I'm probably gonna play the next update but depending on how much content is there (Which does look like a fair bit) That's when I'll have a better idea if I want to wait or just play it monthly with everyone, there are some games on here I play every update cause it gives enough content for me to enjoy and others I leave for 3 or 4 updates to cook and fill my appetite and avoid cliffhangers.
You'll never avoid cliffhangers but I'd suggest playing the coming update, and then taking the break for the few months.
Next month's update is basically filler, and I'm sure nothing big is going to happen until the next maya / ami updates, and even then they'll probably not be that expository (I suspect that I won't get the answers I want about maya this update and I'd have to wait that long for them instead)
although...
Maybe there will be enough Maya for me to get my answer. I thought she was just gonna cameo in that one pyjamas scene. Might also get to see if Yasu has reconnected or not.
Does headpats do anything more than one line after 10 headpats. I thought it was a few funny lines, but seeing everyone praises it im not sure.
Every headpat has a 500 pat reward. It's debatable whether it's worth it but if you're a completionist get clicking on skip and just read the unseen text.
But because there's no real consensus about what that flag actually signifies, I'm not sure who it would help.
Until we get a NTR scene that people aren't debating whether it's NTR or not, avoid the tag. You'll just usher in a new load of people questioning the ntr, and then complaining that NTR isn't in the game. And if the day an actual NTR scene is in the game, get ready to explain that it happens in one scene and this isn't a NTR game.
Why is it that I dislike children irl but not in games?
Generally because writers don't write realistic children. If they aren't suffering from trauma they live too in the moment to wring a good story out of them. Narrations of Chinami show a more realistic child than Chinami's dialogue itself, and that's ignoring the knowledge she has which should be more adult only (and I'm talking more than sex here)
That's a lot of hexdecimals... I translated it but it comes out with some gibberish. The part at the end did say something about jerking off. Also it kinda seemed irish or something. I'm sure there is a proper translation of whatever plays in "ode to a marsh warbler".
From the wiki
- This event, added in the Chapter 1 Revamp, introduces the motif of birds and, specifically, the Marsh Warbler much earlier.
- In the background of this event, the song 'warblewarblewarble' plays on loop. Overlaid on the music is a series of text-to-speech messages. They are, in order:
- "This is only the beginning. The days that have yet to come will wash over you, like a partially detached showerhead, spewing the sea out of itself in an effort to make you clean. But you will never be clean. There are simply some things that become soiled beyond recognition. This is only the beginning. Greetings, you who are highly favored. The world is your clam's tongue. And you will change those who need it most. You must. This is only the beginning. And I will watch you every step of the way."
- "Himawari-hatake, sore wa anata ni hanashikakemasu. Kiite kudasai. Semi no nakigoe, kaze ga nakimasu. Makasete, watashi ga anata wo tasukemasu. Anata no me ga daisuki. Anata no me ga daisuki. Anata no me ga daisuki. Anata no me ga daisuki. Anata no me ga daisuki. Anata no me ga daisuki."
- "The sunflower field: it speaks to you. Listen: the cries of cicadas, the wind sings them. Leave it to me, I'll save you. I love your eyes. I love your eyes. I love your eyes. I love your eyes. I love your eyes. I love your eyes."
Well, the scenes aren't animated. Or at least this one wasn't. I guess that makes sense for a not porn game. Guess the animated tag is reserved for the static transitions.
Also I think the game is going for the mental sex over the visual kind, which would make sense for a well written story based game.
The only animated scenes in the game are the ones you'd watch repeatedly, so only the invite / show up sex scenes. If you look too closely you'd see Sel isn't a disney animator so it's for the best.
Every now and then though I'd think it'd be fun to try making a animation revamp but that's a rabbit hole I should avoid if ever there was one.
You're right about that mental sex comment, and if I was ever going to try an overhaul I think I'd have to start with one you're months away from seeing.
