That feeling you had whilst you wrote that is the one i feel for the subject entirely turned up by an order of magnitude. There is always another lazy idiot popping into the thread asking for folks to provide for them a custom service, delivering on a platter everything they ask for like we're getting paid to do so. It drives me up the wall, 99% of the time a very basic search would answer their question or request but they can't even be fucked to do that. There has been a collective effort to put together the puzzle guide and we got it added to the first post, but do they look in the most obvious place before asking for it? No, of course not. I got the mods to slap in a bigger set of warnings inside the spoiler for the care packages links, does this stop dipshits rolling in saying their saves got wiped 'plz give me the exact save i lost including all my choices and the exact last scene i was reading', heavens no, it barely made a dent in their numbers. And just when one finally fucks off after either getting no help cause they don't deserve it or someone finally buckled and threw them a bone, the next one rocks right the fuck up and starts this bullshit all over again. It never ends.
I used to be as helpful as i could cause i figure not everyone instantly knows how to use the tools of any website they go to, but it didn't take me that long to realise that they don't even care to learn the tools even if they're really straightforward and if people keep just giving them what they ask for without making them have to do any work for it, why would they ever feel the need to learn it for themselves? I call them parachuters cause they drop into a thread from out of nowhere, grab the shit they want and then bail, never contributing anything to anything. I make minor exceptions if the person is polite and seemingly forthright in their ignorance, but if i don't see that, they can fuck right off back into space for all i care.
just finished last update, im crying. I dont remember being that invested in fictional characters since ever with few exceptions, you would think that some books from new york best sellers or hollywood movies or new games or anything really with their endless budgets would be able to make a better story, but no -a fucking free porn game is what has feelings

I feel you. I hate those fucking impossible puzzles, but everything else is pure gold. I often skip 2-3 update because I lack time in my life and my interest for the game then drop, but each time I decide to come back, it hit me hard.
yanno.. I wonder if there'd be a lot less contention and the arms race of cheats and anti-cheat between the players and Sel if he introduced some sort of "what if?" mechanic that lets you glimpse into missed scenes

I know of only two porn games I'd place in the same rarified air as LiL (great writing, solid gameplay, dev who gives a shit)-- Out of Touch and The Last Sovereign.
i have finished everything in the new escape the room puzzle quest but i am still not able to see an escape option. should i have done this in a particular order or something? pls help
agree , my other favourites are pale carnations, now&then, eternum , not as good but still very much up there in terms of writing and character

Your second tier of games looks a lot like mine, all of those are good games.
(PC I've had trouble getting into for taste reasons, even though I think it is very high quality; my problem is simply that i find almost every person in the game unlikable.) I'd also tack Deluca Family onto the T2 list; the gameplay is spotty and the worldbuilding, while rich, is kinda silly-- but the art and story are very good.You don't have permission to view the spoiler content.

At the risk of beating a dead horse, I would like to talk about Our Time Atop This Mattress and how it pertains to the overall design.
If each choice presented leads to a different outcome down the line (and only the Ayane outcome is -currently- available), that's fine.
If this is a case of there being 1 "correct" answer and three wrong answers however.. then I have to say I'm losing a bit of patience here.

Some extra chapter 3 stats
1) Chapter 3 was 437 days from 0.25.0part1 to 0.36.0. Chapter 2 was 459 days, so surprisingly it wasn't a record. Or was, if we start measuring from 0.24.0 release. Anyways it is close
2) 0.27.0 is 80k words for 22 events, which is all-time record of events size
3) On the other side, 0.29 is 20 events and 60k words in 69 (nice) days, which is an anti-record of game development speed (excluding 0.24.0). 0.36 is going to be new record holder if we ignore generic events, so chapter 3 is not that suck by comparsion
4) There is 520k words in 2023 and 525k words in 2022. The trick is that 0.24, which took 4 months, doesn't count. However, 300k of 2022 worlds are made in 4 months of chapter 3 development. Netherless, chapter 3 is still slowest with average 1876 words per day.
Looking forward for 2024. 200 planned events is still less than average (237), but at least average event size in chapter 3 is 3131 words, compated to all-time average of 2703, so my approximation is 626k words agains average 602k

Chapter 3 is the longest in term of words right?
Idk if it is because of the pace of the game or because most of the story now is told through chain-link events, but it felt like the shortest
