It's all good, misunderstandings happen. No no you got me wrong i'm not saying they are bad but maybe they are too long ? i don't know but at some point i just started to skip inner dialouges and dialouges happen in "resets" because there is too much...words ? english is not my prime language so sorry for confusion but what i'm trying to say there is too much words and they are not saying anything most of the time, basically you can cut some dialouges and the meaning of the game would still be the same.
Also, i'm not backing down from reddit moments because there are not only for atheism i dunno if you played the latest so i'm not gonna go to spoiler too much, there is scene that someone talks about jesus and that made me cringe so hard i clenched my butt reddit moments are not only about religion tho there are others if you just read closely.
I kind of get the notion of the content being a little "too much" sometimes. There really is a lot of words. During my first playthrough, at least in the beginning, I had phases where I skipped parts of content I was not particularly interested in.
Once you really get into it though I found it hard to just skip and enjoyed even the little conversations between characters I initially didn't like that much. I remember that I had favorites in the beginning of the game that I wanted to speedrun their content first. And that once the class expanded that I disliked most of the new students, only for them to grow on me to the point where I like some of them more than most of the initial ten.
And yeah, you can essentially always cut a lot of dialogue while still having the plot makes sense and be coherent. But one of the main things dialogue does is it builds character development and background.
Sure, you don't need to read the conversations Akira has with Io in the onsen about baseball or about how Io is a depressive wreck but appreciates Akira, and what Akira thinks of all that. But it establishes a certain bond, you feel like the characters are growing closer and understand each other with every shared conversation. Which in turn amplifies the impact of a decision during a fateful future scene (which, again, I haven't even watched yet and am dreading to get to during my replay).
This is just an example of many where dialogue provides further nuance and gives the general plot movements more meaning and solidifies character relationships.
What I would generally recommend to newer players, as counterintuitive as it may seem, is to look at this game less like a NSFW porn game to jerk off to, but to treat it like a book that you want to read through during some quiet time. Take your time to pay attention and let it all sink in and enjoy the intimate moments as a sort of extra if you will, but not treat them as a motivation to skim through the "main" content.
And regarding the Jesus comment, I feel like there have been so many Jesus pictures and mentions that I'm afraid you'd have to be more specific and show me the scene/screenshot that you are referring to in order to better understand your stance.
PS: I think it is fair to assume that anyone that posts here is up-to-date on the latest update. Content/development that has been specifically revealed during the last update are generally but into spoiler tags either in-line (like this) or as a separate spoiler box (see below) for at least the first few days after it came out, probably up until the public release? I don't think there is a hard rule here.
