please for the love of god can we have a normal vanilla version of this game? lie without the doki doki literature club typa vibe pretty please? not really fan of horror but ive seen enough people recommending this game. and the visuals is honestly good but from what i see on this thread, i have concluded that this game will definitely scare the shit out of me so ill pass. (maybe they already exist and if so can you kindly drop the name so i can check it out.)

I recommend Minecraft. That way when you see a creeper you can say it's a Sensei Quest reference.

The scary stuff of the game is an important part of the game. Otherwise it's just a story of an adult fucking his students.

Because it's renpy you also have to change the saves in that test2 folder, the sync folder inside of that test2 folder, and your local install of the game. Otherwise the save will persist if it's newer.

I’m a bit sensitive to light—getting flashed too many times in a short period makes my eyes water. Someone in my community group managed to turn it off successfully, but I couldn’t get it to work using their method (setting all flash durations in the game to 0 via Visual Studio Code). So I wanted to check if anyone here on F95 has tried something similar. It’s really hard on the eyes when playing at night, and SEL doesn’t even bother with proper transitions anymore.

In script.rpy look for "define flash" and change the color there to color="#000". That turns it into a black flash. A quick look ingame and it felt alright to me.

You can also see sexfade and cumflash underneath it. If you find those flashes annoying you can change the color there too, but those ones last longer and might not hurt.

This will almost certainly not survive an update and you'll have to edit it manually. Don't be lazy and save a backup of the old script.rpy.

I just watched the film "The Voices" Selebus has on his twitter bio and I can see that it has a huge inspiration in LiL, especially the scenes where Akira is "glitching" and how the dog and cat that appear in the movie are unironically the biggest trace of the film's DNA in the game.

Redownloading 12gb every month sounds worse than finding some folders in the off chance that you want to artificially replace your saves. Update Patches are about 200-300mb. I also have no idea if Mac renpy saves aren't as stupid, mac port history implies it'd be worse.

ohhh actually I done it yesterday, with the VScode, I change the white flash playing time to 0, and now it show no flash anymore, but black flash sounds like a little better than none, I will try today,thx

I'd recommend swapping to black flash over flash time 0, just so you know that's what Sel was intending to show you. I have no idea how weird things might look if you got rid of the effect entirely. certain scenes where he flashes 3 images from the game twice before going to the next scene would turn into a 6 frame color mess and you lose potential lore if you want to go back and try to freeze the current frame (using H) to see what things might be relevant. It happens a lot with Maya and linking certain black screen white text messages to her.

The app itself is just a package that you can open in finder. Within a few subdirectories will be a game folder, and you can use the update patch there.

GOD DAMM, I've been rewinding them and trying to screenshot the bastards all this time.

It seems to be a screenshot mode so it hides the UI and keeps it at the current frame until you then take the screenshot. The white flash lasts 0.05 seconds, pretty quick but I can press space / click and then H immediately afterward, and then when I want to see the next frame I double press H and can usually see the next one in the time of one flash.

As some people said, this game is not scary. At least it doesnt have scary visuals, as in No monster or jumscares.

At the start of the game there are some visually disturbing scenes trying to set the tone of the story. And a warning as in there are more than cute girls in tgis game.

But they are not trying to be scary . Scary aspect of the game comes from totally normal looking scenes with added contex.

For example one of the most terrifying scene in this game was MC walking to a fleshlight, touching it while saying " i am gonna fuck you so hard". In any other porn game it would be funny. In this game? I had to step away from pc.

But i gotta say im not a really familiar with scary movies and games, so you may not get scared from the game. And im not a masochist, im not playing this game to get scared. I love this game for its characters, for its humor that makes me laugh, for its drama, for its sometimes questionable narrative choices.

It is a game i though "i will probably not like this but play a few hours anyway" but turned me into an addicted bastard waiting for the next update.
