what is this game?
"Rumor has it that everyone who played this turned depressed or mostly insane due to being immersed in a world where nothing is certain..."

Here's a reviewer's quote

"They react often in the most unpredictable, illogical and insane way possible.
In other words they act exactly like humans..." -Anonymous reviewer

Hey Selebus I kinda wanted this message to be a dm, but whatever. I seriously love the game but I have a small problem with the happy scenes. I understand that they make up a large part of both the story and your artistic vision regarding the game, and I respect that. The thing is, when you stumble into one of them at 3am, with you dick in one hand, it gets the desired effect I suppose. The problem was I relived the fucking scene at 5am (I am prone to sleep paralysis. not fun). would u consider adding a cheat code that flagged the happy scenes completed? as somewhat of an "accessibility feature" in this case
I normally would disagree with this on the basis that the 'happy' scenes are basically the main plot and are very important, but you do raise a valid point. There are people with medical issues that, in combination with a 'happy' scene being recalled from memory, could result in a very bad time and potentially the loss of players. I mean, yeah, they are given explicit warning that shit is going to hit the fan at some point, but that doesn't soften the impact this combination can have because it only affects the game side of the equation, not the medical side. Another solution is to recommend that any player with this kind of issue does not play the game, but then we're talking drastic measures.

I don't think there is any indication they are underage, not even on the upcoming profile screens. The closest we get to an age is a birthday with no year mentioned. Size of body does not equate to age nor does the loli tag on this site or in general, that tag just means they LOOK potentially underage.
While true, there are some joking references to it. For example, during the Halloween event, there are multiple instances of a character about to mention their age, but then getting interrupted or distracted literally one word before saying the number. But I'm pretty sure they were talking more about the horror elements or something like the fact you nail a girl against a wall both literally and figurativly at one point.

There are a number of reasons I can't do that, but the biggest of which won't be fully apparent until the next update. Those scenes contain information vital to progression and giving players the means to skip them means essentially hard-locking them to certain parts of the game and forcing them to look things up to move forward. And while there are a number of players who already do things like that to avoid the "grind," this would be the first case where it would become literally mandatory for x percentage of the playerbase.

So tldr: I hear you and respect you but that's something I, unfortunately, can't do.

selebus just called the story and plot of his game a 'grind' I have been lied to and I was too stupid to realize I fell in love with just another cookie clicker game, woe is me

I'm aware and I did address that, but the point was made about their, as of yet undefined, age. Since they did not say the number in the Halloween event, that can't be used as evidence.

Hence why I ended my comment with
"Another solution is to recommend that any player with this kind of issue does not play the game, but then we're talking drastic measures."
I figured it would come to that because of the importance of the events in question. It is unfortunate that things must be this way, but it must be done.

In a sense, that's kind of how the headpat system will be.
Now that is a grind I don't mind. Rin better prepare herself, the time of great patting is upon her.

Serious answer this time: It's a very well written denpa game. Most famous games in the same genre include Doki Doki Literature Club and Higurashi.
If you're not familiar with those, it's a dating sim visual novel that has something else happening beneath the surface and treats the characters as if they're real people by showing real consequences to the normal wish fulfillment present in most other dating sims/VNs.

It's a game that makes you appreciate the happy times by also showing you the sad ones.

I've been told that this game is supposed to show the characters as realistic with their own problems and such, which I understand completely. but what's with the weird smiley faces and glitchy stuff? also what is the text to speech thing?
