Ayane literally threatened to keep hitting Ami if she didn't do what she wanted:
Not to mention lying straight to her face while trying to gaslight her. That's the bullying I'm referring to.
Nothing Ami did, earned physical violence. Ayane let herself be left out in the woods. It was part of the dorm wars, that she could have forfeited. Even being there overnight wasn't on Ami. That was on the Shapeshifter.
On top of this, it's pretty clear why Ami acted the way she did:And Ayane definitely was not treating Ami as an "equal" nor was Ami considering her one (she had prior probably, but not since then). Ayane literally bossed her around to the point that it worried Sensei, so much that he brought it up twice in that brief timespan. Ayane is still
hiding this from Sensei for a reason.
Ayane isn't just a
coward, or a
bully, but a
cowardly bully, tbh
.
Of course, if Ami didn't just let her have her way, Ayane probably wouldn't be able to. After Maya scared Ayane, Ami wanted Ayane back, and even could offer sharing Sensei with her to mend their friendship:
Allowing Ayane to bully her was what Ami had to do, to keep Ayane (and probably Sensei) happy in her eyes. Which is toxic, but Ami is the kind of person who casually helped Sensei shit in a bucket for 2 months. She's used to shitty situations.
Nevertheless, Ayane
is the kind of person that'll choke, and hit others to get her way. Not to mention the whole having sex on the beds of her friends cause she's a horrible person stuff.
Btw, Ayane has had Ami and Sensei since she was 11 (her mother left around then), and likely Geoffrey as well. She's never
actually been alone. Ami has literally been there to let her sleep on her:
And if she needs someone whose very existence relies on her, to not feel alone, that somewhat speaks for itself.
