Either you have to farm it beforehand, change the number or force choose the option through URM. I choose the latter myself, but to each their own. The check happens at the final lines of "post-nut clarity".
This is not my area of expertise, so I may have missed something. But yeah, I just force choose Himawari both in this case, during the song selection for "Miserably ever after", and "Scientific research".
Regarding everyone acting so chill about Akira fucking different people: I for one am not surprised in the slightest. Why? Because something is currently amiss; something different than what has happened before. We're even warned about it not once, but twice:
So in short: something is very wrong with the residents of Terminal 23 right now. It started at the last Beach Trip and has become more apparent after the latest Reset. It's not too far fetched to think that, along with the Reset, the girls' behaviors have simply been altered, no?
Or better yet, what if we're still trapped in some weird alternate reality right now that mimics the one we've known and the key to breaking out of it is at the beach (AKA the edge of the world)?

That was a feeling I had the entire time on the back of my mind. Because, for one, I just kept thinking like "which Ami even is this?". Is this our Ami that regained her memories and became Ami Prime/Mega Ami? Or is this another Ami that managed to slip here and take over? Cause if that's even possible then it changes a lot about what we thought on Kumon-mi.
We have already talked about the scarf and the vanishing memories. But what about the knives trying to make Akira remember? What about Nodoka being more "contained" and seemingly understanding his worry? I don't know if Selebus is brave enough to pull a third reset puzzle in the same reset (in case we're still in one), but something's definitely going on.
I mean, after the previews, something is definitely going on.
Oh, on a very minor sidenote, it was also revealed that Niki has apparently lived through a hundred christmasses which kind of proves she's not something created for just this reset, I guess?
Any kind souls got a save right before 0.46? I didn't grind the lust points, missing a few events, and it's been like 5 years of this bullshit so I would really rather not start over :')
Fun update overall, but gotta agree with the above, something fucky is going on. We’ve gone from deep complicated relationships to default harem game horniness. Like, it’s way different than ever before. It ain’t an accident of bad writing, for sure, so something is happening to make every one 11/10 horny, and I’m thinking it’s paranormal related. Maybe this is actually the Paradolia happy ending universe.
I feel like certain....events have given Tsubasa a higher placement on this list. But actually, what puts Tsukasa that high? For me I actually like her too, and her quirks are being revealed more now. Though I did see something about being a similar route to Maya, which is actually kinda true. He's "tutoring" her and all. Just it's worse now cause he's even older.
Tsukasa and Tsubasa were both A tiers for me before this update.
You are absolutely right, that one event alone put Tsubasa in S tier...
As for Tsukasa, I always loved this little trouble maker, she was always funny and despite being your "stuck up rich girl" she was never a bad person (unlike her mother). She is attention starved, neglected and made to feel deplorable, and yet despite having all the power to do whatever she wants, she never wanted to bother anyone during the christmas party, she is one of the kindest people you will see in this game.
I know I compared Tsukasa's relationship with Akira to Maya's, but Tsukasa's situation resembles more that of young Ayane's.
They were both attention starved, kind, rich girls who caught feelings for this broken stupid idiot.
When she smiled my heart melted, and at the same time I got sad because this is not someone you want to catch feelings for, you deserve all the happiness in the world and that's not him.
I’ve always wondered how much Yasu understood in a real way about the world, given her paranormal input. So to see her acknowledge that she knew about multiple Mayas was super cool and interesting.
I definitely get you. Maya is a character you're supposed to like because the game tells you you're supposed to like her.
There's just nothing endearing about her, and I still hate the beach event where it asks if you want to go comfort her, but just shames you and shuts down the game if you refuse. Fuck 'er.
Not gonna lie, I’ve also never liked Maya particularly. As a story feature, she’s great. As a character, I dislike her. So I can at least say I find her a great addition to the story in terms of storytelling and lore building. Without her, the game couldn’t exist, story-wise. Being the one in-game connection to the time loop narrative early on makes her indispensable as a character. But as a person, yuck.
I don't know what to say, there's just something about Yuki that is very desirable/praiseworthy to me. Which is weird because I'm all for revenge and not forgiving someone that does you wrong, and she really fucked up. Maybe it's that I wish Akira could learn from her and eventually put his life together? I don't know.
Regardless, great character. I really enjoy her, it feels real.
My only real concern with Yuki is that she has said that basically, she can’t fully control how things will go. She’s talked about the inevitability of relapse, and while it may be broadly true given the intense nature of addiction, for her to be so willing to admit to it makes me wonder about her convictions.
I’m not saying that being realistic is bad, and addiction is unlike anything else in the world, but for me, if I acknowledge the potential for failure, I’ve already doomed myself to it. It’s the disappointment I have in myself when I fall that keeps me striving to not repeat my mistakes.
It’s a heavy topic, and Yuki is a great exploration of it. But personally, I’m concerned her character is still setting herself up to fail, even if she is trying in some regard to be better. But those nuances to complicated topics make her a wonderful character to explore.
Also now that I'm already speaking about the Tsukasa stuff. In one of my saves I chose pull the plug in "Failsafe"(Tsukasa event) But still got all the Tsukasa scenes in this update, "The Talk", etc. I wonder if its an oversight or if the choice in that event is intentionally pointless. The main reason I wonder is because in that save I'm still locked out of the call Tsukasa option. So I hope that save doesn't get soft locked in the future when an event that maybe will supposed to have been skipped needs me to call Tsukasa to progress the game but I cant.
Checked the script for you regarding that choice: the only difference I see is tsukasa_love += 1 or 5, and that's it. No Tsukasa content in this update is dependent on needing to make a specific choice there as there is not a flag established. And you can't call Tsukasa no matter what you choose there anyway. Don't worry about a softlock because of it.
And that's really the tragedy of Akira. It's just that this monologue is overshadowed by Chika later. But the point of the matter is that Akira is now dealing with everything he should have dealt with when Sekai died. He never grew up. His innocence was taken. His predator was taken. His doll was taken. He now only has a broken shell filled with regrets and the bed of worms he injected these girls with.
And that's good. Because he's finally saying these things out loud. He needs to say them out loud, even if it's a cry for someone to kill him. It's at least something. And since this event isn't missable, it's the closest we have of him outright saying these things to someone so far, that I recall (since "Stomachache" is missable).
Something I find mildly amusing is that:
- Among all the horseshit hallucination Sensei has been seeing, this time it actually helps a little bit (intentional or not)
- Kirin's consistent trend of being "overshadowed" or "scooped", especially when she isn't up to no good. Overshadowed by the better Kanda. Overshadowed by Miku and Uta in soccer and kudo club. Even her introduction to 1-A class was massively overshadowed by Noriko's powerful entrance. Now she comes to terms with her feelings but is immediately overshadowed by someone else fucking Sensei in front of her. Kirin's fate almost feels very purposefully tailor-made to have her lose all the battles she cares to win. The poor little fuck.
Anyone else get Maya Prime vibes from Ayane when she basically told Maya to go fuck herself when she needed advice? Ayane looking out for number 1, it seems. I get it, but I do wonder what Ayane’s true feelings toward Maya are. Given her proclivity to never expressing herself well, the world may never know…

I feel like there are many layers to that. On the superficial level, there's nothing to say, really. Maya is and always will be his number 1. Even Otoha's aware of it now. So there's nothing that Ayane can say to New Maya, they'll just naturally work it out - which, yeah, they do in this very update.
On a deeper level, Ayane wants Maya Prime back too. This isn't her Maya either, that is apparent when she meets alt Maya Prime. So, even though Akira feels it much more, Ayane is understandably also put off by New Maya.
Then, on the deepest level, Ayane is far too kind to actually tell her to fuck off. That's Maya being confrontational. Makoto would have told her to fuck off, Ayane was legitimately trying to help, even though there's nothing she can do about it. I don't think Ayane would actively try to undermine anyone ever. And I love Maya, but there was a reason she became Akira's soulmate, she's fucked up in so many ways - and that conversation makes it clear, she's very hard to talk with. They deserve eachother.
I feel like Ayane was being willfully unhelpful to Maya, personally. She worded it a nicer way, but she did nothing to help someone that she knows is freaking out. I mean, doesn’t she, as the leader of the RAS, have some stake in assisting people dealing with the revelation of time loops? But she basically says, “Sorry, you’re on your own.” I am not so sure she really wants Maya Prime back.
In .45 she felt a comfort and relief at having someone who seems to know what they’re doing around, but does that equate to actually wanting the return of her biggest rival? I don’t believe Ayane would straight merk Maya or any rival, but I’m not sure she’d go out of her way to assist them if she felt they were a true threat. Of course, given her gun collection, maybe…
I feel like every time I hear about 1984 I think it's some huge fucking deal but every time I search it up I leave empty handed, like it's blown way out of proportion. Is there some tldr that tells how important it is?
. It could be fair to say it's overblown, but the fact that it's had so many people blow it should say something about its impact. It comes up often in discussions about today's political climate
The game basically just gave me every warning it could without giving me a warning that there was gonna be a "sudden" static scare. And yet I still jumped...
Rule 1 of this game: Expecting the unexpected is fruitless. You can and you will be caught off guard because the game lures you into a fall sense of security all the time. How the fuck did a music stops and closeup to Noriko get me?
How bad does this stuff get to you? Because I stand by what I said about no intentional jumpscares, but if those things are getting you really badly you're going to have a few bad moments in Chapter 4's halloween event, near the halfway point's reset event (I think a little before, during the climax of and after Sensei Quest)
Sel thought it was fun to spam theholelol.mp3 (which was added in 0.44), you might want to listen to it a couple of times so you know once you hear it once, you're probably going to hear it 20 more times.
I think he actually did learn and that's why he decided to do it. He did it expecting Tsukasa to see him and Imani, he took inspiration from everyone walking in on him fucking people that day to use it as a way to continue grooming Tsukasa.
Edit: Also add on what derekthered56 said.

P.S. I ran out of reacts but want to finish reading the thread so you can all have imaginary infinite Schrodinger's reacts for the rest of today.

I looked up all the events. Technically you're going to see the Tsukasa specific scenes in 0.46 if you merely watched Failsafe, not if you agreed to groom her. I'm assuming at some point failsafe needs to be seen before the main scenes progress if they weren't red pathed away by holden caulfield
This could be a bug, or it might turn into a storyline we don't understand yet. If Sel intends a scene to be Grooming Tsukasa specific, he's supposed to use (tsukasarefused == False AND tsukasaspring3 == True) instead of (tsukasaspring3 == True) which was all over this update.
Moonflare decided to do a replay during the month long break in December and called on everyone to give it a go. I thought it was a great time to actually get a playthrough going instead of tagging along from 0.36, but I wanted to see these scenes for real so I spend a few days at the start of December grinding at the start of the game once I got all of the auto interrupting events out of the way (and one ayane event out of the way so I could get 2 extra affection per week at the Dojo)
I also plan to get some other grind specific rewards like the 'sex scenes' stick in sensei quest. I was going to go for the shampoo as well but I saw there's a way to remove it in 0.45 and there's no saved variable for doing so, so why bother?

I was willing to say Ami got swapped during 0.44-0.45 for this Prime Ami, but the beach moonout would fit even better. Ami searching in costume under her bed seemed innocent enough but its not like anything is broken by this being moon shenanigans
This (ingame) season is looking to be incredibly based. Sana update, then Yumi, Uta update. I need a senseiismad variable so he can properly fuck the gods up.
I couldn't help but read that as Sana Event Titties and got my hopes up.
By the way, I've forgotten if the stuff about "Seeing more with your eyes closed" came from Sekai or something else, I presume Sekai, but either way it reminds me of something, maybe it's been discussed or not, but
