Ok so I've been reading different parts of the thread and some of the reviews and I'm very confused on some aspects I'd like settled before I really try the game out. Normally I'd do more searching, but its nearly 3k pages, or I'd just play the game and see, but its apparently pretty big, or I'd dismiss it, but this might be something I'd really like. So all in all I have 3 questions.

1: Does the game shame you for playing it? I understand that doesn't hand-wave away the weirdness of a teacher fucking his students, and it has dark themes, and that's partially why I want to play it, but if it's one of those things where the game tries to make you feel bad about doing it, then I'm out.

2: How bad has it really gotten? I understand many people feel the writing took a dive in chapter 4, but how bad is it compared not to the rest of the game, but to other games here (like corrupted kingdoms, ripples or cosy cafe).

3: I see talk of "red/green paths" and "pure/dark" paths, and I can't tell if I'm having a stroke and just can't see the obvious, but what does that mean? This might be the dumbest question, but since I'm already asking I might as well.

Yes, even in the best the answer is kinda, and it's two things, with the first referring to whether you see ALL events (green) or miss on some based on your choices (red) though it also means some changes in the dialogue besides the missing events, and the second is due to the roadmap of the game where the common route is the harem route and the dark route, and the purity routes are just extra routes, with a true route after everything.

1. Not really, but it kinda pushes against the MC being a self insert for you. So you are not making the decisions for you but how you want the MC to act. You do get some points where it makes fun of you for avoiding the dark stuff. It is hard to explain without really getting into how the story plays out.

2. I haven't played the ones you mentioned, but I'd still put LiL in a top tier. I'm also one of the more positive posters here on how the game has progressed, so I might not be the best to answer this one. I will caution that if you are in it for lewd scenes and such, this is not for you. Those are frequently called the weakest part of the game

3. You have some choices in the game which can cause some events later on to be missed. When you complete an event, the ingame tracker turns the Event Green . But if you miss an event it will rename it and color it Red, including the strikethrough. So Green Path means not missing any event, Red Path means missing events. But sometimes the dialog changes from missing event makes things more interesting.

Oh and Harem/Dark/Purity routes mean stages in the game; not really stuff you have influence over. We are in the Harem route currently, will be followed by the Dark and then Purity routes.

If you wouldn't mind elaborating then I don't mind spoilers. Actually I'm a bit backwards in regards to that, as most often i only gain interest in a story after being spoiled because it becomes something "oh, how did it get there? what did that look like?" etc.

As for the lewd scenes: for a game like this I would see them kind of like a character moment more than a motivation for me to play. My main interest would be the developing relationships with the girls.

So the game does have a very supernatural aspect; with various entities (GOD, god, Gods) acting as like a narrator, along with the MC's own thoughts, and they will speak directly to you. You are not always in control of the choices and sometimes the game makes it look like you have a choice, but you actually don't. Some of those entities want you to screw everyone, others have different desires. They all jostle for control.

And thats a great way to treat the lewd scenes here.

I'm the same way when it comes to spoilers actually :ROFLMAO: I still try to respect other's opinions on them tho

I think it's worth a shot. The romance is pretty good all things considered but the MC is forced to have relationships with pretty much everyone simultaneously. The characters are all pretty well written, but some people might be turned off by the polyamorous aspect of the MC, even though each distinct relationship is generally pretty unique and special. Download the Guide mod, it helps a ton with keeping track of all the progression requirements to progress. Like I said before, all character's routes must be progressed to continue the main story and sometimes its not obvious who you're missing to start the next chapter.

Feel free to post your reactions and thoughts if that's something you're interested in. We only ask that you keep the posts organized with images and extensive blocks of texts in spoilers so the page doesn't get clogged up.

If you're wondering why people are making fun instead of answering you it's because we get this question constantly despite the fact that various saves are uploaded here regularly that can be found in two seconds with the search bar lol Moonflare even started posting an up to date green save with every update that drops to go with his trigger guide.
I kind of expected it as I know it's a common thing on this site.
Turns out that saves don't matter anyway as an error always pops up when using saves. Turns out that saves from other people mess everything up. Screenshot_20250821-025850.png Screenshot_20250821-025854.png

Wait, you can save in this? This changes everything! I can actually turn off my dedicated LiL PC that I had been leaving on 24/7!
You'll miss out on Halftone giving you a handjob if you make a save though, is it really worth it?

1) A little, in earnest in the ways you're talking about, and then the opposite way if you stick around and then make red path choices that supposedly minimize how much of a bad person you are. From your answers I've seen you should just push through and you'll find something to enjoy here.

2) There were a bunch of updates in a row this year that got to the point that some of the long time regulars here actually started breaking through the addiction we otherwise have to the game. If you had asked this question at a different time of day you'd have people telling you to run before you're stuck here forever. I think it's worth sticking around for at the moment. I would feel better giving you a more definitive answer after Christmalloween, important update drops at the end of the month, then Sel has a month long break, then second half of the update, then Christmalloween which probably is going to be better than the average update. Then we should have upcoming changelogs and an idea if things are going to be frustrating again or not.

Still better than most other games out there but the magic did break for a while. I made a few big predictions assuming a major character had a brain and was doing something across multiple updates with big foreshadowing. Turns out they were dumb and only had a surface level reaction to stuff entirely contained in the one update. I think 0.51 is Sel back on proper form and we'll find out whether it was accidental or not after these big event updates are done.

3) You've gotten good answers for 3.

I can't be bothered anymore... between save beggars and folks wanting the run down on content, i'm just over it, it never ends, every time someone bothers to help it makes no difference, they either keep asking questions/argue or are quickly replaced with the next knob, if they can't be bothered to read reviews or run a search, fuck em, i don't care.

That's probably because the save was made using mods you don't have lol

For Moonflare's you need the guide mod (and possibly dark mode? not sure how that affects saves but I'm pretty sure the save he uploaded was mine and I use dark mode) on your game. All the things listed in that error message seem to be layout related.

Almost certainly guide mod is missing. It would take a particularly anal person (or someone making a converter) to play through this game on green path without it.

The easiest way to put it is probably just quite simply that the main character isn't a self-insert. He's his own character (eventually) and has a distinct personality/background (though it's a while before that becomes clear) and most of the choices you get to make either aren't real choices, are there just for a bit of comedy or they're there to provide people a way to cut out certain chunks of content.

For example with that last point, you can choose to have him distance himself a bit from the younger characters and that cuts sexual content with them out of your playthrough; it's not the intended story but the creator didn't want to discourage potential subscribers by making that type of content mandatory

2: How bad has it really gotten? I understand many people feel the writing took a dive in chapter 4, but how bad is it compared not to the rest of the game, but to other games here (like corrupted kingdoms, ripples or cosy cafe).
Even just looking at chapter 4 I'd still rank it above pretty much everything else I've played on this site, and probably most VN's I've played in general. It's mainly just the pacing/progression that's an issue at the moment but as frustrating as it can be once you've caught up at least you're still getting well-written, substantial content on a more-or-less monthly basis which is a fuck of a lot more I can say for pretty much every other game I follow on this site.

In terms of the actual writing quality (as in the style and not just the story, character development, etc.) even the low points in chapter 4 are still head and shoulders above just about any similar game I can think of on this site.

Honestly you should just give it a go if you're that interested, it might be a long game but it probably won't take you long to figure out if it's for you or not.
