Well, i really wanted to give this game a chance, but it just didnt worked out for me... will not write a review and give stars though, cause i didnt played long... the "gameplay" is just not for me.
Iam a emotional guy, acting behind the back of girls i like is not my thing... the problem about this game is, you have to progress EVERY girl, and in making progress i mean, you will have to be intimate with them, even if i dont want to. You dont have a choice really in this game... youre just checking the "event boxes" until everything is done.
There are several girls i really care for, but i would never cheat on a girl i want to be with... so i felt kinda shitty the whole time i played it...
Yeah its the setting of the game, it is supposed to be like that, so its just not my cup of tea. A shame cause the writing is really good, and the game looks great, but i just cant get over the "bad feelings" i get when the MC gets intimate with the girls when i just dont want to be with them rather with one girl of my choice.
So overall the "harem" is forced, and i just dont like that. Would prefer to build up one serious relationship with one of the girls than to go all in without any choice.
But the game never hides the fact that it is a pure harem game without really building a harem (maybe it will be the case in the end, but i dont think so), cause you hide everything in front of the other girls of course... literaly you bang every girl and you cheat on them all the time, not exactly harem though where every girl knows of the others and is ok with it to share the guy, so i didnt get tricked or anything liek that... you get what is to be expected, i just hoped you can go a "solo" route too, but thats not possible... in fact you have "to do" every girl, and no thats not for me. And i just cant oversee this to enjoy the story and writing, it bugs me every second of the game and i dont like playing it with an bad feeling in my guts the whole time thinking that you go behind the backs of these cute girls all the time.
This thing only ruins the game for me, shame... other than that, everything is really well made, very good writing, varity of characters, overall interesting plot with nice sidestories and so on... but the "you have to fuck every girl to progress" part ruins this for me.

There will be 35 purity routes in the future.
The future being like 3-5 years due to this game's super long development

The game is in the harem-style (but not actual harem) stage of development.
Selebus has indicated that after this is done, there will be a "dark" path, then once that stage of the story is done, you'll be able to pick a girl and play her story to a "purity" ending (where you're only pursuing that girl). But because this is the story of an absolutely terrible human, you have to grow INTO a person that would be exclusive with one girl first.
He has also said there will be no true harem ending.
he hasn't said exactly where we are on that trajectory yet, but I would suspect we're nearing the end of the harem-style stage.
I know it's common for VN readers to project themselves into the MC, but in this case, as awful as a person the MC is in all the content we have available, I would not reccomend that approach with this game.

It's ok, pal. Everyone should play what they want as long as they are ok with it. There are so many games I'd try but they fall under some tags I dislike. I would recommend keep looking for this game in case "pure" routes are implemented as told above.
The purity routes won't solve what his issue with the game is. He doesn't like the fact that you need to progress with every girl in the game to progress the story. And progressing with the girls includes cheating, manipulation and fucking them
To get to a purity route with one girl, he will have had to have done everything already with every single girl, including the probable terrible things that are to come in the story. It'll probably be over 300 or 400 hours worth of fucking with characters that he doesn't like in the first place
So the purity routes won't make him like the game. Because he wouldn't get to that stage in the first place

Because of Chinami's current status that I have read so far and how dark the various undertones are in this series is, I can easily see it as a flag for similar type of outcome.
Subeles sorry for bothering you but I seem to be having an issue with the fifth happy event. Despite the fact I already did the "Nightvision" quest with Mika long before the "Reset" main event and visiting the soccer field just before and in the middle of the reset loop, nothing different happens. I also can't seem to pray at the shrine while looping to increase affection with HOPE. Also when I proceed to complete "Reset" it shows in the tracker I failed despite already doing "Nightvision". I already followed the walkthrough and got every possible event before "Reset" arrived without using the in-game cheats. What am I overlooking that the walkthrough didn't explain?

and yeah iam a player that is building connections to the characters in the game, especially in VNs like this where you play just the MC. If i cant even relate a little bit (they dont need to have the same morals/ideals like me, there are others ways to "connect") its just not working for me. And there are many games out there where you activley cheat on "your" girl without permission and you hide it without a choice, like this one... and its not for me... i played many harem games around here, but its just another case if all is consent, or if its not. And here its clearly not the case... most of the girls are really falling in love, and the MC just bangs everything without deep feelings towards them, yeah he "cares" somehow, but thats it... and its not enough and certainly not for me.
Even if there will be an end to the game where i can "choose" to be with only one girl, its not gonna work... cause, lets face it, until than the MC banged 50 others and if the girl would knew that, she would burry herself, or the MC.
But with such a huge cast there's bound to be at least a girl (or more) that couldn't care less if you banged 50 others and actually gets a power trip by being the chosen one among all others in the end.
Of course this is just another thing, if the player's issue is that they feel bad about the whole unavoidable cheating angle, having one girl that's ok with it isn't gonna make you feel that much better about the 50 others that may be devastated if\when they learn they got cheated on.
For example, for some people the whole Ayane\Kirin situation was already too much.

I've seen people with similar issues. Hilariously, it's not the fact that mc is cheating manipulation douche, it's the fact that both him and the game itself openly and unapologetically acknowledge it.
It's ok, not everything is for everyone.

I think when the purity route(s) come out, I think it'll paint Sensei in a different light. It's already been confirmed that EVERY route is canon, and they happen in a order, meaning that we'll see Sensei change and become a different person, committed to 1 girl at a time. Here are my predictions.
Harem - Will end with Sensei having every girl, but losing more and more mental stability, leading to...
DARK - Sensei is borderline insane and most of the time will do something he didn't want to ever do. Despite his shitty personality, he has morals, morals he said he would never pass, but his mental stability would be so low that he wouldn't even remember doing these acts.
Purity - Sensei, regaining a decent amount of stability of his mental facilities (way unknown) would be changed decently and try to pursue a girl one at a time (depending on the girl you choose.) Each save counts as a different time line.
Remember, these are just predictions.
Technically; there’s still a few other subscription places where both this game and others are available.
But I do think/agree that devs may as well reduce the level of engagement on Patreon to a bare minimum to prefer other platforms.
I’d also argue that technically; there aren’t anly lolis (in terms of age) in LiL. Perhaps a couple of loli-esque (and I’m including Chinami and Sara here). Patreon picking on this game due to age alone (IIRC; they said something about ‘aging up’ the characters?) would be outright retarded: I would point out two things:
Virtually every age or time interval avoided to the point of being a running joke (aside from one Niki and Sensi mention), and even the character bios (in game or in stats) only give a day/month for birthday/age.
More notably; the characters have been through uncountable numbers of reset loops which effectively add half a year each time. Chinami’s probaly retirement age by now.
I did say loli-esque, not loli-aged.
Seems to fit through appearance and interaction, aside from the alcohol. Or including the alcohol, even.
(Just extending on this point I know it's not specifically you I'm talking to)
If you dislike the idea of cheating on any of the characters then don't play... for now. Single person routes are a thing for the distant future once you've played the harem route. There is a story reason for this and if you don't like the themes that story brings up then just avoid it. Hey, technically there is nothing stopping you when the time comes just getting a save that starts at the purity routes but it would not be playing as intended and you will miss so much of value.
The Kirin and Ayane situation is problematic for marginally more significant reasons than cheating (which is already a pretty big deal), just saying.

I am glad to see people bringing complaints about this game. Most that come to game specific threads are consumed by the specific games the thread is about and refuse to critique it.
I think this is the problem with Patreon games. It is beneficial to make it just captivating of a start to get patrons/following with inflated promises then be continually mediocre enough to get people to keep paying in hopes it gets better.
I donated a year back and just recently decided to play. This game doesn't really respect the players time. So much of nothing happening that I honestly am surprised people are not bringing this up more (surprised people donate to have time wasted). Then I find out I am 70% done with current content but I feel I have played VNs 1/4th as long with more meaningful depth and content. This isn't about H stuff. It is about huge periods of no scenes or events even if you hit all the requirements.
Even more of a waste of time is the 'happy' scenes. Like wtf? How did no one complain about the middle school tier writing inside these events during first release? Specifically so it could be removed and never mentioned again as a stain on this title. Particularly a game that for the most part had decent writing for the cast, sometimes even really well done (I never excepted Chunibyo or similar real world things to be mentioned). The happy stuff is so painfully bad and anti-scary that it was a big factor to me bailing on this before seeing the story finished, something I never do. I also never skip scenes but skipped every happy scene after poorly written and set up first 'reset'. Happy scenes compounding the fact then I got to points where no actual dialogue happened for 5 minutes at a time, the same +1 affection loop to start next cycle to next +1 affection hoping a scene triggers. Just fuck off, stop wasting the players time.
I like the content (besides the terribly written 'happy' garbage) but the fact your choices barely matter at all and it is spread out over the most monotonous slow loop of single night choices, like no. Just no. It is already bloated to the point past slow and near dead stopped and more keeps coming. I can get over a huge part of the cast not being sexual (lmao in a wannabe harem game), the sameface the girls have, the scenes/events that literally lead no where for plot, the out of order scenes/dialogue when it happens, the creators poor attempt at existentialism, the attempted time loop/reset that is never properly setup, ... but the time wasting is just confusing with how many examples on renpy exist that avoid this.
People keep defending these poor choices, or better yet refuse to accept/acknowledge them. Injecting there is some deeper meaning to the writing when it shits the bed and has no setup (pretending there are deeper meanings here when there isn't writing to back it up doesn't make it true even if the creator says it might one day be true, are you Evangelion fans ffs???). The slow game gets longer and slower all the time and with no substance and reason to it. Sucks I will never get my time back wasted on expecting any resolution to anything that happens as the game swells up as a nothingburger.
