Welp since Sel's most recent cash grab is dead in the water I have used my pervert brain to conjure up a hypothetical new cash grab (that Sel may never see). I think Sel should try what-if h-scenes for previous existing situations next. Since we had to go back to a previous save to get the Alexis event I see no problem go back to for something more fulfilling. Like for instance what if Sel went in and did Wakana joining Niki and Sensei during 0.33 or Haruka actually seducing Molly in 0.40. If the stretch goal is reached he could go in and add those scenes. And he could obviously milk the more desired what if's for more money.

It's ultimately pointless to offer stretch goals, Selly's problem isn't what he can offer, it's accessing new potential players, he's only getting a small trickle of new eyes on his game since this thread got quarantined. His last effort to get more money was pretty much limited to his current patrons, and he can only squeeze so much out of them, the fact it was only temporary pretty much confirms this, once those who gave more saw the number wasn't increasing any further, why keep their increased pledge for no reward?

Selly pretty much fucked himself over, the game is still getting pirated as it was before his care package hissy fit and DRM revenge plot but now he doesn't even gain the benefit of advertisement from this site, not really, not by much, the occasional new subscriber willing to support the dev is counterbalanced by the slow loss in subscribers every dev suffers over time, people move on, pledge to new projects or their situation changes and cannot keep their pledges. His income has completely stagnated since the thread was quarantined and that isn't going to change unless some new website comes along that he can advertise through as he once did here, but why would that happen? For legit purpose there's steam (not an option) and to a far lesser extent, itchio, and for grey purposes there's F95 and a handful of other much smaller AVN sharing websites, the only prominent ones also having piracy.

The fact he tried to squeeze more out of his current patrons shows he has no other options and no ideas and whatever he has tried hasn't worked. Around 10k is what he's got unless something significant happens, speculating on what is pointless as any idea anyone can come up with is either a dead end or predicated on variables not present at the current time.

This is a good idea but it doesn't come with mixed feelings.

First of all, you can't do stuff like Molly being seduced by Haruka because you are closing a hipothetical writing point that was left on a cliffhanger, you can only do what-if scenarios on plot-lines which are already "closed" or "finished"

The first plausible what-if that comes to my mind is that one part where Sensei forced himself on Yumi and kissed her, this was way at the beginning of the game. The "could've been" situation here is What if Akira kept going and straight up raped her.

To make things easier to mentally materialize, imagine if Stomachache wasn't a choice event and the cannonical progression was Akira rejecting Io's offer; your what-if bonus content here would've been our boy Akira destroying her penis-flytrap.

Is this content you would want to see? Because most of those moments are in places where Akira has to control himself (Don't forget about the Wizards bro. Not like they can avoid Akira's hyper weapon for long)

I may be wrong but care packages arent something like this? It would end the same way.

He does them, we got them free, he angry, he send the "what-if" to hell cause we make him "lose" money, proceed to do a 300k word event about how piracy is bad and that can make people (him) to lose money and cant be able to pay rent (even making more than enough for months).

Yup. Stuff always gets pirated, the only thing you can control as an author is the availability levels of said piracy. And that mostly implies the devs working with the admins and mods of the pirate sites themselves, since I've seen some games where the first page links have some disclaimer of following the public release schedule of the dev, and to not leak before that time, and most users do tend to follow it. No idea how that ended up coming to be, but I assume it's something like that.

I have no idea how other people would be finding this game on here these days. I was searching games by top weighted rating for incest and this game kept popping up, but at like page 6 out of 90. The mega download limit kept me away from the game for a while on top of that too.

It's basically doing what you did plus people's signatures, there's no real other way to find the game here unless you already know of it and do a search.

I have no idea how other people would be finding this game on here these days. I was searching games by top weighted rating for incest and this game kept popping up, but at like page 6 out of 90. The mega download limit kept me away from the game for a while on top of that too.

The only reason I discovered Lessons in Love is because the dev of “Adventurer Trainer” and a couple of his supporters started talking about it on their thread. Apparently the dev was really inspired by LiL and gave his praises to Selebus as a talented writer.

Me, having already finished the current version of AT and looking for any new games to play, decided what the hell and did a search on it. Sure enough, there it was.

I downloaded it, not expecting much more than a quick way to pass the time before moving on to something else.

…Needless to say, LiL has had its claws in me ever since. I’ve never been more glad to be a KonoSuba fan.

Really glad I decided to play AT, because the domino effect it had led me to one of my favorite VNs. It also led me down the KK rabbit-hole, so there’s that too.

There are more a thousand little ways to find this game, my point was about volume, the routes remaining are a trickle compared to the sizeable stream he once had access to, and that trickle is barely enough to counteract the loss to natural evaporation.

Searched games by tags on this site, found this one.
I actually played VERY close to it's initial release, back when Ayane could be rejected in the bathroom. Found no animations as the tags implied and put it down for like a year before "checking back in" to see if that had changed.

While it definitely did, I can't say I was expecting what I got but the characters are just so good I had to stick around. I quit for a second time after the Molly halloween incident cause I couldn't handle it and found out that it was unavoidable, got a girlfriend shortly after so didnt touch the game again for several years before picking it back up like two weeks ago when the guide mod came out for 0.44 (Cause I did the original resets myself and fuck doing that again).

Really wonder where the game will go from here though, I remember Selebus on this thread saying the "harem" route was going to be the game we're playing now, also known as the "dark route" and that we'd get better endings with the girls after that but I see things have changed from such, and the dark route is apparently now Chap 5 - 10. Can only imagine how much worse things are going to get lmao.
