Well... I've caught up for the most part. Still haven't finished 0.50 but I feel like I'm getting tired of this shit.
I dunno lads, either I'm just tired tired, or Sel is losing his mojo. Chapter 4 has been the worst in terms of moving the plot forward. Ch1 gave us the world exposition, Ch2 tore Sensei down bit by bit, Ch3 rebuilt him in his own eyes and started sorta redemption arc (before spectacularly shattering it at the end) and Ch4 is... him being sad and dysfunctional?

I know Sel doesn't like upsetting the status-quo, but fuck me, something has to move in relation to the main fucking character! Or the story! Or anything at this point!

Chika losing her shit and breaking - good, yes, awesome - she is so fucking irrelevant now that it hurts.

Maya agreeing to learn shit about "old Maya" and actually being a supportive girlfriend - amazing, cool, yeah - that was stated how long ago? 3 updates? 4? Still hasn't done shit. Except agreeing to Ami threesome only to be molested by her during the reset and getting openly cucked.

Niki moving in and wanting to change something - holy fuck yes, that is very promising! - it didn't change shit. Invites are still a thing and Akira deflowered a girl on the couch while she's at home. And from what I've read - it's even less relevant now, coz Ami's a fucking cunt.

Ami being an insufferable incest goblin - hasn't she always been? Since like chapter 2? Della was one of the best events of Ch4 and I was hoping that Ami would see some change moving forward, but not "more of the same psycho manipulative bitch" change. That's not a fucking change, she literally was doing the same abusive shit in Chapter 3.

Sana turning into a nympho - yeaah, okay, a bit of a stretch, but sure - aaaand she's just unhinged now. I get being horny, I get being destructively horny, but that stunt at Sensei's house and with Sara in 0.49 is just... Not very believable. Molly is destructively horny, so she does stupid shit like trying to actively seduce her teacher, lashing out at a girl who's fucking her crush and rationalizing her own rape. Sana is like "fuck it we ball" and she's terrified of spaghetti. That's just bullshit.

Io is getting some characterization besides self-deprecation - awesome! Stomachache was extremely uncomfortable, on par with Lavender's Green - but she still feels like a side-character. Same with Uta.

Tsuneyo and divine stuff - yeah, great! - it didn't change shit globally.

Pros:
Tsubasa is interesting and mysterious.
Chinami/Tsukasa subplot was amazing. Shame it went fucking nowhere.
Rin finally stops being gay, hooray! Only took 5 years.
Yumi and her story is awesome, from patching things up with Akira to having Pareidolia sit in her head.
Kyoto is insanely good.
Sekai is really interesting.

The rest of the cast are doing jack shit for almost 2 years real time. Chapter 3 ended in October 2023.

You should finish 0.50. Consensus is "Finally, things are moving forward again"

Yes chapter 4 is the chapter of sadness, and I imagine we've still got another year at least. I wouldn't be surprised if 0.51 is going to be a relatively filler update. 0.50 was juggled around to be a heavy update after 2 months, and he's been signaling that something is going to happen at the beach.

So far 0.51 is the wizard update and now repercussions of 0.50

PS : maybe it's just me, but when Sensei talk about his brother, Nozomu appear like HOPE, didn't he? Maybe it's just the color, and the fact that Sensei says his brother was like a «God», but I don't know... that would explain why Ami is «powerful» and why Sekai still «exist».

Yuki's new design looks eerily similar to a character from Grow Old. Then Die. The game's page mysteriously disappeared so I can't post the similarity.

Not a big fan of this update outside of the Sara and Ayane part.
I'm just getting tired of the Ami stuff. It feels like I'm actually stuck in there with them in an eternal loop every time she's on the spot light.
You think she finally has some character growth when someone tries to have a heart to heart with her and three minutes later it's back to square one and the entire thing was just part of her grand master plan to isolate Sensei from everyone else and she wasn't really trying to hear any of what the other person she was talking to was saying.

Also the Maya and Ami thing kinda went nowhere pretty fast, huh? It seemed to be building up to something and then she just grew a pair and tries to end things before anything special really happens.

Not really sure what he was trying to do with Yuki as well, it seemed to get interesting and now I'm just wondering what the point of the gangbang scene was, especially after all the dozens of times we've heard about how the dad's kind of a bottom bitch and the other Yakuzas were afraid of Yuki. We already knew she was hitting rock bottom, this scene felt kinda unnecessary.

Oh, and back to Sana/Sara a bit. I liked how Molly and Ayane told her to cut that shit of abusing her mom since they lost their parents and know you should cherish your loved ones, but now I'm looking at how she keeps doing it and I'm remembering, didn't her god damn brother die and it was a massive part of her being overall sad since the start of the game? She should know better than this and yet she acts like she hasn't really lost any family. Doesn't help that she literally had her weird scene brother show up to die in her arms again not even a few updates ago.

Maybe too much showing and telling overall?

Plus, not to be that guy, but we saw (saw, not implied) four scenes of a LI having sex with someone else this update. That's straying too close to NTR for me.

I think I'm done. Thanks for everything guys, it's been a fun 5 years, but I don't think I'll miss it.

Give or take a couple of quarters, I think Sel said the game will be done by 2030.
