He was the most insightful, entertaining meta-poster the thread had had in years.

Also, his loquacity and almost comical self-reflectivity seemed quite suitable for discussion of Lessons in Love.

Maybe I just have a soft spot for people with strange but internally-consistent views and the will to expound at great length on the internet?

There was a unique style there that brought some real fun and intrigue. I enjoy it most when the thread feels like a sort of meta-narrative supplement to the story. In that sense Y_F's posts really hit the spot.

But that's just, like, my opinion, man.
We can agree to disagree.

I found their writing annoyingly pretentious and if they were doing a bit, it went on way too long for me. They also seemed to think that if they just wrote long-winded essays with unnecessarily complex wording, it made it worth reading. Which to me, it didn't.

I am also very aware of the irony in my statement because Sel does the same thing.. but I also don't really enjoy when Sel drones on and on, and at least he's telling a story that I actively seek out to read.

I didn't think I'd get a clear shot of Uta's toes. I'm pretty sure it's the same color as that one preview of 0.48

No Maki jebait at least.

I'm over with the fanfest thing, I'm more upset about people voting on the dormwars. I really don't like public participation on what should be the story written by Selebus (only).
You're telling me you don't want the first annual Noriko-thon. A battle between Uta (maybe not after this update), Noriko, and Rin to see who can get cock blocked/cucked the hardest.

Most actively updated western vn and you still find something to bitch about. Even when its free content.

So we have reached the point where Sel only has the main plot and has ran out of ideas for filler content so he wants others to do it for free (well, technically while THEY pay him).

(JK, but...)

Why even do the Dorm Wars at this point? They were pretty good the first few times, but after a while, it’s gotten to the point where it just feels stale.

I wouldn’t mind at all if the Dorm Wars took a hiatus and something else was put in its place. For instance, the Camping Trip was a good example of doing something different for the majority of the update. The change in scenery was unexpectedly pleasant and it shook some things up temporarily.

Just something, anything new, I would be open-minded for. The Dorm Wars just doesn’t really get me hyped like the first two did, especially since not a single one except for the very first one ever actually delivered any sort of reward for the winner.

The fact that even Sel is like ‘fuck it’ and is leaving the contests and face-offs up to subscriber polls shows he is just as apathetic about the Dorm Wars as anyone else. It’s another bump in the road. Another obstacle. One that ‘has to happen’ because tradition demands it. But it really doesn’t.
