I've been checking out most of the huggy boy dialogue on my playthrough and I've been taking screenshots as I go through the game for either lines that sound like foreshadowing, great huggy boy dialogue, or just Maya being cute. Noriko's just appeared, I've done all the side content up to that point and I'm up to 300+
I have a few observations/funfacts from the replay that didn't make to their own post because I was trying to speedrun chapter 2 to catch up to my schedule:
The first half of chapter 2 is when Maya Prime starts to realise that Akira is her Akira, and slowly starts to help him/fight Noriko in helping him recover his memories. However, there is a third layer to these events, which is that only when we meet alt Maya Prime that we realise for how long she was waiting for her Akira to appear, and for the longest time she didn't even think it possible. So yeah, these events, to Maya Prime's perspective are a miracle that hasn't happened once in a thousand years - which makes things even more dire in case someone resets him.
Io's self destructive nature is shown early on with Yuki as well. So, this is an interesting one: Upon an early visit to the bathhouse, Io will fangirl over Yuki's tattoo and insist she let Akira look at it. However, during the end of said event, Io will start regretting her decision because Yuki and Akira start to sort of flirt, and she realises that she made things even harder for her by pairing him with an adult. This is very subtle and is likely to only be observed if you understand her head.
It is implied that it is the case, yes. She's cool with Otoha as well, for the same reason. In her words "Otoha's barely a girl" (although certainly not a friend). However, regarding Yuki, I think it goes deeper - since Io also notes that she hopes she never fixes things with Yumi, since it would make her feel as less of a failure herself.
So I think Yuki's situation is half because she's very masculine, and half because it borders an Uta situation (someone that landed on a very bad spot and somehow bounced back, while still struggling) and Io identifies with that somewhat.
Yuki doesn't present or behave in a feminine way, and isn't likely to talk about being a mother to anyone. So nothing about her immediately triggered Io's trauma, allowing her to form an actual opinion of her, rather than the reactive one she forms about just about every woman she meets.
Very similar to how Io's opinion of Uta is only as high as it is because she was already emotionally invested in their friendship before finding out Uta wasn't a boy.
Both Koikatsu and Koikatsu Sunshine are available on this site, just search for those names.
Edit: Sorry, missed the "compressed" part. They do have the massive install broken down into splits, so you can download each part individually and unpack them together.

I'll be damned but I'd never skip a like on a detailed Moonflare replay post, even while under the influence of 1 ½ bottles worth or vodka forcefully poured by your uncle (Eastern European bros will understand).
Regardless, very valid points made. I'm not sure if it's an individual and subject experience since it was when I played the game for the longest consecutively, but I feel like chapter 2 was really the best and most "wholesome", with lots of character development, the integration of dorm 2 and lots of stuff prior to miserable and depressed Akira. Chapter 3 was of course also very good but 2 laid the foundations I feel like.
Just kind of felt like I had to mention it since you yourself said you rushed through it.
That being said, there's no way in hell you'll be able to catch up to .46 before the update.
This is not meant as a challenge, it's just highlighting how long this game is and how deep it goes. I myself thoght I might be able to replay it all before the new year and I began a lot earlier than you and am still way behind.
Shit's long as fuck.
I have a few observations/funfacts from the replay that didn't make to their own post because I was trying to speedrun chapter 2 to catch up to my schedule:
Since many are on their replay, I seek fresh eyes for an age-old question of mine about a certain conversation by the end of Ch2. Why did Uta skip her work unannounced? What happened?
This event is within the 4th reset event chain, so the last time Sensei privately spoke to Uta prior to this would be Uta's Blood Everywhere, or anywhere during the 2nd Christmas party (particularly, Dodging Snowflakes) if updates can establish some chronological order. Then, the first time Sensei had any meaningful conversation with Uta is by the end of Creatures of Habits. However, none of the event above really gives solid enough hints on why Uta skipped work without notice and I can't find any direct confirmation about anything related.
Now, even if Uta's past has not been revealed yet at that time, I am all about attributing this mysterious absence to her not feeling like working due to perhaps unsolicitedly receiving more of her own nudes yet again. Judging from what Uta said by the end of Creatures of Habits, it's easy to intentionally believe that Uta here was insinuating that her nightmare had recently resurfaced.
What stops from just assuming so is that:
- That's not the only possible take on her words. Moreover, Uta actually looked pretty bashfully happy when delivering those words, so she might be implying her trend of having crushes rather than something haunting. Even bringing up "her pictures" would significantly dim her aura, so it doesn't really feel fitting here.
- Even if she did recently received her own nudes around the time of Somnambula, a direct confirmation on the cause/effect is still lacking (i.e., skipping work is true and receiving nudes is true, but is receiving nudes leading to skipping work true?)
- When Uta finally confided to Io in Neverender about receiving nudes again, Uta seemed to be talking only about that one scenario in After the Rain when she washed Sensei's back. I feel like Uta would've mentioned that it actually had already happenedtwice if we want to assume her skipping work all the way back in Ch2 was caused by nudes. It would be something like "I was about to go to work...then my phone went off" and "then months later I was about to take a bath...then my phone went off", for example. Instead, she made it sound like the nude she got during After the Rain was something that happened for the first time after a long while.
So, my actual question is did I miss something? Was her absence actually being brought up and discussed in some other events so I don't have to make this assumption that isn't that impeccable in my book?

After putting two and two together I figured out why Sel said Chinami would be a horrible boss. Chinami has aborrent working conditions because she likes watching her workers get dismembered for her own (maybe sexual) pleasure. Chika fucked up by giving Chinami unmonitored acess to the internet.

Since it's brought up in an event chain in which a reset occurs, and in the same event she brings it up Akira's perception is getting skewed on the regular, it's entirely possible that Uta was simply an early victim of the reset.
