the following:
  1. SanchoDiaBox toggle (found in the Options screen). Seamlessly changes from OEM dialogue box to SanchoMod custom. New bonus feature - adjust dialogue font size and dialogue box opacity while in game via [Alt+(ArrowKeys)].
  2. QuickMenu alignment (found in the Options screen). New bonus feature - The alignment changes dynamically depending on whether the OEM or Sancho dialogue box is on screen.
  3. SaveDescription toggle (found in the Options screen)
  4. SanchoAlerts (isolated custom notifications that are completely separated from RenPy's default notifications, toggled on/off along with the normal ChoiceGuide). New bonus feature - now receive alerts of potential scene/path splits as save marker points.
  5. SanchoGallery (improved efficiency and handling of isolated gallery, isolated MC renaming, improved start and ending screen transitions and more). New bonus feature - The "SanchoMod Menu" opacity slider (that normally controls the opacity of the MiniStat screen in-game) now controls the dialogue box opacity while in a scene replay. When back in-game it switches back to it's default of adjusting the MiniStat screen opacity. New bonus feature - Scene filters by character and/or scene type available as desired.
  6. SanchoCheats (found via the Options screen). Professionally and properly coded cheats that are rock-solid, including a reset button for stat changes that works intuitively and correctly every time. You asked for it, you got it...cheater.
  7. TaskGuide found on Page 1 of the MiniStat screen
I'll address each and other VN specific features in detail in this post (which is currently being drafted). I'll update this post periodically with those details and deep-dive into explanations as necessary.

Until then, please enjoy.

I'm playing and it doesn't appear that the music is playing during the game. I've gotten up to the burger shop with Chris and so far the only music I've heard was at the main menu, then whenever I enter the sanchomod menu option. Not sure what I did wrong but this was a fresh install and sanchomod only.

Did you have the music from the original version-7? You have to put those files into the game folder, and you have to get them separately -- they're not in the SanchoMod (too big) ... Somewhere in this forum there's a link to downloadable files, although not sure they're still active. But if you have a version of Chap 7 from before the music got stripped, the files are in there.

Edit: All the instruction for getting the music mod to work are on the OP as well.
