Idk if im fever dreaming it but isn't there an event where she pops up back in the orphanage and realizes she's stuck?
Is that before her full thanos snapping?
Once Maya is missing at the end of Chapter 2, you find her when Ayane can't see her and touch her, world reacts to that and she seemingly wakes up in the past during a tutoring session with Noriko, seemingly in a room that looks like the room with clocks pre clocks. Akira is using a weird voice and is cipher telling her to wake up while Noriko doesn't notice anything different. She fights back and wakes up.

There is a brief time during Holden Caulfield where we flash from Tsukasa and Chinami to loli Maya and Noriko talking about the same story.

There's a flashback during the first dorm wars of chapter 4 where they just have a flashback of Maya and Noriko during the tutoring days.

And during the 0.45 part 2 reset, Maya starts slipping through time with Akiras that aren't us, ending up in loli times with an Akira that is very aware of what she is and who he isn't, seemingly aligned with the staff of the simulation.

There is no other 'footage' of her in the past, just single images of her model across random scenes and occasional references to her past with dialogue from Noriko. No one else knows, even Ami seems unaware of the tutoring days.

Now how do i explain the existence loli maya and noriko?

Well i cant but even Maya can't explain how she exist.
Well we're already in conspiracy territory. Both characters have had hints that they aren't real in different ways.

He’s a teenage lolicon, duh.

I mean, given if he knew Noriko as a loli from his childhood…I wonder if he kept that image of a cute loli Loriko in his head or smth. I got nothing on Maya that can stick. At most she could just be some kid he actually tutored. I mean, nobody said a 16 y.o can’t make a few bucks teaching elementary schooler kids as a side job. It doesn’t have to be just his classmates, might as well be anyone he could know in his 16 y.o. identity.

Here's the line with emphasis added: "The girl with the me who is me who is Ami I am Ami." I think bold is Narrator Ami and underline is Ami Arakawa. Narrator Ami is inside Ami's head and conflates the two of them because of the infection that is driving them both mad, but they're not the same person. Narrator Ami remembers things like "our youth" together, she wasn't Akira's daughter/niece.

Maybe the theory we should really be talking about is that daagagsdgd and aramaug used to be the same person.
1758328055555.png I swear I never stumbled upon that post before you mentioned it. WHO ARE YOU?

More generalized thoughts on world and timeline coming soon but I should stop here by now.

Yes, we had a great debate about it when "Kyoto" came out. I was/am of the perspective that Selebus both fucked up and doesn't care. But there were just as many people on the "we have to wait and see" camp, and a few on "there's nothing wrong here" camp.

Revisiting the topic (kind of) after so many lows in terms of quality of writing (since then), and his straight-up acknowledging that he both doesn't plan 90% of the game/makes up stuff on the spot just because, I think we can find a common ground in "let's just not look into things deeply anymore" and try to enjoy the ride.

I actually came up with something similar myself and have been debating on whether to put it here or not. There's too many holes for it to be true, at least at face value, but I thought about posting something like "Anyone have any pet theories that they think are wrong but are clinging to anyways?"
I've been wondering if the Akira we see is just kid Akira fast-forwarded through time into adult Akira's body. He keeps on invoking a lot of language about how he's not truly grown-up, and even other characters have started to notice that too. At the time I came up with this theory, Akira's memories between childhood and the present were also a black hole that he can't recall, most importantly in that he has no idea why he's a teacher. He has no passion for it, no desire to even try at all. He literally just woke up as a teacher one day. The theory has been falling apart the last few updates after Sel has written Akira to have an inconsistent memory and has established that the viewer doesn't actually know what Akira does and does not remember. Also, it was pointed out by someone else earlier in the thread about how empty of a person Akira is, mindlessly following in Sekai's footsteps without much reflection, so there are plenty of other reasons that explain why Akira is like this besides time shenanigans.
In any rate, I'm still going to stick with this theory until Sel writes something that dispels it once and for all, just because I like it.

Noriko's timeline already doesn't make sense. If she's 13-14 years younger than Niki's established 29 but remembers watching Sensei/Niki get it on as early-mid teenagers the math already doesn't math. I wouldn't worry too much about it, I just assume that people here spend more time thinking about continuity and lore than Selebus ever has.
New theory: Noriko’s fake or Ami, that’s why

Damn, LiL is like Harry Potter :KEK:
Entire world works on suspension of disbelief and falls apart as soon as you start to look at it too closely.

Things are so easily retconned right now that it's hard to answer the question. I guess I'm still very much interested in shadow maya - that's not a theory per se (maybe if you connect it to narrator Maya), just something that never appeared again (shadow maya is a maya that appears hanging above Akira during "Frankincense" and never again).

I guess, by now, and especially after "Il cervo" we can just assume it means nothing. Or it was just some bullshit like "oh I wanted to represent the weight of Maya on his subconscious" or some shit from Selebus. But I'd still like it to mean something, as I guess is how we feel about lots of things.

Although I also guess that wanting for the name you give the baby to mean something is likely a point of convergence for many people.
