December 28 is the day we assume the resets started/the world "ended". And from the newspapers on the windows, it might had to do with some sort of disaster happening.
As exciting as it sounds, the resident buzzkill here must inform you that the newspaper there is a school infirmary bulletin, providing information and guideline regarding norovirus-induced infectious diarrhea (not even news about a recent outburst; that's just some routine educational information during appropriate seasons). This has to be one of the preexisting assets. If Selly really used it to represent something like an apocalypse newspaper, it's too hilarious of an idea for people that can read that prop, implying the world is coming to an end due to mass shitting.

My guess is that this is a similar presentation seen in Meant to Be, where Kumon-mi is undergoing some procedures during a reset. Thus it's only for indicating the world outside now isn't normal, and the content of those bulletins is of no significance.

I reached the half of second chapter on my first replay and this time im actually reading the "boring" characters instead of skipping them. And to be honest im suprised how some of the boring characters got interesting and cute, while others still meh to me.

Futaba:
At my first playthrough i just take a look at Futaba and said, "Yeah fat girl with giant tits have insecurities" and never look at her again. This time i think she is one of the cutest girls. Like everytime i see her on the screen i just wanna hug or pet her head. And get sad when sensei uses her as a fleshlight and disregards her.

Karin:
Overly shy around boys, we already have Sana, what is the point of her was the first question i asked when Karin was introduced before pressing ctrl to skip her. Now she is still not my fav girl but not that boring either.

Uta and Noriko:
At the start of my replay i though i would start to like these girls. But i was suprised i find myself bored again. These two are tiring. Their overflowing energy doesn't reach to me, is it because there are lots of hyper active quirky girls introduced before them or something else but i just can't like them. Only reason i tolerate Noriko is there is chance sensei remembers something or event can connect to Maya and Niki.
Finally find my fella appreciating kindness of Futaba. It's kinda ironic that most people would call "boring" with prejudice instead. The story will remind us again and again how undeserving we are of having her in this horrible and beautiful world. It's both frustrating and relieving to see her not involve in main plot so much since it's always based on infinite chaos and sadness.

I think Sensei has a soft spot for fragile girls. He's put much effort (at least more than that of Makoto and Ayane at first for example) in bonding and fixing girls like Rin or Futaba. To put it more general, he likes to destroy what is complete and fix what is broken. Therefore he will stuck in betwixt forever.

Day 16 character count 10852. It's that time again, I took care of that game that was distracting me. It's surprising how unimmersed(or something) you get in a story when you are distracted. I will most likely start the second chapter tomorrow.

Mmm, yes. Those blood graphics are indeed next gen, look at the quality of that.
Indeed. The best gore graphics, better than DOOM.

That chicken is way too big...
That's not a chicken, it's a cock.

So Kaori is officially 22 years old. Isn't that like, the first official mention of a character's age?

No space in my brain to memorize phone numbers or addresses. The only addresses I know are my current, sort of my parents and sort of mine childhood home. I don't even memorize my own phone number, especially not anyone else's unless you include two different emergency numbers. 112 which is my own countries and 911 which, I guess belongs to many other countries like America.
Bro, the same.

Yeah, I can see it. Ayane would be a good mom. She's kind of one of those "appearances can be deceiving" types. You think she may not be a good one but she would likely surprise you just how good she would be.
Give her more headpats.

Rich looking girl? Now that's an interesting plot development.
Yeah, just one look at her and I get that rich and elegant feel even down to the hair.
Looking even closer at what she's wearing... yeah, 100% rich girl. Wouldn't be surprised if she's richer than Ayane. But then again, maybe Ayane haven't learned as much discipline as this other girl has.
Okay her name is Touka... Tomonori and Tsukioka aren't difficult to pronounce but reading them would take a couple tries at worst.

I think I get what's going on. Ayane's family is like the modern rich kind. More disorganized and modern in their approach. Meanwhile Touka's family might be the older more traditional kind who put high value on how they appear to others and are more strict. I was gonna say sort of like Tsuneyo's but Tsuneyo's is probably not rich and they went too far on the sheltering part.
Yeah, Touka and Ayane kinda similar if you think about it, but way too different. But I like both of them. I won't spoil why I like Touka though, aside for her appearance. She's looking great.

Wait, pirating is bad? I had no idea!

How many times am I gonna hear about this horny ball of light? Is repetition also part of the existential horror nonsense? I mean it could be but I don't think I would forget this little detail nor do I think it's absurd enough to give me any kind of existential dread.

Now that's an awful lot of wires. I'm starting to think wires are indeed important to the story somehow. I mean, even if I wasn't told that which I was, the number of mentions are suspicious.
BIG LORE

sorta

I'm sure if you were playing this blindly, you may have no idea what to do with that IP address. I don't like scary stuff, disturbing and unsettling in the disgusting kind of way I can tolerate. Wouldn't skip past happy scenes, why would you even do that? The static and disturbing imagery can happen at any time, just cover most of the screen and don't play on absurdly high volume, easy.
I'm not sure how much of it is huggy boy exclusive but he basically explains why it's there. He didn't like how many people were skipping Happy Scenes with text skip so he added mandatory information in them. Otherwise they're hard blocked from progressing to the next chapter, and this is just one of the many times he will require it. He even adds extra happy scenes for the really observant.

112 which is my own countries and 911 which, I guess belongs to many other countries like America.

There is a lot more than that, the chart is really annoying honestly. Why are there so many to remember instead of agreeing on one.

Wait, pirating is bad? I had no idea! (can you smell the sarcasm?)
He's going to do this a bunch. Something that caught his attention during the month he was working on a update will make it into the game. People pirating the game, people copying the game, Summertime Saga people who don't deserve to make as much money as they do while LiL doesn't. Wouldn't be surprised if Despacito was one of these instead of a specific joke for Ayane.

We couldn't share information as easily in the pre-internet days as we can now. Countries were more or less creating these systems in a vacuum.

Hell, rotary phones didn't even work the same way in every country. Each number dialed sends a set number of pulses, but in some countries, 1 sent 1 pulse and 9 sent 9 pulses, and in others, 1 sent 9 pulses and 9 sent 1 pulse.

Modern (post-internet) globalisation has changed how new systems are developed so that they're more standardized, but those old existing systems are so entrenched that changing them would be dangerous. The sheer expense of "911 is now 000" marketing to make sure everybody knows about the change alone ensures that no country will risk it.

Well, literally both of them are related to gods. Idk which ones but a few early happy events tells you a story about 3 gods

You wouldnt know what to do half the game xdd

I don't remember seeing an argument for this, can you explain or point me to a post that goes into more detail?

For what it's worth, the name of the slumber party event is misleading. The party itself and the reset happen on the night of Dec 30.

I can make an in depth post as I run into the event on my playthrough (it's a little off still). I tried to search it myself, but unfortunately it seems I haven't made one yet.

Until then, one evidence can be gathered from your own post:

it can interpreted this way: "today is december 28th, 2020 - because the calendar has run out of pages. Because that is the last day of the calendar. Thus the day of the first reset on Terminal 23."

Then, the event takes place on december 28 because it's always december 28, even if it is two days after it. The days in Kumon-mi, as the passage of time, are fictional - in the real world it's always dec 28, they never left. No one ages, nothing changes, and even when they do, it reverts back.

One piece of evidence isn't conclusive enough, obviously. But I'll take a look at it again as I catch up to it.

fdsasdf_p is correct though, thanks for the clarification. My japanese isn't good enough to read it at a glance, and I didn't want to bother my japanese friends.
