First point I need to hit before the paragraph, you're assuming Ami's sanity is unraveling. There was more evidence that Ami's been aware of the resets the entire time and has been orchestrating stuff from behind the scenes. The more weight you grant to Ami over how much of this she's in control of, the less room she has to be acting on an emotional basis instead of a manipulative narcissistic basis. She's stated she's got some kind of goal, and that it's had to change recently and she can't get in the way of Akira trying to sleep with everyone. Someone like that doesn't get to use any kind of emotional response reasoning for whatever pain she's slinging around.
You can act on both a manipulative narcissistic basis and an emotional basis. The emotions would just surround your own feelings instead of anyone elses. Her entire argument with Akira was filled with emotion coming from her when she realized her plan didn't work out. The feelings come from her wanting to reach whatever goal she's reaching toward and her not being able to fully grasp it. There's also a reason I said unraveling sanity instead of straight-up insanity. She's still very much in control of her reactions, being able to traverse the resets needs at minimum that, but that doesn't change the fact she's on a razors edge to falling.
Main point, I don't get how Ami glazers keep ignoring how much of a shit she's being. She wanted to hurt Niki and you want me to ignore it because Akira's also doing something wrong? She manipulated Maya's date to get Akira invested in her for a night just to stop her getting laid but Akira fucked Noriko so its fine. Maya tried standing up to Ami this time and Ami threatened to delete her entire existence from a place of assumed authority, but she's been having a hard time of..things not going her way so that's ok then. Ami doesn't like Niki and wants to get rid of her by trying to shatter every piece of attachment Niki has to Akira, and we just excuse that because Akira had a moment where he showed his true self to Noriko, asked her to stop seeing him as anything but Akira, and Noriko responded by wanting to give herself to him? (If you recall, he didn't start trying to fuck her, Noriko pushed hard into the idea. Surprise surprise Noriko isn't innocent here either)
First, I'm not an Ami glazer. I just like the way she's written and how she's assumed the mantle of Antagonist. Heck, I didn't really much care for her for the first 2-and-a-half chapters since she was just basic bitch yandere. At least she's interesting now. I read her like she's an antagonist, therefore all the times where she's being a piece of shit, I like because she's assuming her role further and thriving in it and I want to see how or why and who takes her down in the end. I don't read this story like a lot of others do where they want Akira to get with someone. I want to see Akira leave this world altogether, leave the poor girls alone, and get the help he needs before he gives in to whatever supernatural forces are pushing square blocks into square holes.
Also, doesn't change the fact that if he kept it in his pants, Ami's plans would have been dashed, Niki would have still slept in his bed, and everything would have continued on fine. Why do you think me pointing this out means I'm excusing or justifying either of Akira's or Ami's actions in other scenes which I never brought up?
Also also, uhm, Noriko's a minor. Sure, resets or whatever, but mentally she still sees herself as a freshman in highschool. As an adult, if a minor comes onto you, you don't take their advances as they're not fully in control of their hormones and make stupid decisions which they'll come to regret in the future because of them. Noriko is just being a teenager with a massive crush, and Akira preys upon that to get what he wants. That's why he told her his story, so he could manipulate her further. He's an awful person and an unreliable narrator. Do you think he actually means what he says when he says he wants himself to stop sleeping with minors when his actions prove otherwise?
Nothing about the scenes that happened this update would have changed if they happened because Niki heard Akira is famously loud during sex. He'd still have finished 5 hour fuck session with Noriko, he'd still have told Niki that it would have been unfair to Noriko to stop when she came into the room. Ami could have been innocent and things would have played out the same. But she didn't, so she isn't. Ami tried to ruin Niki's day, Ami ruined Maya's date. And it ends up with things not going her way, life is finally good.
It would have changed if he just didn't fuck Niki's sister/minor/step-brother/minor/pupil/minor. What's fair to Noriko is not fucking her and potentially creating another Akira.
Ami's been a shithead to everyone for a while now, but Akira wasn't able to do anything about it last update when he got 12 choices of "I love Ami, I can't pick anyone else". This update happens and we finally get a moment of Akira standing up and defying her, even if it ends with him and seemingly you falling for her manipulative words before her storming out of the room and giving him the silent treatment. But you know, baby steps and all.
True, it's good that Akira is starting to see Ami for what she is, but that doesn't change the fact that he could have that, and also not damaging one of his healthier and non-problematic relationships. Ami and Akira are both shit people. I'd say Akira's worse cause his fragile pathetic self is what MADE Ami like she is, and therefore is the reason she's such a piece of shit during the resets. I just don't get how people can keep defending the man when he very obviously is written to be an awful pathetic person.
