Also, this may be way overstepping it, but the recent addition of phone pics made me think of something.

You know the monthly LiL gravure photos? I was thinking it'd be nice if those were also included in the game via an album feature, with new gravure photos being added into the game every 2-3 months or so. Just some food for thought.

"Things like this might happen every once in a while because you're a super awesome, super likable guy who lights up the room just by walking in."
Ahh, no, it's become like every other harem game! (Yes I know it was a joke and I too am joking, but that really is what 90% of the harem games are like, and the few that aren't are a breath of fresh air.)

That and a lot of them move too quickly into sex, which limits the time in which the character can be built upon. Sure, they could build up the character after the fact, but these games often don't last long enough after the fact to build the character and that's assuming the game lasts through its entire development cycle. Character development tends to be a lot more effective when done over a long period of time and before anything significant happens. If the character is pushed into sex by the developer too early, it just makes them seem like a total slut even if they are supposed to be completely pure no matter what their development is like after. The player will remember that that character started a physical relationship not long after the initial relationship began. That works when the character is supposed to be a total slut in the first place, or at least a girl with an overactive libido like Kirin, but not for a good 99.9% of character types. As an opposite example, it would not work with Karin.

There's also the issue where the girls automatically fall for the MC in those games, that isn't the case here. We have girls in this game he's been pursuing since day one that are still not into him or that are more into someone else than him even if there is something there in his favor. The relationships in this game are much more natural. Sure, there's Ayane, but that's Ayane just being Ayane. It's just the way she is, totally devoted to the MC. Try putting Yumi in that situation and it would just feel forced.

Well, the way I see it (which may be wrong): the situation with Yumi feels forced as it is. But it's intentional, and Selebus plays around with the fact that it's forced. Because any game where you end up with 500 women, it's gonna feel forced. That only happens to kings and warlords, not even the most "super awesome super likable guys". The game highlights that MC doesn't really deserve any of this and everyone is being pushed in that direction because they happen to be characters in a harem game.

In this case, it's specifically discussed in one of the 15.1 scenes. It feels forced because it is, not just externally by the author, but internally by the scenario. It's discussed as a clue to what's really going on (which still isn't being explained -- fortunuately -- but is becoming increasingly alluded to)

Big reason I can draw is MC being "hot single MALE in your area", with the war taking all the other male away(plot), active female are either gonna get interested in MC or choose to be les for their partner.

Not really in the same context. It feels forced now because it is, she doesn't want him to butt into her life, but he's doing it anyway because she needs it if he is ever going to get any closer to getting with her. What I meant by forced in my comment is that the situation was written in a way that there was no way for it to feel natural at all. At least forcing a stubborn girl who doesn't know how to get out of her rotten situation is a kind of force that feels natural. If Yumi wasn't the way she is, yes, it would feel forced in the context that I meant in my comment. No, unlike most harem games, the characters in LiL are not being pushed by that fact into being with him. Case in point, Rin, who went from liking Chika to starting to like Otoha, which she still does. There is only one instance so far that shows she might be falling for player Sensei, but that could easily be written off as a mistake in judgement at a highly emotional and vulnerable moment by Rin.

Her situation pretty much requires a forced situation, no other character in the game is this stubborn about her own problems and not accepting outside help. She forced player Sensei's hand.

He's not the only male exempt, just the only one on screen that is. I'm pretty sure Ayane's father is also exempt, likely bought his way out. The space war did take 99.9% of the male population away, leaving the female population to go after the remaining 0.1%, which includes teachers and other essential non-combat personnel like player Sensei. His profession is what got him out of the war. That is a big reason the girls are going for him, but then you have outliers like Rin, who has fallen for not one, but two girls, both in player Sensei's class and both right in front of the guy. She has made one move in his direction, but that can always just be written off as a mistake by Rin. It's not like it was anything irreversible, after all.

Another homerun by Selebus. After 5 minutes into the update I already love Nodoka. I knew she would be great from her first encounter, but my expectations have been exceeded for the 100th time with this game. Coming from other VNs back to LiL when it updates is always an eye-opening experience. No filler, no over-exposition, no forced drama; not a word is wasted in this VN. To make a poor comparison, the clever dialogue and strength of the characters always reminds me of my favorite moments in The Fruit of Grisaia.

Wow, really? You two know Grisaia as well? I have so many fond memories...afterall, The Fruit of Grisaia was the second eroge I've every played back when I was 11 :)

Have you also played the Phantom Trigger series? The plot's really good, though it unfortunately didn't surpass the original series (and no outright erotic content, though plenty suggestive).

I am immensely overjoyed by the fact that Sensei continues to just randomly call Niki in the middle of the day to prove that he dated her and then hangs up when she blows up. The next Niki event really can't come soon enough. Also, I hope for at least one J-rock concert with all the musician characters on the scene somewhere in the future. Maybe even Sensei on the drums, however little sense that would make.

It's a bit sad that we'll have to wait a month until meeting the strange Christian girl again, but I guess it makes sense that the biggest mystery comes last. New girls we did get are not bad at all, though. I enjoyed both Otoha's "almost mature" and Nodoka's "genius without care for rules of society" vibe.

Her intro had me laughing so hard I was almost crying, it was expertly crafted, and then there was her one dorm event at the end that gave me a very deep understanding of what it looks like she is going through at the cost of more "Delirium" flashbacks. It is a cost I would happily pay, though. She needs help just like every other girl in the cast and in order to help her, her problem must be understood, which means being exposed to it firsthand.

She is just way too fun to mess with, it brings out the mischievous devil in me, which is the exact opposite of the other girls or when dealing with Niki in person. Fun fact, her personality is my second least favorite to the more hostile version of Touka's. Touka is a himedere, does the whole princess/commoner thing, looks down on anyone not at or above her status, usually comes from some form of higher status family. The only difference between Touka and a typical himedere is that she doesn't seem to look down on those of lower status on purpose, that's just the way she was raised. She sees them as less fortunate, but not necessarily under her, which is a good thing in my eyes. Niki is the stereotypical celebrity type, which I hate almost as much because of their bitchy attitudes. For that reason as well as her bullying, that's why Yumi still stands in last place, though she has grown on me now that her undeserved hostility is calming a bit.

It’s always been on my to-read list, as my favorite writer of Grisaia writes them. I read the latter 2 Grisaia entries a few months ago and they were good but felt like they were mostly fan service outside of finally learning Yuuji’s backstory and what actually happened with his sister. Though I love the witty, morbid, and surprisingly educational content of his writing so I’ll get to them at some point.

Big reason why we love it, is the complexity of the story and how it's delivered. We got different characters with a unique background story for each, though they differ but can still relate strongly to each other and don't tire the player out when trying to get to know them. We got a main character, despite being surrounded by tons of girls, doesn't have every single one obsessed with him in the beginning, like a lot of how other games work, we got girls that like him, admire him and girls that hate him, disgust him.
And I love that part about the game so much,....feels like it's my duty to fix the broken bonds between me and the ones who hate my guts, and then take their virginity at the end.
True, no game is completed without that factor, there's a feeling of grief and regret somehow, like trying your best to make somebody like you.

You seem to express a lot of feelings and opinions whenever you reply to someone. And that's wholesome :sneaky:

I think you are being overly harsh to her. She is probably a lot sweeter when talking to someone who didn't suddenly vanish and crash her life and then annoyed her every time they met afterwards. Also, her and Sensei's attitudes play off each other perfectly, which makes everything better.

1) The multiple choice dialogs are visually unpleasant to read on black backgrounds (on weekends midday and evening). I suggest adding a neutral (seasonal) background image.
Not much can be done about the background, it's winter, it snows in Japan in winter, and snow is sometimes blindingly white. There are actually a few environmental conditions associated with being blinded by snow IRL because of this. Don't worry, it will change again when it comes time to change seasons and the snow melts.
Are you for real? Did you read what I wrote or are you just trying to reply to as many posts as you can?

I'm talking about the noon and evening selection screens on the weekend. If that's the colour of snow then you must be buried 20 meters deep in it.
