The self insert topic feels so pointless. As people have said, none of the characters are literally Selebus and all of them, so long as they have any thought put into them at all, are going to draw on things relatable to Selebus. Because that's how writing works.
Thinking about how much DNA of the author each character has just seems trivial. Is there really any reason any of us should care? I've read what everyone said and it seems like that line of thinking reveals nothing at best and causes factually incorrect assumptions on characters at worst.
Maybe it's just an effort to equate Selebus to characters in the game so we can find excuses to dislike the author? Or it's a cynical way of explaining what people see as poor writing?

Either way, the topic sucks and we should focus more on things like the Io relating to Sensei's past truama thing or whether or not Ami is actually going to try to kill someone.

It could be an interesting trigger for him to discover more about Maya's past even. Since she's also implied to have run from an abusive family. I mean, one of the points of new Maya is discovering about her past, so maybe it becomes a common theme shared between multiple characters on next updates.
Oh, when was this mentioned?

I think you're forgetting here that we do have 4.th wall breaking, and Sel as a narrator.
So a self insert is already a given.
To what extent though, is up to speculation.
Oh and by the way, i count myself as someone who doesn't dislike Sel as a whole.
I mean, his flaws are very obvious, we all know.

I have my own line he'd yet have to cross to judge him.
Maybe i'm just putting some faith in him and maybe one day i'm proven wrong, but that's okay, benefit of the doubt.

All in all, I just think that, at this point in time, Nodoka's a weak character, and she's mostly used as a plot device to make things happen. Reading Nodoka's events is sometimes like "what has she done now?" - and all of it is outrageous. And if every event is outrageous the character starts to become more of a device than a real thing.

Simply put, I find her character uninteresting as an individual. I just feel like Nodoka's character arc hasn't even started, there is no conflict, no growth, just a zealot hellbent on her crusade, whilst ignoring any possibility of a meaningful reevaluation of her actions. No consequences affect her, no developments really change her outlook, there's just no change in course (she just advances in perversion). Which, by the way, would be totally fine if we didn't discuss Nodoka every 5 hours, which I think is the biggest issue - and I would just not mind most of what I said if not for the overthinking.
Very well said. I imagine the reason why the self-insert things come rather often especially around Nodoka is exactly because her own story seems to be going nowhere, or hasn't started like you said. Thus when thinking about the in-story purpose of smartass characters such as herself, people have no other option but default to assuming their roles being either plot device or creator's self-insert. Neither of those is in-universe and thus neither of those is a good trait one assigns to characters that player can interact with on a daily basis.

The most generous benefit of the doubt I can give regarding Nodoka's purpose is that perhaps she is there mainly for tapping into cosmic secrets, and nothing more. Aka, understanding her episodes, her limitless knowledge, the upside down house, Kyoko Nagasawa, and understanding this senseless world through or with her are her purposes; and the rest will either be plot devices for others or simply go nowhere.

Like, at this point of time I've almost completely given up on Nodoka route receiving any interpersonal development content. Judging from how her book arc concluded and how things just seamlessly transitioned to Nodokathon, I sincerely don't know if she'd ever get her fair share of a long overdue kick in the shin. Maybe she will in the future, but after waiting months for any fallout to happen and none happened, I might as well believe that Selly personally tailors and puts a full set plot armor on her, grovels at her feet, before going out to get her coffee.

Wasn't me... but KK studio

Pretty sure just code got edited and my pfp got placed over Puta's face...
I always wondered what people like you get out of that.
Care to shed some light on it?
I guess we two should be beyond pretending.

What does this mean? I think you may have misread the situation, either that or I did.

You read that, right?
Tell me if there is space to interpret this any other way besides "that was cute girl magic"

Maybe i'm high and driving a tractor on a drug farm, but damn.
For anyone who can do those things, like editing script files aso, but still questioning all that stuff, in that certain way espacially.
Ooooh, cmon.

He didn't make the edit, somepersonoutofnowhere edited his pfp into a scene and changed the text for the lols. I'm not sure what he used, could have been KK, could have been ms paint as it's just a screenshot from the game and not a newly rendered scene. Hope that clears that up.

Yea... but the text... I wonder if he just changed the scene's code or straight out made a new scene...
