I don't think Selebus is stalling persay. The story is moving as it has to move regarding the end of the harem route. That means getting Akira to fuck everyone, for everyone to know about everyone else, and for a lot of threesomes to happen.

Anyway, I think we're seeing a consequence of a couple of factors. There are just way too many characters, there is a critical lack of planning, there have been some questionable story decisions, and Akira's not having enough of an "active" protagonist role.

And a last thing that certainly doesn't help is that LiL has always been about stalling, or rather not pursuing things any normal person would. Akira hardly ever does shit. "oh, I have found this hole to nothingness during my date with Io? better ignore it." - and he does that to everything since the first event of the game. Kind of upsetting, especially now.
Adding some to the stalling part and this is about the stage set for Ch4. This is the chapter that started with one of the gods living inside him. This is the chapter after Maya Prime, our unshakable constant of the universe, died. This is the chapter where many, many things have fundamentally changed. Somehow, despite all that, we still could only steadily confirm that there IS progress mainly by measuring body counts. Because hey hey hey! Things might have gone dark quickly but we ain’t done with harem route! Look at all these unexplored females!

Call me naive and greedy, but my expectation for Ch4 wasn’t set to “finish fucking all the girls (minus wizards because please anything but wizards)”. Instead, with this chapter’s opening, I was fully expecting the development to be more about resets, Maya, and Sensei’s mental struggle in a much larger, more frequent, and more meaningful scale. As it turns out, it would seem like the stage is set instead to mainly bring rapid mental decay to girls that haven’t received the D and expedite the process, aka finishing the harem route as the main, prioritized objective and nothing else, as anything else would “move things forward too quickly and reveal too much too early” even if it feels like the right thing to do in Ch4 (personal bias though, of course).

This is the part where the feeling of stalling comes in for me. Story moves in all directions but rarely forwards. No one is allowed to advance too much in directions easily done by normal human standards like you implied; Maki, Imani, even Akira to a certain degree. Any forward progress would likely to be once in the blue moon only and have a high tendency to backpaddle (looking at things with Maya and Akira’s personal growth and especially Akira’s personal growth).

So what will happen when writers need to maintain the same amount of updates without venturing out too much? It can’t be just the same light hearted shoujo manga drama as before anymore but it also can’t be anything that spills too much tea you know? What should they do to make treading water look intriguing? They make things wordier and more complicated than they have to, much like the talking pattern of the renowned writer SA Nagahara, delivering sentences at a composition of 10% useful information and 90% gibberish. But hey there are more words than Bible now!

at the very worst whatever ending he has in mind (or makes) for LiL is gonna be conclusive for all.
Do keep in mind that:

Selebus will continue making games in the same universe, albeit much shorter games. Thus, not everything can be revealed.
is the game dead?
The game updates, more or less, 10 months a year on the first day of the month.
But hey there are more words than Bible now!
I totally agree, but just to add something new to it: I do understand Selebus' relief of finally being able to reveal a couple of things to us that he has held back since the beginning of the game. Ami knowing everything since the start, the reason for Akira seeing Sekai as his savior, his relationship with his brother - and a lot more stuff to come. I get that point of "being happier with this chapter".

What I fail to get is the writing skill with which these things have been revealed, and, more importantly, the overall pacing - as you put very well. Dude has to account for 35+ characters, which means Akira cannot evolve because there's a huge queue of characters' arcs that have to conclude while he's still miserable. And that has overstayed its welcome.

Oh my bad, I was talking about absolutely horrible endings. As in, while you can make bad endings, it's pretty hard to make an ending that makes your fanbase want to pretend your entire game/show didn't exist, but those two somehow made it happen. I think that regardless of everything, unless Sel fumbls the ball pretty hard from an objective point of view, at the very worst whatever ending he has in mind (or makes) for LiL is gonna be conclusive for all.
Gotta give GoT some credit. It's not fair to say only its ending is bad. There's at least one entire season of garbage that goes along with it, and previous seasons before were getting worse and worse as they ran out of book material.

Mass Effect 3 is a better example of specifically the ending being shit. Even if 3 had its main plot be changed by other writers, everything in that series was coherent and peak up until Shepard reaches the citadel beam on earth, then it's a walking simulator for the rest of the game with a shoehorned confrontation between uncle cool guy and wannabe judas. Then the head writer inserts himself as a god child and gives you some vague shit options that look way too similar to each other.

I wonder if he'll age up Chinami and Tsukasa in their purity routes...
Absolutely not. The game will be dead before he's forced to do anything like that.

He said he wanted to something similar to another VN that I forgot the name of. Basically have multiple time periods in which where they are High Schoolers then one where they're adults. Nothing confirmed tho.

If they're your saves, the one reason for crashing would be messing with the code. This could come from care packages, or your own meddling, either through URM or straight up changing stuff. But the most likely would be care packages.

If they're someone else's saves, then it could be that the save is from a game that has something yours doesn't, most likely the guide mod. In that case, just install it.

Edit: I guess you could crash from your computer not being able to handle the game, but then it would likely crash from other games as well.
Urm might be the cause,as I only used it to change the name of akira(I know that's cringe) but I honestly could not give a single fuck of a brain cell for the care packages, but yeah they were my saves, might need to also uninstall the guide mod dang it, please tell me I can just press control and just wait 500 hours to get the place I was?(update 42 was the last time I managed to get to the end)

If you were doing the correct name change which is a 1 line edit that would be fine and it fixes itself each update

Guide mod is hella stable you can update and have old guide mod versions installed without issue

You can use the autovn mod to do the skips you're talking about and it will auto grant love and lust.

Save the error next time it happens.

This one brings up the theory that Ami was the original Maya again. Tinfoil incoming.

For those that don't remember, this was a theory that rose from Ami telling Maya that she stole her place (kind of). In that sense, Ami would have been the original companion to Akira throughout the resets (thus how she retains her memory). Then Maya came out of nowhere and took over that role (and did it poorly, in Ami's eyes).

That Nao has one eye from each could signify that she's the amalgamation of what the companion to Akira should be. Maybe even encompassing other girls that also have taken that role. Nao chan's real name is TEMPLATE 9, after all. Logic would dictate that there were 8 before her, maybe Ami and Maya were both previous templates...
