Yeah, her memories were rewritten as you said, she also apologized in front of the class and was accepted back to the class. But not much later, after a new reset her memories were re-rewritten and now she did neither of those things... so I have no idea what was all that about it and what it added to the plot. There was no time to even explore it.
That is what it added to the plot, no matter what you believe in it can change from a reset to the other.

It's mainly images actually, and that's also because most sex scenes in this game are still images and not animations. Even right now I think 9 gigs is very low for what is considered to be the biggest visual novel in English
Edit: I looked up some games on the biggest script size list and one of them is 9.1 GB so LiL's current file size seems pretty reasonable
Wait really? Biggest visual novel in english? Is that like hyperbole or forrealsies?

That point was already made long before with Makoto after bluejay, Ayane after roof, girls not remembering a sleepover, tsuneyo thinking she was in the class from day 1, etc.

What we do learn around that update is the existence of the wishing well and the library and that no memory or event is completely lost. It's all in there. So maybe it still has a part to play.

(Indirect reply inbound)
When I first started the game I thought Yumi was originally an outlier of the affection system (i.e., does not like Sensei at all); this was noticed by the gods or whatever that is awful in this world, who tried to include her by inducing Sensei's blackouts and making Yumi a major victim of them. Not only did this served as a wakeup call to the newly spawned Sensei, but originally I also thought this somehow is a strange and fucked up way that starts Yumi's path of affection (in a sense of a more "traditional" porn game, or in a sense of Sekai's grooming strategy perhaps).

Because at the time I thought there is no way Yumi would tolerate this without some kind of comeback, like what she did to Nodoka, if she did not like the creepy fuck at all; so maybe through the unconsent kiss she now is assigned with an affection parameter, and is forced to love him now (but I think this might already been disproven later by the fact that she has really been a tsuendere from the beginning)

To add more confusion to the mix, the Concerned has intervened twice when Sensei was "having difficulties", and also claims to know her by a different name (or I think it's the Concerned judging from the all lower case sentences).

So back to prompt, I don't think OG Sensei was just trying to cheat on Maya via Yumi because her unexplained tendency of being intermingled with the fuckery makes me believe that she has to have other roles more significant than just some flings. But I agree that perhaps OG Sensei did have some plans for her (either Akira or something else has plans for her) if those detentions were, retold by Chika, just making Yumi stand there and staring at her; what could that have accomplished?
I don't think Yumi was ever an exception to the affection points stuff, since she requires some to get through some main events, before we get to the forced kiss event.

Nevertheless, I do think there's more going on with her than just the Original Sensei's feelings.

Like you said, the concerned/User3/Pareidolia has gotten involved with Yumi and Sensei before, but, more than that, there seems to be a couple references to Sekai when it comes to Yumi:

There's also how her cousin happens to be the one that Sekai is seemingly possessing.

Then there's how Sensei's wandering blackouts that Yumi happens to be around for, actually seemed odd to Maya:

Yumi even seemed to be the one to stop Sensei from going "into the light" in the 'Not even me' main event, meaning she might be the reason this version of Sensei lasted so long.

Overall: Yumi is an enigma for now.

As for the detentions, I decided to go back and check, and I think there was more going on than just staring:

Chika just seemed to sugarcoat what Yumi said with "stare at her or whatever".

In fact, Yumi actually seemed to expect Sensei to tell her to do things and fuck with her back in the 'Delinquent' main event:

I think there was more than just staring at her, going on, but, nothing actually physical. Unless she's had her memory altered of what actually happened or something, then who knows.

The original Sensei also may have been stalking her:

0.32, release date 7/1
2 Main events
4 Io events
4 Yasu events
3 Haruka events
3 Maki events
3 "events" (it's in an odd font, so not sure how to describe it)
2 Animations
1 Character Profile (likely Side character 15, see below)
1 week left for the next update, i wish we had more main events to keep the drama but 4 Io events will be enough for me, anyone is excited for any of them? (special mention to yasu for the little sneak peak about her past or something similar)

Also there is the fact that the "autopilot" Sensei that acted during dorm wars 2 - beachmas timeskip apparently spent a lot of time with Yumi(which she also doesn't remember, but Chika does). Don't know how it fits, just that it was.
I was under the impression that all the extra time he spent with Yumi according to everyone else was a consequence of her being stuck talking to him during the time-skip, that the mechanism of the skip was forced to write in a lot of Sensei and Yumi time because they were locked together. I took this to be reinforced by how there's only a few screen changes, that as everything was being written smoothly, those two had to keep being put to the side until eventually being pinched off for the skip to continue, leaving a sort of smooth progression for everyone else and a sudden stutter for them... but that might all just be my subjective experience.

this is also what I assumed

Definitely looking forward to Io's, Yasu's, and what I'm thinking is Nao-chan's, unless she shows up in the main events instead. Haruka and Maki are fine I guess. Kind of think it's just going to be a little depressing, with some sex as a medication for loneliness.

Seeing Sensei in this will probably be wild though:

Update after this one is Beach/Dorm Wars, so this is likely to be a brief pause before the drama spikes up again.

This moment really grabbed me just now, you never really see Akira engage with any scene when you look at his face, he always look like he's only half there but the screen shift from looking like he usually does to suddenly looking directly at Tsuneyo in this one is so minor and yet so visceral. He's 100% in this conversation.

ugh more maki and haruka content. I like milfs and all, but more content for the other girls is better for me. Hell, Imani's only got like 2 main events wtf? Rika's got 3 events and she was just introduced.

I am looking forward specialy for Io events. Yasu event might be really interesting, but her previous events were really boring. Except maybe Glossolalia

Haruka's & Maki's events are enigmas. They both do not seem to have persistent storyline before.

Nao-chan already meakes me feel bored.

If not spoiled scene previews, I'll think next patch would be worst in 2023.

You are unfair. Maki and Haruka haven't received any content since "Haloween Dorm Wars" and no personal events since "Sad Girls". There is already "more content for the other girls"

That Molly thing really effed him up. Tormented him for months, and still bothers him a year later.

That's one of the only reasons I don't consider Sensei completely horrible. Just mostly horrible. At least the possibility of being an actual rapist, bothers him.
