Me again, I wanna talk about place where Akira first met Maya this time since the situation is bit ambiguous. Nobody seems to have done it before so let's sort it out.

On a more important note why haven't I receive any feedback from this??? What happened in the hallway has become a haunting mystery to me now but I will hold my hope like a thing with feathers.
I think Maya was effed up even before the resets. She implies that Sensei and her were "pretty fucked up" and that's why they got attached to eachother:

There's also some implications that she may have been raped by a family member, and was homeless before meeting Sensei.

I think the "girl who never made it home" story told by Sekai in 'Something Everyone Knows and Ignores' may have been about Maya:

Mostly due to the vending machines and running into a stranger parts:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
Which could be why Maya takes Sensei to a vending machine and buys him the drink that makes him nostalgic:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

There's also the implication that someone else took Maya's "purity" in 'The Room with Clocks':

before Sensei could adopt her and show her "true love". (Unless that black figure is the old Sensei, but that seems unlikely)

I also think this is from Maya's pov due to the green scarf:

The "finally be happy" and "finally knew what it meant to be loved" parts, makes me think something must have happened to her.

Nevertheless: Current Maya is considered "Broken beyond repair":

It's been almost two years, but the Maya connection to the Vending Machines, etc was discussed.

Just to add to it, Maya does seem familiar with Net Cafes, and collects Masks which appear in the 'S.E.K.A.I.' Happy Event.

Also, New Maya implied that Sensei had taken her virginity, so she wasn't completely raped (probably), but Maya Prime also noted they were both fucked up before they got together. So, something did likely happen to her. Possibly involving a family member.

Regarding Maya's coffee machine, it is a widely accepted theory that she's taking Akira to where they first met to try to activate his memories. She later explains the logic behind this when she criticizes Noriko's approach to it being too blunt.
Regarding the hallway during the Ami sacrifice, although Akira doesn't seem to remember what happened to Ami then, he later seems to recall Ami dying. Someone else can either confirm or deny this as I can't remember the specific event in which it happens.

Edit: It is also highly debatable if the "Ayane" from "Meant to be/Remember to smile" is actually Ayane. It is likely that at the very least it isn't our Ayane (and if she's just a projection of Akira's mind then it is confirmation by itself that he knows what happened to Ami - although even that isn't that necessary, as Akira has been shown a few times to have knowledge of things he wasn't present for).
Sensei mentions Ami died in the 'On the Count of Three' Main Event in Chapter 4:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Frankly, I'm still wondering what murdered Ami and seemed to try to murder Sensei as well:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Also, the 'Times New Roman' Reset seems to have a lot of references to dead Ami:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
And it may have taken place on Ami's 26th bday:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Overall: Sensei probably knows. May just selectively ignore it, though. Possibly even blames himself for letting Ami go and get murdered (sacrificed?) in the hallway.

I don't remember which event, but I kinda assumed he knows ALL the events that are shown to us, since in that one event, he wasn't present for it yet it ended with him in his room at night starting to quote the affection points update and then questioning what was he doing.

The way this flew over my head even after going through the start of the game twice just proves to me that I'll never understand the subtlety and the hidden meanings behind the text in this VN.

Feel like I gotta go read more books now

By the books it's 13 hours away, likely comes an hour earlier.

It's as hype as a probably not plot relevant update can be.
I'm happy to see how Yumi's story progresses even if it ends up in misery; I'll definitely have to agree on a few to no plot relevant details happening, maybe until after dorm wars

I don't think it's a good idea for Wakana "Is it possible to burn soup" Watabe, to work for a catering service.

Chika is just using the "Yumi marinated" watermelons to make something gourmet. Only at Tsukioka & Amamiya Nude Catering Service they can make you a meal that tases like your favorite girl.
I would like to place an order for your entire stock of Yumi melons. I will arrange for collection and delivery at your convenience.

Sensei mentions Ami died in the 'On the Count of Three' Main Event in Chapter 4:
Adding to this, Sensei has flashbacks of Ami's dead body in Miku's event "Bonerville" when she suggests doing karaoke.

In regards to the hallway and Ami's death, I just read through "The End of the World" again and noticed something new (to me at least). As Maya and Ayane note, Ami was sitting between them but they didn't see her leave. The last thing that happens before Ami disappears is that Sana says "slip" in hex and we fade to black.

Once we can see again, Ami is gone and there is suddenly a window behind Maya and Ayane that wasn't there before. It shows a blue sky when it's supposed to be nighttime.

It seems to me that they actually slipped to a different world when Sana said it. That fits with something else: prior to the slip, Sensei doesn't speak at all, like he's blacked out. After the slip he immediately starts talking again. We know Sensei blacks out when his mind slips - so it's quite possible that he had already slipped to the new world before the rest of them.

Add that to something which has been discussed before: when they return to the room after seeing Ami's body, there's another Ami wearing her Maya costume sitting behind Sensei. Ayane and Maya are apparently unaware of her.

So here's some questions: is the dead Ami in the hallway the original Ami from the world that they slipped to, rather than "our Ami"? Did something (the Old One?) kill her so that our Ami could take her place? Since Sensei slipped before the rest, did he witness her murder? If he blames himself, did he do something to cause it or did he just not prevent it?

It won't cause any problems unless your save was inside of a modified scene, if you were inside one of the daily menus it should be fine. You should absolutely redownload the game at that point, 0.42 had a renpy upgrade and it will improve loading times and you can't get the upgrade from patches.

If you want green path hints, pick Tsukasa. The next choice with her, Take It. With Otoha, share the photo. If you were using the guide mod before, you will still need it now. Did you take the shampoo?

Sorry but can you elaborate on the modified scenes and daily menus and are you referring to the shampoo that if you pick it up it like locks the dorms?. I iirc it was during one of the reset events?

And I could just copy and paste everything from my previous save file(s) from the old version to the latest one?

You broke your post a bit. I don't know what happens if you're inside of a scene when it's modified, that's kind of the problem. but if you got to the menus where you pick where to go for the day, you should be safe. Just try it instead of questioning it first, and then go back a save until you find one that works if it's broken.

Renpy should have made its own copy of your save files but you could manually copy them across again if you need to. Just try load up the game on its own first.

So by "modified scenes" you're talking about saves where I used the URM to change choices like for example changing from bad homie to good homie in a chapter 4 save?

Didn't bother using that and simply had the guide tool (not the ingame one) to progress, any long term choices that I regret (for example getting to a bad homie route with Rin) I simply backrolled to an ancient save and skipped to the present from there.

Any more choices I should pick if my goal were to simply get ALL the scenes

At the top of my head I'm at a save with good homie, fucked ami, threesome with Chika(I should get a save where I chose Yumi for 'future' uses), chose Wizard Tsukasa, and gave Otoha the pic)

I'll make another save when I reach that choice with Io out of sheer wanting to not betray my green loner.

Modified scenes as in Sel changed something in the scene. You can lose the reference to where you save was when it happens.
Don't bother with the Yumi threesome it won't lead anywhere, Ayane was the correct choice.

Off the top of my head:

Edit: You also have to watch "Abyss" before "Little Miracles". Honestly, there's a lot, one should use the guide mod because it's not always clear in a sensible manner.

Fuck it, I think I'll ignore my responsibilities for a day and try finish the update tomorrow. Probably will only be able to finish my main save so hopefully I don't get any missed events on that one. Guess I'll play the second save In the drought after the fan month thing.

There was a green save just posted if you're just trying to see the updated scenes. No need to rush your main saves if you're still completing the game.

My second is a green. I'd use that but I'm mostly interested in the Yumi events and In case of any slight variations depending on past choices id rather use the main where I actually remember the choices I made. Can just replay the update next month on the main save if I have to.

Edit: I guess I should clarify. I'm up to date. I'm talking about playing 0.48 tomorrow. It should be out by then right?
