So at this point do you guys consider Paradolia a friend or a foe? I can't seem to get a read on this guy. So far he's been the nicest of the gods, but that doesn't say much. I really like him for some reason though. I would love to be his hommie.
Paraidolia is the most likeable out of the three because it is the only one that actually communicate with you in understandable manner. Wires barely talks and when it does it is always cryptic. HOPE on the other hand feels like pre recorded orders meant for someone else.

I though Wires was a silent hero for a while but my opinion of him changed with time.

So I am very confused. What is the purity route? Like we discussed before, I was pretty sure that missing some events would be fine, this throws quite a wrench into my game plan. Does anyone know how to change event flags with the URM so I can make two saves? I really don't want to go that far back and replay to make a green save.

I just want an ending where I can be everyones dad and Maya be the mom.

Routes, not route.

The purity routes are part of the roadmap. Once the main story is (almost) done Sel is planning to add an individual purity route for each girl - basically a retelling of the story in each instance where instead of being a big ole manwhore Akira actually dedicates himself to a single love interest. We don't really know how the purity routes will work out aside from that.

So you might get your wish to some extent there - several love interests are mothers after all (plus Touka is kind of one for Yasu lol) so maybe one or more of those will involve stepping into more of a fatherly role for the daughters. That might be my crippling need to adopt Yumi and Yasu talking though.

Ok, so I'm a bit late, I haven't had time to read .50 until now, and I just finished it.
First, I have a question. I'm on the red path. None of Sara's 3 events will clear this update; I know they're supposed to get crossed out, but they won't even do that. I'm just stuck with 3 Sara events that won't go away. Any ideas?

Next, I have some thoughts.

All in all, an interesting update, but not one of my favorites.

I will start .51 after I get the Sara thing sorted.

Yeah, it's a bug, if you didn't experience Nodokathon 2.0 those events are unavailable but they don't cross out like they're supposed to. There's a similar one in 0.51 if you're on the no-wizard red route. There's a bugfix patch but I don't think it's been posted here.

I guess I'll dive into 51 and hope for the best then. Thanks for the heads-up.

Imagine this just ends like Rance

wdym? Even if you think it has kinda lost its meaning, the game never puts anything Sensei does in a positive light. Unless you mean the purity routes? I really, REALLY, don't think there's gonna be a happy ending for Sensei, maybe just an ending, kinda like Punpun (though not to that level of despair, maybe).

He's probably talking about the "true ending" that comes after the purity routes

I don't think there's really much room to speculate on what the ending will be at this point, personally, I couldn't even begin to guess - especially since we're still in the dark about a lot of the religious/supernatural aspects.

I can't imagine it would be something like him settling down with everyone at once, but it's kind of funny to think about lol Sensei and his 35 families could all go live in Touka's mansion and have plenty of room to spare after all

I need a Rance X translation badly, it's the last game left for me to finish the series but there's no eng version yet

I'm also contemplating how a Lessons in Love Rance version would look like, like they did with Evenicle. I'd work on it if some day I had the coding power, might be worth learning some ren'py, but I am more of a music and writing type of guy.

We're probably closer to a LiL rpg than we are to that anyway, and I am not talking about the hot garbage that was Sensei Quest™

This reminded me that a few months ago while sleep-deprived I made a post about how an RPG based on LiL could go. Perception really rules us, I could've sworn I wrote that at an even earlier date. Anyway, a game like will probably never happen unless Sel decides to hand out the rights even if only for a non-canon game, so never sadly.

I was just kidding about the mom thing, I said it before a few pages ago, most of the cast I don't even want to see Akira get with, I just want him to be their dad and give them a hug. Mainly Yumi, Io, Nao, Sana, Miku, Tsukasa, and Yasu. Especially as of late, Sana, as I just finished 5.0. That little angel needs to be reeled back in real hard and ASAP. Not sure if it's really her actually being herself or some god shenanigans, but that little girl needs a stern talking to about how to treat your mom.

Stupid game. Making me feel and shit.

Still it's insane to me to think that Sel has even MORE content planned over just one ending. You said that the plan was to add specific routes when the game was winding down? Has he said those choices would be at the end of the game or would these be newly added past events you might have to replay to follow down particular girls endings? Once again, Ill probably need to learn how to manually change flags with the mod at some point unless I want to go back and fix all the scenes I either missed and needed or intentionally need to miss for the route I want to see.

Honestly, Selly is crazy, his mind is hard to understand, we still have a few more years until the end of chapter 4 and there will still be chapter 5 (which we have no idea how many years it will take to finish) and we will still have chapter 6 which will be the dark route and then the purity routes and the "true ending" like, there is a lot, a lot that he still has to do in this story and I have no idea if he will be able to make it good or something completely convoluted to make money, like, chapter 4 taking a few more years to finish is something that doesn't make sense, if chapter 4 was the end of the harem route I would understand, but no, we will still have chapter 5 of the harem route with only the sixth being the dark route, so there is still a lot left to happen, I can't see how Selly will make the story last so long, yes, of course there is still a lot happening and to happen, but not that much, only if he stops stalling and finally messes with the supernatural a lot more of the game.

The way this guy talks, you would almost believe that he is in fact writing Akira going down that path, but in reality it's been over 3 million words of "will he, won't he" meandering as he gives him constant justifications and many factors enabling him to do it, in extremely contrived ways too (like the whole Tsubasa arc currently going), while he himself displays inconsistent attitude towards it. Sel can never commit to whether he wants Akira to have a progression or regression arc and quite frankly it's gotten boring a long time ago, especially with how incoherent the transition between those mentalities is. Akira could be sinking in depravity one event, and in the next one he'd be acting like that never happened. It'd be one thing if this was Chapter 1 or even 2, but again, failure to commit to a direction of your protagonist and narrative in general after 3 million words is not impressive, to say the least.

It also seems to me like he's ignoring a lot of earlier implications that Akira felt such deep guilt for what he did to "the girl he's so obsessed with" that it would actually make sense for him not to go down that route again. But alas, this is coming from the writer who plays favorites and thinks the characters who have suffered the most are shitty people while the most privileged ones are the epitome of "kindness and empathy".
