VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Leap of Faith [Ch. 8 v1.0.3] [DriftyGames]

This is at the moment my favourite AVN, though I won't lie to you, this is not the one to watch if you're interested mostly in the porn (what it does is great, but it's never the focus), so you probably will prefer to skip it then. Also, trigger warning: suicide topic, depression, the topic is not treated lightly so if you're not on your best moment it could easily be too much).

Storywise, it was gold, the characters all feel awesome, the way everything flows... It's a deep story, the developer certainly knows the issues treated here
Graphics most of the times are great, artistic, composition always nice, characters are specially well done almost all the time, and considering this was his first game and he learnt while doing this and had at first a really bad PC to work, you just have to admire what he did, you realize it's all that he actually cares about what he does. The only thing that really sometimes seems too odd is how, coming from someone that takes so much effort at everything, sometimes it has some really horrible textures in the background, like there are pixels the size of character's fingernails, but anyway, overall, that's just more surprising coming from someone that does that than something that really has some negative impact (I guess most people that are not into the technical element won't even notice it).

Replay value: well, almost all girls have practically a clearly separeted path that lasts more than half the chapters in the game, so I'll say it has a lot of that, and there are many different endings for each one also. And any of them is great on their own.

Music is great, at least if you download the original soundtrack patch, I will play some day the new version after the copyright issues, but haven't tried it yet.

If it also helps you decide, just say that the first thing I did after playing it here for free was going to GoG and buying the special edition with commentaries and walkthrough, and replay it all again (not using "ctrl" to skip even, completely reading it all again and not even to change the path, just following almost the same one I did the first time, just with some small corrections to get 100% of the story for my chosen LI).

Calling this masterpiece a "game" would be an insult. It's not a game, it's an experience. This entire piece feels like a straight-up novel, written by a bestselling author. The plot does feel a bit, typical in some parts, like I'm reading a teen romance novel written for 15-year-old girls, but the way the plot unravels itself is absolutely amazing. There is a serious message in this entire thing that really separates itself from the other porn VN's on this site. This really puts the word "novel" in visual novel.

The dev's music choice is absolutely top-notch. I have genuinely been introduced to some bangers through this which I never would've stumbled across otherwise.

The daz3d models feel incredibly inferior compared to what this game is offering, and some characters felt like they were extremely out of place. The two main ones being the lesbians. They absolutely had no place in the story. Their plots were just thrown together without mind and they were ugly as shit ngl. Linda also felt out of place but I guess she had a reason for being there. But the two dykes had absolutely no reason to be there and were just thrown in there to add the feeling of a wide range of characters.

The only two main characters in this story are Cece and Lexi. Their stories were incredibly fleshed out and none of them felt lacking. It even looked like the dev put most of the effort into making their characters.

So in conclusion, this piece of art is an absolute masterpiece. I genuinely recommend everyone to give it a go. It is a bit on the long side considering it took me around a week to complete all paths, but that's alright. 11/10. GG.. Highly recommended.

I love that you can kick the lying ex out of the game.

My only criticism is you don't get an opportunity to confront Linda. MC brings her in to his house when she is desperate and she goes behind his back and reaches out to his ex. Not okay. Then they start dating and she starts keeping secrets from the MC like his ex did. Again uncool, but I'm being picky. Not enough to effect 5 out of 5stars from me.

Not gonna beat around the bush for long. This game got me ugly crying. Hard. Hard and ugly. That aside, it's a rollercoaster of nice, fun vibes, best buddies moments and then it sucker punches you and I loved every part of it.

I didn't try all the endings, even though the game makes it a bit clearer (with more scenes and emotions running wild) who would be the "main girl", but I enjoyed following other routes and still getting a nice ending, an absolute masterpiece and totally worth it to keep it around and play it every once in a while to experiment different routes.

If you enjoy some ups and downs the way life can be, I can assure you: You will like this game. Stop reading the reviews and download it now.

Warning: Slight Story Spoilers!

A part of me wants to give this 0 out of 5 for making me cry my eyes out two times (once in sadnessand once in happiness). But its a overall near perfect game. Robin seems a bit rushed, Kira character is a bit inconsitent. Otherwise the paths and characters are good. If Cece was the only main path I'd say this is a 11/10. Her story, character arc, the message about depression and suicide in a very relatable and realistic way. I dont see this as a porngame, this is just art, its a masterpiece I couldnt care less if there was no sexual content. I'm hoping Cece gets a standalone game like a prequel and sequel combined showing her traumatic event (razorblade event) and managing life and beeing a mom while beeing together with MC. Her mysterious personality and past but very likable and relatable character is one of if not the best I've ever seen in such a game. She's much like Bella (<3) from Summer's Gone.

If you are really interested in quality characters and romantic story and sexual content (which is still there) is not your priority it's most likely the best game out there. I never knew that a fictional story could impact me the way this one did.

Leap of Faith is your typical visual novel with a surprising amount of branching paths that will lock you out of content since here you can’t get all the girls. A mod to reveal the long term consequences is highly recommended. I don't have any problem with this type of vn but it's better to know the path you are getting, because I don't think vns are pleasant to replay. You are a good looking dude with a nice apartment and a non existing work that goes meeting random girls and starts progressing relationships with them alongside hanging out with your bro. Vns like this, for this genre, have the entire purpose of making the player feel emotionally attached to the girls while giving plenty of scenes covering different ground with different girls. It's not the case in Leap of Faith. The relationship part is indeed solid, there are plenty of talking and relationship progress with the girls that will make you care (or not) for them. The game has some very nice drama scenes, comedy scenes, emotional scenes etc, it's clear that care was put into making this. I was not expecting a scene with the guy cleaning the room with bunny slippers, but it made me laugh. Also, without a doubt Leap of Faith has the best bromance in a vn, Chris is just the best bro you could ever hope for. Sadly I think there are only two girls that actually look good, while the others are weird-looking or mediocre. Upon completion you get the scene gallery, and considering the game's size and eight chapters, the number of scenes with each girl is surprisingly low with very few different kinks explored. One would expect that a vn of this genre would be more focused on the genre it is designed for, but apparently Leap of Faith is much more about relationship and emotions than sexuality. It's a nice vn but I think it seriously lacks content for this specific genre, the models beside Cece and Lexi could be better, and there are huge sections about emotional drama that kills the mood. About the central element of a vn of this genre, killing the mood and spacing the “scenes” too far is a big problem, because the player will get impatient and start skipping the hundreds of dialog lines that are not teasing or predicting lewd actions, so albeit can be considered a decent work, Leap of Faith lacks the main purpose of being a vn of its genre.

can't remember ever seeing a game that evoked the full range of emotions in me, crying like a baby, happy and laughing like a world champion, sad and desperate as if my own partner has passed away. But, small spoiler, everything will be fine in the end.

Wish i could give more stars truely, this is absolutly the best game ive ever played.
I did start this game playing the Cece route and it blew my mind, did try other routes as well which was good to but nothing can really beat Cece route, it really is heavy subject and it will take you on a emotional ride.

The graphics are great so are the animations and music.

A fair warning this game can get your feelings very high, i am a grown man and still had tears in my eyes playing the Cece route, it truely is the best written story ive seen ever...period....and you can truely feel the chars and the writer must have this kind of story close to hes hearth in real life, atleast thats how good its been written, and its better then any AAA games as well.

Its also one of the few games i will never delete, and will play again.

It has multiple endings and choices that matters, you cant really ask for any more then that, each story is also great.

I would normaly give scores on diffrent things like story, graphics and so on but this is just 5/5 in everything.

I truely hope the creator will make another game, which i would love to support, its truely deserved...

This is a great game with good storytelling and a story that is not to long in it's telling.

The positives:
While linear the game pulls you in with a mostly serious story with some parts filled with humour to lighten the mood.

The cast for the most part is likeable and believable.

Most of the characters are good looking and easy on the eyes.

There are a lot of love interest to choose from 6 in total though there is a seventh that you can only get if you pick a certain one of the 6, 2 of the 6 are also already a lesbian couple to which the MC can join in or pick out one of them. It's also possible to hook up the MC's best bro with 3 of the LI's

The negatives:
Less then halfway through the game you have to pick and lock in your love interest and at this point you barely know some of them. The pairings are also restricted so it's impossible to pick and choose. It's also fairly clear that one of them is the canon/intended LI.

The past of the MC is made into a big deal in the story but nothing really comes out of it.

Because of the linear gameplay coupled with the locking in of LI's early it feels kind of weird with how the MC doesn't focus on their chosen LI and instead everything seems to mostly plays out the same just with no snu snu if their not the chosen LI.

All in all the game is good but it would probably have been better with a smaller cast of characters or at least less LI's maybe even just the one LI that is the clear main LI and just 1 or 2 rivals (gunning for either the LI or MC) to mess with the MC/player. Still I'll glady recommend this game to anyone looking for an eroge that is more focused on the story then the sex-scenes.

Most Games I do not read the Story, but after i noticed that this one has lots of funny conversations going on, i read it completely. And i love it!
It has lots of funny moments and dialogs.
I liked the opportunities and even the twist in the story was nicely done.

In the end i just regret, that there is no Harem Ending.
I can only emagine Lexi, Ceec, Holly and Steph waiting for me to come home and have ther way with me

PS: i am not so much a fan of "self destructive" girls like Kira, or the milf type like Robin.

Felt like a chore to play after some time, only Cece was interesting and hot and thats to be expected considering she feels (probably is) like the canon romance option here.

Not a fan of lesbian stuff in games and it doesnt help that Kira is really ugly compared to her partner Robin (Which, to be honest was dissapointed after sleeping with her and finding out about their whole thing together and open relation(?) kind of thing), felt like the dev just wanting to pander with the same old background LGBT story we all know with these two just to get brownie points and good reviews, could have done something much better with these two, like actually giving Robin some trouble with opening her business but nah just have MC go there and fix it in an instant by doing something dumb.


The childhood friend was okay but it felt like she was destined to be with your best friend (which is okay I guess, he is a cool guy)

The pop star appeareance is also kind of ugly when she is supposed to be the hottest girl on earth but is beaten by pretty sure every girl in this game but Kira. The friend of the popstar shouldve been romanceable.

The Ex Girlfriend has a cool story, that doesnt really make sense when you stop to think about it, but its a cool background for a AVN character I guess.

Cece was the girl that carried this game by far, I would recommend this game only to play her route and ignore every other girl.

Best NSFW game I've played.

Honestly, its so much more than a NSFW game, giving it that label feels like an injustice. Yeah, it has porn and its done great, with beautiful graphics and better animations than most in the genre, but tbh it was the last thing on my mind while playing.

Its truly a beautiful story with no weak-link characters. I found myself invested in all of them, even the ones not involved romantically. Its expertly written, seemingly having a near-perfect balance of levity and tragedy, making me both laugh and tear-up at plenty of parts. And while I only played through it once, I can tell just how different the paths branch from your choices, especially who you choose to make your main girl.

It also doesn't fall in to the traps a lot of NSFW games fall into writing-wise. In many games, you're forced to have interactions with characters your PC isn't sleeping with, and it can feel like a giant waste of time since you're not interested. But like I said with this game, I was invested in every character, for they're all so greatly written with their own stories to unfold. Also, a lot of NSFW games boast "this game is EXTREME. IT'LL BREAK YOU BECAUSE ITS JUST TOO REAL!!!" and then you get there and all the edgy nonsense feels forced and obnoxious. Again, not the case with this game. It deals with some pretty heavy subject matter, but its handled so believably and with great care. Such a great emotional ride.

Porn or not, just play it now if you're a fan of great narratives (And fantastic soundtracks. I wish I could buy or download it from somewhere). You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll have a great time! Can't wait to see more from this Developer.

I just really love the story. With those plots, relationships between chracters and cece's progress its really well writed. Also I really laughed when the funny scenes came out especially that chris and mc's "walking through plane" scene. But 10/10

Recommend...Just give it a shot but do remember to play to experience the story, not for the sex...I know it's a sex game but believe me, you will find much better sex games than this but will not find many games with a story like this or a character like Cece... Don't get me wrong though every character is great in this game but I just fell in love with Cece...is it weird? who cares Kira and Robin teach me that love knows no bounds.

I normally don't write reviews (first review on this site) but I'd give this game.. a 11/10. Such an emotional roller coaster... who'd be expecting to cry at freaking 4:48am in the morning smh... amways wonderful game <3.. everything about it. Sound track, art work, story lines and characters.. amazing.

Painfully dull. Took me 3 weeks to go through it as the character interactions are painful to read through. The "humor" didn't click for me at all and all I felt was secondhand embarrassment for the MC. Impossible to self insert or feel anything but disgust for this guy. One particular high/lowlight was him flexing his dick(?) or dancing while thinking he's alone(but not really) in the house. Wacky interactions ensue. Reminder: This man and most characters in the game are all in their 20s. Unfortunately for me, scenes like these form the bulk of the lighter moments.

Now coming onto the "heavy" parts, while I get the message of suicidal tendencies and how difficult it is as their loved ones to help them get out of the rut, this came at the price of sidelining every other LI in the game. There's a clear FMC and every other end that's not with her feels shallow and unfulfilling. Most are outright bad ends. It tries to invoke emotions out of the drama but just came across as a sobfest due to the total disconnect I felt from the happenings in the game.

Gameplay wise, it's straightforward enough with most choices nudging you more firmly towards your preferred girl while locking out the others. Sex scenes are really bad and unerotic and there's really not enough of them for such a long game. You'll have playthroughs where you'll go through the entire game with less than 5. No sensuality, barely any sex talk, it's like there was a deliberate attempt to make this as unsexy as possible.This is really bad in a porn game and doubly so when all other aspects of the game are this bad.

I'm giving this half star more just because it's a complete game. Really not worth anybody's time.

This game is objectively excellent. The story, the writing, the animations. I thought the women were beautiful overall....Robin seemed rushed and Kira was occasionally inconsistent.

Here's the thing - it's story heavy and the sex is infrequent, soft and vanilla...so if that's your thing, you'll likely find this to be a masterpiece.

So, here's what I didn't like:
- Soft, vanilla sex
- There didn't seem to be a harem route

Best game i ever play from this genre, i appreciate this game you create the story was one of the best i seen so far, and i play a lot of this games, the animations are not the best ones but thats okay, the most importante thing to me in this games is the story and you naild it for sure.
i also like the mechacnics of the RPG character personality it is a nice addition to the game

Really fun game. It has sprinkled in humor and seriousness throughout. There were a lot of paths to play and or pick from so there is lots of replay value. I have enjoyed each and every path so far for each character. I enjoy the challenge of making the right choice for each one depending on who I'm trying to end up with. Great game, and well written. Suddenly goofy in the midst of serious topics, just like how I live my life.

The Main Story Cece Path and presentation really well tailored and presented. Presentation too good that youll get mad at the author for the buildups, scare, release and boom. but yeah the story is "as realistic as it gets for a game" with a good ending only. I thought there will be bad ending or alternate ending/resolution onto her suicidal, but no they dont. I really wish to know any other idea the author have during the writings of this resolution.
Other than Cece, Side Paths are lacking. its more like 1 Main Cece story and 5 side chick stories. Selecting path feels so quick and Chap 6+ feels so slow due to not changing location(?). probably could add few chaps, but who am i to be entitled to say anything about this.
I always have bad habit to skip any boring looking part in any game/movie but This title presentation hooked me enough.. Gonna rate the presentation around 8-9/10 for keeping me interested on to reading everything. Should worth every single time you play this game.
Music is very good.
Sex scene is okay as good enough. i didnt go through every path. but what the hell with Holly the last scene lol. looked like they are less invested in the the sex scene aside from the popular girls.
Will i recommend this game? Absolutely.
