I don't know when he started developing this game, so I'll use the start of this thread as the reference.

I made some (rough) calculations and estimated his total LiL income in these 17 years (give or take a few months) would be around US$ 3 million.
Assuming someone subscribed next month, they would be expected to spend at minimum $815 until LiL ended. That's the price of a reasonably decent laptop.

Coincidentally, it took James Joyce around 17 years to write Finnegans Wake.

Yeah I assume it will take at least a decade to finish and it's insane to think about it that way.

He has stated repeatedly that he expects the game to take another 5-6 years. Factoring in the time that has passed and the delays that have happened between the last time he said that and now, probably closer to 5.

I had assumed the development window was going to be 3 phases of equal length (another factor leading into my assumption we'd be seeing the phase shift before the end of this year). But if it's %70 harm, %20 dark, %10 purity (random numbers pulled out of my ass), for example, the dark phase may only take a year or two.

And as described, Purity routes are just a series of scenes that ties up a given character's route, and multiple purity endings could be added in a single update depending on how close to resolution each character is when they start.

Of course I suppose there's always the risk that he completely flips his lid over this site and others like it a few times between now and then causing a few delays whilst he goes full Bond villain. Mwah ha ha.

I'm not sure how I feel about this.

As for the melons, I'm still curious about why Maya loves Watermelons so much as they aren't exactly uncommon.

Best guess is that Sensei used Watermelons to seduce Maya back during the tutoring days, and it's caused her to equate them to feeling loved and happy.
