Sorry, had to get that theory/headcanon out of my system. Right, now that I actually read stuff, my thought is that Ami could be re previous iterations of the world. As for the abandoned school…I have to be very speculative here. School bells ringing from the bottom of the world? Wait, which school is at the bottom of the world?

Okay I am rambling yes, sorry if that wasted your time

No clue how this was overlooked. Sekai taught at Kumon-mi Academy. There are only 2 high schools in Kumon-mi, either Kumon-mi High or Kumon-mi Academy. That means Kumon-mi Academy HAS TO be the abandoned school, besides the fact that Kumon-mi High's rooftop looks nothing like the abandoned school's (from Baby Finches and other Happy Events like Trinity 1 and Letter T). Kumon-mi Academy sank in the sinkhole. We just found the sinkhole again with Io, and we *might* be getting down there soon.

oh my god Io you MVP we're gonna get down there and find some memories buried under our feet aren't we. everyone worship IO now!

again, sorry for the lack of organization, very sorry
Huh, I always assumed that "Baby Finches" was just Sensei's school from an unusual angle, but I took a closer look and you're right, it's the abandoned school. I can't believe I never noticed that before.

I don't think the abandoned school is Kumon-mi Academy. It's described as long-abandoned in the Chapter 1 happy events, at which point Kumon-mi Academy is still in use because the sinkhole hasn't happened yet. There are only two schools in Kumon-mi now, but that likely wasn't always true; remember the barrier only went up a couple of years before the game, and GPS shows the abandoned school as outside the barrier in Nodoka's "Beyond the Reach of God". There's an abandoned school (I think probably the same one) in the "third half of town" where Maya's festival takes place, which I talked about here. And here is an even older post talking about the abandoned school that you might be interested in.

I'm always happy to see new people joining in the theorizing here, keep it up.
I don't think Uta's explicitly stated her sexuality
She has in fact confirmed she swings both ways.

the fact that she actually stated that she's bi is making me dislike the interaction even more. Thanks for correcting me tho

There are two important points to this imo.

First is that, for better or worse, Selebus is heavily into yuri. As anyone would have noticed by now given the nigh constant "but Otoha and Maya would totally be a thing" that he insists on in-game (just to give one example). I don't particularly like it either, but nothing we can do about it.

Secondly, and more importantly, is that I don't think you really can write a harem realistically without yuri. Especially not one of this size. Although "realistically" might not be at the forefront of LiL romantic dynamics, it also is quite realistic that teenage girls in a world where the one dude is Akira (yikes) would be up to experiment with other girls too.

Im starting to think Otoha is subconsciously, only attratcted to girls that have had Sensei's dick in them. That's probably why she broke up with Rin. Sensei's weiner hasn't gone into any of Rin's holes. She can smell who and who hasn't had her "little brother's" penis in their mouth.

Otoha literally went from assaulting Niki to flirting with Maya, so I'm waiting for her to start getting into Sekai - cause all she does is apparently go after people that have been Akira's girlfriends.
Still waiting on the Sekai x Otoha development. I mean, she's already his onee-chan. Ghost step-mom/older sister combo when?

btw aramaug, do you recommend replaying the whole game often? my memory's like, really bad and so I suffer hard from recency bias in theorizing

Although, as a final note, given what we've seen in the last updates, I think one should not raise their hopes too much on amazing storytelling on that front. Selebus wants everyone to have sex and his ways to making that happen have been quite a mixed bag (looking at the latter Nodokathon 2 nonsense).
In an attempt to figure out whether the chapter is ending next update or not (I think not at this point), I had to count who is having sex with Akira. This reset it was 5, with Kaori getting reset sex and mutual masturbation and is probably due invite events, Nodoka getting invite events and Molly, Sana and Noriko getting sex names.

I count 9 main girls who aren't fucking Akira yet, not counting Miku (so Yumi, Rin, Maya, Yasu, Touka, Otoha, Tsuneyo, Uta and Io) and 9 side girls (Chinami, Karin, Yuki, Wakana, Osako, Tsubasa, Tsukasa, Rika and Nao-chan)

If we keep getting meaningful progress with 4 to 6 at a time per reset, we'd still need 4 more resets to fit them all. Two more resets of infinite spring aka an extra chapter's length, and two resets for Chapter 5 when Prime is back before Chapter 6 dark route.

The underlined have had sex with him as a milestone but otherwise do not engage.

I'm not mad about it, not even really disappointed, because I was already disappointed with basic stuff, and this was a long shot (although with enough evidence not to be tinfoil).

Edit: At the end of the day, what one can do? Write a story that doesn't have the issues that bother you, I guess. Although obviously I could never write LiL, that's just not a story I personally have to tell as a writer. It's likely people will see issues in my writing as well, but hopefully not things that make less sense in retrospect or underwhelming reveals.

Nor do I think Himawari getting a chat title means her name is locked to that yet. She was named in duress while the world was about to factory reset with Akira and Ayane inside of it. A true name reveal would come much closer to the climax of the game.

It just means she might take a more direct role in events and needs to be able to be referenced by Akira and the others. That name appearing for a long time in the game could have been done to make the name safe for Akira to learn while is brain is at risk of melting due to emotions, it's literally what he's told to think about when he's about to melt by Ami.

If you want any hope of starting to understand the lore, a second playthrough is basically a must. There's a ton of stuff you'll only pick up on once you have context from later in the game. Beyond that, it's really up to you. The story has enough depth and complexity that I think you'd still be noticing new things on a tenth playthrough, but of course there's a tradeoff in time investment.

If you're specifically asking what I've done: I read the game for the first time in spring 2024 and did a second playthrough pretty soon afterwards. I haven't replayed the full game since, but I do rewatch events pretty often, especially when I'm trying to piece together some specific thought. So there are many events I've only seen twice, but some I've probably seen 10+ times.

Yeah, I'm almost on my fifth and I still notice new things or find new things I just like. Didn't clock the abandoned school thing you were talking about earlier at all, for example. Honestly my second playthrough was even more enjoyable than my first for all the "oh shit" moments I had figuring things out, noticing foreshadowing, etc
