I meant it's old as in it's meanings predate the modern day, it's meanings weren't coined with modern norms in mind, at least as i understand it, and all i was trying to say was 'music' might not quite mean what you take it to mean, you seemed off put by it, like it didn't fit, so i was trying to say maybe it's fittingness was lost in translation.I am not sure what do you mean by old. I specifically skimmed for readings of possible kanji that means music and only the onyomi of 楽 (raku) gives us ra for the two-kanji name. If you want traditional Japanese music there's a specific word for it 邦楽 hougaku. I am just speculating because this kanji has plenty of meanings, first that come to my mind are - fun, ease, paradise, music, relief, pleasure and some more synonyms, but those are the ones I do remember.
