This pretty much sums up my thoughts on this. Akira's not exactly hyper-masculine himself (i.e in the over-the-top way one may expect from someone struggling with repressed sexuality or gender identity), I find the first line here more accurate in regards to his actual personality. As far as his reactions to being prodded about it go they're generally banterous, he doesn't lash out over it or devote any real time thinking about it or being sour about it in any instance I can think of. Even the Yuki bike scene doesn't stand out to me that much - if anything I'd say the opposite, the fact that he straight up told Yuki he felt emasculated instead of obfuscating or overcompensating in some way is the opposite of how you'd expect a character with a deep seated complex to act.You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. The only thing that really stands out to me is him dressing up in Sekai's clothes but on its own that seems more like a grief response.
Buuuuut like Moon said we still know essentially fuck all about his childhood and parents - or even really his brother - so I certainly don't rule any of these ideas out, but personally I don't think the groundwork is there right now. The idea that his sensitivity in regards to his masculinity is just the result of his childhood trauma makes the most sense given what we know about said trauma. I'm not saying they're insignificant or not worth looking at but at the same time none of the reactions he gives that I can think of really feel particularly out of the norm for any cis straight guy either.
My favourite is Yasu's adorable little rendition but the first song I think of would probably be Good Morning or 10C depending on what type of miserable I am that day lolYou don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
