Excellent update. It skillfully delivered that authentic "Lessons in Love" experience I was craving. Sensei's Whale story almost hypnotized me, even. The whole scene was a trip. Good uncles were well served, too. The moms were lovely; cute reactions from Yuki and Maki. Sara was great, as always. Haruka's bonfire scene was impactful. I always enjoy Sensei's interactions with them. Ami was adorable.
I'm likely in the minority here, but what most engages me in LiL is the weird art, gods, supernatural stuff, parallel dimensions, resets, strange stories, etc. This update had a lot of that, so I was happy. I've always loved "denpa" content. There aren't many games with something as bizarre as fucking Floral Laura.
Of course, there must be lulls in this weirdness between updates, or the magic wears out. More banal, routine, drama-filled updates are necessities in an immense work like LiL.
The only thing annoying me still is that I can't really sympathize, let alone empathize properly with Sensei regarding Maya's "death." Feels overblown to me. I've seen people lose lifelong, devoted partners and not devolve into a mess of Sensei's level. I guess you can chalk it up to his mental illnesses or some subconscious, ingrained response from the millions of years the various "Senseis" spent with Maya, perhaps.
If that's the case, though, strange. If Sensei has these past influences, I don't understand why he doesn't show more attachment to someone like Yumi. Sometimes, when he has his episodes near Yumi, her outfits change quickly, as if they had met in many scenarios (they've been likely intimate as well since she also appears naked momentarily.) Does anyone remember if Sensei has proposed to anyone besides her (even as a joke?)
The impression is that many, or at least one of these past "Senseis" have been crazy about her.
I'm sure there's a good reason why he was so obsessed with Maya, but it seems I failed to grasp it properly.
