I can understand how a dev gets burned out by the endless work, day after day, week after week, while having a real job and a real family. I have seen it a lot of times. In the end, it feels to me like devs hope for more than they get out of the experience of creating even a stirling product like this, superlative in every way. You took on DPC? Well, he might be an actual phd of programming or something and able to pump out noodley huge perfect perl scripts. But his story is not even close to yours. That is the way it goes in pornland. The best stuff sometimes does not get recognition. Your forum page count is 61 in 3 years. His is 9000 in 6 years. I have no idea what your income from this project looks like, but that count does not look like you got your investment back of the hours of your life that could have been spent doing other things.

Wonderful. I am hoping it will be possible to work out the mysteries without leaving loved ones behind and becoming a senator. That seems like overkill to me. Marry the cop and take her with him to DC. Something. Jamie could have worked something out like that too. It was not necessary to leave our hero behind. I haven't tried a Jamie only path. My hunch is she would leave him behind anyway. Our hero gets separated from the main plot if he goes with her.

My feeling is that you were looking for a way for him to end up with Aghavni. Fair enough. So now I want to keep them together.

I think you're giving too little credit to the dev on these. I think relationships will work out with all the LIs one way or another, depending on your choices. He's not pushing one over the other. Just takes some time and story building.

That being said, if she doesn't get some actual progression, and hopefully maybe a scene next episode, I may consider writing myself out of this story. Cause at that point, it would be too much seeing your favorite girl get shafted relationship building scenes and lewd scenes, while every other girl gets something, hell it feels like side girls get more than her sometimes.

It reminds me of all those teen soaps where just a little bit of communication from both parties at the right time would basically end the series but instead it's 6 seasons of just missing each other.

might honestly be part of I dislike it cause one thing that I hate in TV , or any entertainment is lack of communication im always wanting the MC or whatever to say something and they never do until 2 or 3 seasons later.

even this MC had a few moments where I wanted him to say something or at least say something a bit sooner. Even tho it wasn't that bad or it did make sense for him not to. I can't exactly recall what those moments were unless I do a replay

This is true. The oblivious mc is a porn game staple. Except in this game we are given a reason for it, and do see him growing out of it.

Agreed. It is true though irl that a lot of people do feel that way. Job trumps love. Graduate from college and leave everybody behind almost always. There might be a select one or two, but most likely not a lover. If you want to stick with somebody, better get married before graduation.

I think lovers should always be considered, not to make decisions around, but to be included. There will be a way.

The same thing with Malena deciding that she can't deal with his idealism. I would say that is a rl feeling and she will not come back from it. IRL dealing with childhood trauma overrules nearly everything else.

This is really sort of a cliffhanger. MC is off to the senate, Jamie is off to be a professor at Harvard (is she really good enough for that?), Malena is pissed, Emmalene is his sister. I would be disappointed in dev if he comes back in chapt 5 and tells us Captain Midnight has survived being shot 5 times and being thrown off the top of a ten story building.

I would grant Jamie the right to come back in a few weeks and tell mc that she is lost without him in her life. Come be with me. Ok, Jamie, I still love you.

In the end though, the way forward is going to be towards solving the mystery, regardless of what that means for relationships. And Aghavni would probably be his best help in that.

So if this does become the nightmare of political intrigue at the highest levels that is threatened, MC will probably need legal advice and contacts from a prof at Harvard and the fighting skills that Malena can provide. Meanwhile Emmaline is the link that brings Malenaa around to forgiving him. And he will certainly need Aghavni the detective.

Leaving DNA - Developer's Journal 5:27 and 5:28 via e-Mail Supporter Newsletter

Hey everybody.

I had a nice visit with my out-of-state family. 12 hours driving alone each way but worth it to see everybody. I spent a good chunk of my travel time working (mentally) on a couple of my stories. I go back and forth on whether I'll make another game after Leaving DNA. On one hand this is just so much work after my day job and has taken much longer than I thought it would. On the other hand, I do enjoy telling the story and it would make me sad if I felt like I had new stories and wasn't doing anything to share them. Hopefully by the time I'm done with Leaving DNA I'll be able to use my experience to set up a new project more efficiently and produce at a faster speed.

For the last two weeks I have created 113 new renders. I'm pretty happy with that having taken several days off and given that for this scene I wasn't able to use the render queue to render overnight, so I had to sit and wait for each image to render after I posed it. Manual rendering was actually a huge annoyance so I hope I never have to go through it again.
