When you get the required ability to jump up the waterfall and catch the second boss fish, over to the right there's a pathway.

pregnant fish you need to do the inn guy quests to unlock their encounter.

as for the fish, try to have 1 fish item from all type of fish around the area.
you start off with a limited access around the areas, there's not allot of them+easy to catch.

That's another game by this circle yes, but it's not this game's predecessor. There's another Legend of the River Queen game before this one that I don't believe ever found its way here.
