I'm new to this thread. Why does the date say "5 Years" if it's still being uploaded on this site now?
It's not being promoted on the new releases page anymore for quite a while due to some verbal conflicts between the dev and F95 mods. Basically Selebus (the dev) thinks piracy is cannibalizing his income from subscriptions and has been very vocal about not allowing users to leak the newest updates right upon release. Mods got pissed at his attitude and punished him by shadowbanning the game.

For more info, please reach out to the lore masters in this thread, that saga was before my time.

If it was that vanilla of a disagreement they'd probably have just banned the account rather than putting in the no promotion effort.

A big part that I saw was Selebus started adding care packages with loli content, then started raising hell that F95zone was distributing ** when the care pagages appeared here. That's what made the game Excommunicado

Remember to backup your saves, lads!
And reapply the crack if you were dumb enough to put pirated care packages into the game files after the patch is applied.

Nope. That was a whole kerfuffle but the thing that got the thread quarantined and support links removed was when he added the DRM. I'd know, i was there Gandalf, as were many of the other regulars. He added the DRM because of that care package kerfuffle.

Guys, I think we have not enough time to explain what happend with this thread. Let's better speak about next update.

How do you think, would we get Maya's past explained this time?

I know someone put together a thread-lore post somewhere here, because I tried to get it pinned to the first post and it got denied  Was it Zuko who wrote it up?

Nahh, definitely wasn’t me. All that drama in the thread was before I was involved here. I started getting into LiL when 0.35 was the latest update, so just before Chapter 4 started.

I read the whole thread before posting, albeit skimming the non-Selebus posts. It was an interesting experience and well worth doing. The most interesting thing is how Selebus would help an enormous number of people and guide them through events - how to unlock them, what they're missing, etc. We're talking quadruple digit posts just helping people. This was rather intriguing to me, for was the purpose of the unlock conditions of these events not to be obscured to some degree? I had to wonder if developers universally feel some kind of stress response when people get stuck, or maybe in the past there was greater criticism-aversion such that helping people was felt as a way to avoid the game being blamed for the situation in some way... The most tragic post of all was Selebus's declaration that he would no longer be posting. I have felt that way a number of times at various points. It is like the last gasp of idealistic, purposeful choice against the ravenous hungering of the instincts. To know the right choice but be unable to make it without essentially putting your pride on the line by announcing it to others, thereby adding consequences to failing. It's for this reason I could not begrudge any stealthy posting on an alt that came after; how are we to quell the beast inside us that demands us to read everything, to see everything, to know everything, and most of all, to vent our truth upon them like steam from an overheated eye of sauron? In summary... damnit I didnt make it before the update who cares now. goodbye

I'm new to this thread. Why does the date say "5 Years" if it's still being uploaded on this site now?
When a developer breaks the site's rules and doesn't agree to start abiding by them again, their game(s) stop getting promoted. That basically just means that new updates don't push the game back to the top of the "latest updates" feature and the game becomes much harder to find for new players.

Rule violations that can result in this include harassing moderators and attempting to sic lawyers on them, using sock puppet accounts to post negative reviews of similar games (or fake reviews of your own game), etc. There's a handful of de-promoted games on this site, the other one that I'm aware of off the top of my head is Champion of Realms. I think they were guilty of review manipulation, but don't count me on that.

Some rules just get a game outright deleted, and that's what Sel had actually been hoping for when he started harassing mods.

The game tends to leak here within moments of going live, and that pisses off the dev. So he created the idea of "care packages" that function similar to DVD bonus content, and were going to have de-aged versions of the girls in bonus animations, with this hopes that those would constitute rule 7 violations and prevent the care packages from being uploaded here.

It didn't work, and they started getting uploaded here almost instantly, and he threw a fit. Mass-ban of any potential leakers from the Discord, his cronies creating sock puppet accounts to mass-report the game, threats to sue, the works. The mods de-promoted the game and told him to take a hike.

He wants the game deleted. He had no problem with this site when he was getting started, but now that he's making $10k/month, he wants it gone, and I suspect it's only a matter of time before he adds content to the game that will get that done.
