Something I really liked about the scene is that Kirin tells her multiple times to not call her nicknames, and Haruka agrees, just to keep calling her nicknames. I thought it was a very good touch. It's not even registering to her what she's doing, and she keeps working against herself, that's how pathetic she was.

Well, to Maki she doesn't have explicit confirmation so he's not a known predator in her eyes.
