OK. I just see it on the front like 5 times so I thought it might be important.
Yeah, that is just because if you use the care packages without the DRM patch, game will be so nice to delete your savegames. And that would really suck if you didnt made a backup of your savegames. And because of such nice DRM, it is really highly recommended to backup your savegames regularly.

Yeah, I maybe said it like "we can clearly see" when what I meant was "we can easily interpreter it that way". My bad.

And I agree that we don't have enough info on Sekai. And still I have no problems to imagine him with feelings toward her, while I do have with Maya, is what I'm saying.

Ah, okay, this makes much more sense. And i agree, you might be right with your interpretation. But i dont think we currently have enough information to be sure about it.

That is all? I am a bit disapointed. Because tbh, i would just see that as the implementation of victims of abuse, often abuse themself later in life concept. Nothing about that tells me anything about him wanting Sekai back i any way, shape or form. I mean nothing you said after that is technically wrong, i just wouldnt connect it so directly to Sekai, even tho she is surely to blame for this character flaw of his at the very least partial.

And if she would really approve of what he does? Tbh, i dont think we actually know enough about Sekei to know that. I am not even convinced the Sekai we see is really her and not just some supernatural thing that wears her appearance. So all we really have are those few flashbacks with her. And even the accuracy of those is questionable imo.

That is also the reason why i am not so sure if she really cared about Ami. Maybe she did, maybe she didnt. So far i really dont believe we have enough information to tell for sure.
I do not believe he does things looking for praise from Sekai either. What I think is that she managed to screw with all of his understandings about what love is and he was a prisoner to her whims until she died and left him bereft of knowing how to function.

And concerning present events, I don't think he wants Sekai back, I think he's terrified of her and he's shown plenty of times that he wants her to disappear and not mess with him anymore. That doesn't discount the fact that she was his world, and that she made his entire warped worldview until he was almost an adult, so there are conflicted emotions there. The thing about him stopping to feel anything when she died, not being able to love, and stuff like that - doesn't mean that he wants her back. Moreso that he never learned how to feel without being in an abusing mess, and in the moments that he does he feels like he doesn't deserve it since she did manage to warp his head to that extent (which is obviously not true and he could move on in a hundred different ways).

Yeah, at the very least he want the ghost that is hunting him go away. But if it would be about the real person, i could see him be conflicted and unsure what he actually would want.

I just thought of something. When irl victims of abuse try to cope with longtherm abuse, their brain does actually trick them into believing they actually love their abuser, to end the conflict of a constant fight, flight reaction when both possibilities are not possible.

So even with the limited information i believe that could be what is going on in the relationship between him and her. Which would end up with some sort of hating love in his brain. And after the accident he suddenly had to take care of a girl that is so much like her.

What if even after the accident the constant fight, flight reaction with both choices still be impossible in the form of Ami? So his whole trauma kept going on with the daugther. I mean it isnt so unusual for human to transfer emotions they have for certain people on to people that remind them of those people.

Now i really wish we would know more about the relationship of ami with her mother. Because without knowing how her side of this would look like to explain why she is so hellbend on taking care about her uncle, the puzzle keeps uncomplete.

he didn't touch a single person
Did I miss a confirmation of that or we don't have one?

she was the one that came onto him, and more or less forced
Yeah but then she's basically continuing Sekai's project which he apparently against. And that makes no more sense. So I'm gonna stick with my guns for now. Maybe it'll change someday.
What won't change is the fact that Selly made potentially strongest event for mc absolutely useless for reader.

what the fuck is Good Kid doing here?

Is Selebus a fan of Torontonian bands? can we get Alvvays next chapter too? Who's got Selebus' income stats, how many subscribers hail from the GTA?

I have been very busy, but I was finally able to play the update, I enjoyed it a lot and I will leave some thoughts

I have a lot of questions about this whole conversation, from when Kaori goes on loop with "dad?", to this part about she being concerningly like "resets will keep going forever and nothing will change, Akira." - this doesn't even seem like Kaori, more like Sekai or someone else.

This helps. One other question though, you mention the appearance of BIG BOI, and as far as we know it's a good thing he showed up cause otherwise the girls wouldn't have been able to reset. Which apparently was super easy for him and he didn't have to ask for anyone's help.

BUT with Maya, she probably had to pray for her god that left the shrine everytime (?) - which god do you think is that? I mean, is the reset even something they should have to ask for? Is it not something the next god in the cycle wants anyway?
Presumably, anyone can initiate the reset. Maya Prime is just usually the one who did:

The resets themselves don't really seem to be the main plot for the supernatural stuff, though. According to Possessed Tsuneyo, this all started before (presumably) Sensei was born:

And Yasu's religion is apparently 200+ years old:

The resets apparently started when Sensei was around 31, and only seem to affect some months within this school year of 2020:

It somewhat seems like this game, so far, has been comparable to a side story that barely matters to the true story. Or as Nao might put it:

As for whatever god is behind the resets, it isn't entirely clear. Possibly the Wire god/USER2 as they are all about order, but it could be something like USER4 or Nao, who simply want to watch the ants crawl around in circles within this ant-farm called "Kumon-mi". Possibly all for entertainment, hence the sitcom and game show stuff:

Edit: Also, Sensei used to be Yasu's god's/presumably HOPE's favorite:

Albeit, probably not anymore:

Excellent update. It skillfully delivered that authentic "Lessons in Love" experience I was craving. Sensei's Whale story almost hypnotized me, even. The whole scene was a trip. Good uncles were well served, too. The moms were lovely; cute reactions from Yuki and Maki. Sara was great, as always. Haruka's bonfire scene was impactful. I always enjoy Sensei's interactions with them. Ami was adorable.

I'm likely in the minority here, but what most engages me in LiL is the weird art, gods, supernatural stuff, parallel dimensions, resets, strange stories, etc. This update had a lot of that, so I was happy. I've always loved "denpa" content. There aren't many games with something as bizarre as fucking Floral Laura.

Of course, there must be lulls in this weirdness between updates, or the magic wears out. More banal, routine, drama-filled updates are necessities in an immense work like LiL.

The only thing annoying me still is that I can't really sympathize, let alone empathize properly with Sensei regarding Maya's "death." Feels overblown to me. I've seen people lose lifelong, devoted partners and not devolve into a mess of Sensei's level. I guess you can chalk it up to his mental illnesses or some subconscious, ingrained response from the millions of years the various "Senseis" spent with Maya, perhaps.

If that's the case, though, strange. If Sensei has these past influences, I don't understand why he doesn't show more attachment to someone like Yumi. Sometimes, when he has his episodes near Yumi, her outfits change quickly, as if they had met in many scenarios (they've been likely intimate as well since she also appears naked momentarily.) Does anyone remember if Sensei has proposed to anyone besides her (even as a joke?)

The impression is that many, or at least one of these past "Senseis" have been crazy about her.

I'm sure there's a good reason why he was so obsessed with Maya, but it seems I failed to grasp it properly.

Could actually help him to finally become a character, i mean one who doesnt just either fucking or whining around. I mean, if maya was all that kept you interested in the game. Well, that sucks for you.
It’s not about Maya keeping me interested in the game, but the interactions happening actually making an impact. I had the feeling that Sensei was at least somewhat maturing throughout the chapters and there being some kind of progress. Without Maya, it’s more or less back to slice of life, but nothing matters since the cycles reset the characters and gods can change everything else at will. I haven’t played the latest update, but really, what point would there be for Akira to overcome the challenge when he could just get back to fucking around since they are just playthings to the gods that could be erased at any time?

I've been super busy with work so I've missed a couple patches. If I use the latest, would that patch from 0.37.0 to Current?

I am very out of the loop. I stopped following this series slightly after the white haired church girl was introduced. IIRC patreon shut it down or something... I never saw this series update again. What happened to it? Did it continue? Am I about to have a grand weekend catching up?

It won't work, you will need 0.38 and 0.39.

I mostly just dumb down to the fact that our manchild protagonist simply isn't ready for any hardship. He is too complacent during his time in Kumon-mi, and rarely thinks about or prepares for the worst. When the harsh reality finally comes, he's nowhere near ready. I suppose what hits Sensei extra hard is that from his perspective, he killed her and this perhaps could've all been avoided if he'd just listened. The loss of a loved one and the guilt from being both direct and indirect cause of it is pretty crushingly overwhelming even from a bystander's angle, let alone for someone who desperately needs to mentally grow up.

But it's fair to argue if the whole death of Prime Maya arc doesn't resonate; Selly has tampered the biggest constant in his universe, and apparently his delivery this time just didn't nail everyone and/or could've been done better.

If that's the case, though, strange. If Sensei has these past influences, I don't understand why he doesn't show more attachment to someone like Yumi. Has Sensei proposed to others even if it was meant to be a joke? Yes, MAIDS.

Though I will say that fake proposing Yumi is a lot cuter than any of my examples, love to see this tsudere blush. Sensei even later on unintentionally ships himself with her with the Yumi Arawaka shit. Shamelessly adorable.
1714877186924.png
But back to your "has Sensei gone intimate with Yumi due to things we've seen during his episodes?" prompt; it is very difficult to prove that any of those is real. Since both Sensei and Yumi show no sign of it, assuming there is no past influence and thus no chance of Sensei attaching to Yumi because of it is currently much easier. Besides, being intimate is definitely not the key to have this wretched man feel attached to you.
