Rin homies may have reason to rejoice. Io Events 1/1, but Animations still at 1/2. First animation was completed at same time as Imani Events 1/1. Or he could just cuck everyone with another Chika/Rin yuri scene. Give the people the Rinsploosh, Celibass!
Can you share the changelogs? I thought we were getting 2 animations in 0.50, and just 1 bonus animation in 0.49.

If we're not getting animations in 0.50 now my Noriko dream is dead.

Yoyoyo everyone, a completely serious, apropos of nothing question, to Americans and non-Americans here, what's your opinion on American jokes in LiL? Cause now every time I see Touka just nonchalantly alluding to some random American star (hopefully it doesn't offend anyone here), I don't even bother searching it. I'm like "kay' another anachronism nobody cares" and just go over it. Anime references I'm expecting since it's a visual novel but American culture things...? Does anyone really get it and find it funny or humorous?
Lessons in Love is "ironic" Japanese media, and making American jokes is a staple of Japanese media. It's low hanging fruit, but scenes need filler sometimes so its fine.

That's what I thought it was, but they said animations 1/2 and io events 1/1 which doesn't track with these old changelogs. So either there's new changelogs on the lilcord or they're conflating update progress across both updates.

I know we're getting a yumi bonus animation in 0.49 so I wouldn't have been surprised by 1/1 but they said 1/2, and previous updates have shown that both the slow and fast sex version of animations are combined into 1 animation for update counts. 0.46's 2 animations being Imani and Kirin for example.

I must say that I'm very excited for 0.50, I may be exaggerating, but I believe that she will be very important.

Ami: She has shown herself to be extremely important, already knowing about the resets and the alternative timelines.

Maya, Ayane and Yumi have knowledge of the Resets (But I believe that Yumi's will be connected to Yuki's events.)

Yuki: We now have the information that she is declining because of cancer, so there is already a big plot for her.

Sara: Her events will probably also be focused on Yuki, I don't think that Selly will now enter her plot involving the gods, it will probably involve Yuki's cancer.

Noriko: She already had her first "happy event" going to another plane/dimension, which already leaves her as a possible future member of the apocalypse squad.

Niki: I believe that the events will be focused on her and Ami and maybe with Akira, the plot has already made it very clear that there will be some kind of fight between her and Sekai, so I think it will focus on that now and not so much on her and Akira.

As I said, I may be exaggerating, but I believe that this will be an update that will reveal some interesting and important information.

That reminds me, can you not lose affection points in this game?
I told noriko I'd kill her, and well, nothing happened

I don't really think it's a huge deal, I'm not American and the only thing I can think of that I didn't pick up on was Chuck-e-Cheese (which I can only assume is some sort of fast food place that sells fistfuls of cheese, probably fried) and it's hardly an important plot device. It's not like there's a constant barrage of obscure Americanisms through the whole story and any author's writing is obviously going to be coloured somewhat by their own culture - especially for something like this, it would be kind of weird to have like a million lines of dialogue from highschool girls and not have any of them ever make any kind of reference to what music they like or whatever lol
Chuck-e-Cheese is a giant, anthropomorphic rat (seriously) who is the mascot of a kid-friendly pizza restaurant chain of the same name. It also featured games where you could win tickets that could be exchanged for merchandise, usually requiring an investment of much more than the prize was actually worth. From what I understand, the pizza is pretty run-of-the-mill and the only reason to go there is to keep your kids entertained for a few hours.

Where I live, Chuck-E-Cheese serves alcohol, and there have been several occurrences of parents getting into drunken brawls there at kids' birthday parties.

And so it begins
Oh, not at all. His schedule has always been pretty consistent. 10 regular updates each year with 2 months of break. Sometimes a bit more if he releases a fat update, but it's always been consistent. Technically, the fanfest could count as an update, so the schedule hasn't been broken, just that the fanfest was... a thing.

That's been a normal modus operandi for him. Dude pushes out 60-80k words update every month and has maintained a stable schedule for over 5 years. A break 2 times a year is kinda warranted.
Yeah people don't really respect the need for breaks. If you want to argue lilfest fucked up a good schedule that's one thing, but the fact he plans breaks out a year in advance is top tier burnout prevention.

BEAUTIFUL, the Noriko seggs / invites in 0.50 dream is still alive. We're getting a "bonus" animation on top of the bonus animation, life is good.

I think this evokes a certain discussion about the notion of LiL being in a Japanese city (it's clearly not).

Back to the question, I think that it's there because Selebus is American and so is most of his target audience. I think we could do without it, but he's not a perfect author.

I didn't go search for Shohei Otani when he was brought up, and was honestly kind of annoyed that it lasted so long in that scene - but I was way more annoyed at the Bojack thing, and those are the moments that an editor would certainly delete from the final product because it's just Selebus not knowing when to either shut up, or how to convey his ideas properly through actual plot and characters, and instead pausing the game to throw a freeform at us.

Funnily enough, the “too American to be in Kumom-mi” moments I feel don’t come from any of the mentioned western reference, but the racial and gender stereotype awareness Sensei sometimes displays; one is how he responded to Wakana’s “No Imani” sign on her office door, the other is when Sensei said something like “way to go and perpetuate gender roles, [placeholder]” (I forgot where this comes from). For a deplorable person growing up exclusively in Japan, a place with high racial homogeneity and practices difficult-to-challenge gender roles, Sensei’s awareness is imo unusually high, high enough to have me think that “this feels like a US Selly thing and not a JP Sensei thing”.

Regardless, to me this is relatively the same as the rest of the brought up reference examples in the context of viewing experience: not really immersion breaking, not really serious, and not really affecting how I understand stories if I don’t get them.
