I remember when this was closer to an actual game than to a slideshow. Good times.
Updates like this one, where the whole story is completely on rails, have until now been the exception rather than the rule. We'll see how it goes from here. With the roadmap for the story that we were given, it does look like these might start being a thing.

I kind of agree that the sandbox-y parts are better, since they can give you a more drawn-out experience if you choose to play it that way (and the guides are always there if you don't or just need to get unstuck). But the writing has been consistently entertaining regardless of story format, and that is the most important thing for me.

Hell I gotta defend fanfest here a little. It's not like all the content in fanfest was bad, it's just that it ate a month of production, and that the timing turned a planned boring update and then a nice update before a break into a boring update and then a two month break before the somewhat big update after the event juggle.

Dorm wars tho. Highs were too thin, lows were boring and somehow didn't move the needle even though two adults watched him fuck one of the students while molly sat there. (And I was hoping your lust grinding would matter like it did in the first nodokathon)

If Sel can't figure out how to make Dorm Wars matter I'd rather he replace it with fanfest. (Though I'd prefer something relevant than either if he'd rather replace Dorm Wars)
Oh, I liked the Fan Fest too. I really wouldn't mind if Selebus did one every year, even with less content. As long as it has a "What If" like Forever Young and a "Q&A" session like he did with Times New Roman, I'd be more than satisfied.

Regarding the Dorm Wars, I agree with those who say they should either get a complete makeover or be replaced with some other event. Unless Akira returns to teaching at the school (which now seems much more likely), the Dorm Wars are pointless. One suggestion to replace them would be one of those spring/summer festivals that are so common in anime.

The existence of the Are You Happy Here Twitter is really boggling, after taking a thorough look through it.
The Are You Happy Here account is Kyoko's diary/journal and she somehow predates NiB and LiL. She mentions time and time again schizophrenically, that The Upside Down House is a prison and that she is constantly being watched. Death doesn't exist and time moves differently.

In a hex encoded message it reveals what the purpose of the Upside-down House is.

Whether the Upside Down House was created by Kyoko is up for debate. But Sel comments on the post this letter is in. Which I guess, makes him canon to the LiL extended universe???????? But Kyoko's many mentions of Shiori is interesting because, it implies that Shiori was once trapped or resided in the Upside Down House and was somehow able to get out. And Shiori refers to Kyoko in the past tense when looking at Nodoka. So this implies that she's been out of there for a minute.

There's also some audio clips that link to Sound Cloud. One of them is a distorted version of 'Daisy Bell' (the Daisy Daisy song) the other is a bunch of garbled junk, that I immediately clicked off of, before I summoned a demon. But in the little bit I did hear, it sounded to similar to the black cube that was speaking to Chika in her TSS.

Just some interesting tidbits I'd thought to share.

Maybe the joke is that the executives of the company are real

I remember Sel saying that he’s gonna make a game about UDH some time in the future and here I am just thinking how amazing it would be if the lore of that game is already decoded by the time the first update of that game releases
