Can somebody please explain a few things for me.

What's the point in the game being split into two different versions?

Is it an in-progress rework?

Do the vast majority of people only use the "sex" version?

There used to be only NSFW version, the original Lessons in Love (XX.0). Since Patreon got strict about the game's content, Selebus had to make a SFW version (XX.5) called "The Legend of Huggy Boy" or something like that (it's the same as the original but lacks of sex and other things). You can try whatever you want, but I prefer the NSFW version (it makes much more sense)

Patreon came to Selebus in November and was like "your girls look too young, please change all the graphics if you want to stay on our platform." This is obviously insane, but Selebus also couldn't tell Patreon to just fuck off, because most of his income comes from Patreon. So instead he just made a Patreon-only version that cut out all the sex and aged the girls up in text. It's also very funny, because it's not really "canon" and so he felt free to just make all the characters completely fucking insane in their dialogue when he had to change it.

This cost him about a month of development time, which sucked, but is better than him going financially underwater.

So from now on, here's how it works:
* From Patreon: "Legend of the Huggy Boy", a SFW game about a teacher who lives with his certified public accountant and just wants to hug a succession of mentally deranged girls.
* From SubscribeStar, itch.io, and the yearly gamepass he sells on Shopify: "Lessons in Love", the same NSFW game that you've grown to know and love, now free to have actual loli content because he's not dealing with Patreon anymore, which I gather is a plus for some people (I find it intensely uncomfortable but whatever, the point of this game is how incredibly broken Sensei is).
* From the Discord: a conversion patch so people with Patreon subscriptions can turn their Legend of the Huggy Boy installations into Lessons in Love.

Both update at the same time. It was a ton of work to make Huggy Boy, but now that the old content is censored censoring the new content as he writes it doesn't cost much time.

No. You only need it to convert Huggy Boy into Lessons in Love. It looks from the front page like nobody even bothered uploading the 21p2 version of Huggy Boy.

Does the game take a massive dive in quality or something? Why is there heated, multi-paragraph dumps on how trash this game is? Is it just because you guys want more H-scenes?

If you like what the game's been selling, you will continue to like the game.

Hell yeah, it is good. Also, finally have a confirmation the Sensei was regularly molested and finally get to see that creepy school hallway, that's been taunting me for two years now.

It was also imo the most "wholesome Sensei" update, lmao. I was pretty surprised.

There WILL be a rework, but it has not started yet, and will only cover content in the first chapter. It will not likely split off into a seperate install file, but instead when a new update drops, the early scenes will be replaced by the reworked scenes.

For hours on end you just read, skipping days, catching up on some event in the hope of seeing some content
It's intuitively confusing, unfriendly and nasty, you don't know what to do, you don't know where to go or who to talk to, you just click on each location in turn, and then the next day just comes along, which goes the same way
So much text just makes your brain boil and you don't understand what's going on here.
I don't mean add a bunch of porn scenes and turn the game into a harem dump
But the amount of time you spend reading, catching events and skipping days doesn't pay off at all
I've had enough for 15 hours, I don't want to do it anymore, I'm sorry.
I appreciate the work done by the author and in no way want to offend anyone, including fans of the game, but this game is not for me

On a happier note, the Christmas update is looking very promising

I'm wondering if Sensei will face up to what he did against Molly, or manage to dodge it for a bit longer. I still feel pretty dark after the Halloween update

Seeing Maya in a Christmas costume soon will be the highlight for me

He will never be able to run from it forever, but believe me will he try.

I honestly feel bad for it. Half the times he can never control himself and he has repeatedly stated to himself that he'd never do anything like that. His mental stability is plummeting.

He's been avoiding her since Halloween, and if you try to visit her he just says no. It will be interesting to see if they wind up speaking at the Christmas party.

Apparently Yumi was one of the Christmas Dress poll winners, so THAT will be interesting.

Correct.

Go to your Lessons in Love folder, \game\saves, find the save, and use F95's Attach Files feature to attach it here.

Yeah, Selebus's versioning scheme is a little weird. It makes sense if you think about it as 0.21Part2.0 - you can see how that would come after 0.21Part1.5.
