Oh yeah they absolutely suck, LiL has the worst Koikatsu scenes of any game released for years.
They are absolutely awful.
Played a bit of Life's Payback recently and while the story is shite the sex scenes are absolutely fantastic and theres SO many.
Then you look at LiL's default ass scenes and its like :<

Ok by character development i mean "stop being a pedophile" i guess? But from hearing about purity routes does that mean he will stay a pedophile to the very end - just fixated on one child at a time instead of twenty?
Man, it's hard to quit though, the writing is so good...

This is objectively hilarious, how did you even reach this far when he fucks his niece in the first 10 minutes of the game. Selebus has said that all the characters will be romanceable eventually so make that 24 children instead of 20.
Laugh if you want, but i'm not afraid of dark themes or morally abhorrent characters. It’s fine as long as the author doesn’t try to justify it or pretend it’s morally redeemable. But the more I play the more it moves into "it's okay to be a pedo if you are """""""ethical"""""""" about it" territory.

Of course on the surface some characters and narrators are not condoning what is happening (which is a low bar but thanks for clearing it i guess). But doesn't the mere existence of "purity routes" imply at least some level of justification for Sensei? Like he still will groom a 15 year old child but this time he will be loyal to her and gentle and loving, and the author uses the word "pure" to describe it??
Admittedly I only recently learned about Selebus's roadmap for the game so I might be misunderstanding what "purity routes" are. Am I wrong here?

The theme of the story has always been a cycle of abuse and coming to terms with the realization that any attempt to justify it is a misunderstanding on the part of the victim, while contending with the reality of how fucked up people's lives can become as a result

We have no real clue wtf a purity route will entail, it could be as you describe, it could be about supporting them without abusing them, it could be about removing Akira from their lives and fixing their problems from the shadows... we have no fucking clue and neither do you, you're just assuming man... this game has never made even a slight justification for what Akira does, it has only ever described what he does as the actions of a predator...
