"None of the women are without some severe faults in this game. Mallory does show a moment of kindness and respect when she feels she needs to tell the 'MC' the truth, but what was her motive?"
And this includes Ari's mother, of course, who gives her advice which further corrupts her by relieving her from feelings of guilt while projecting her own cope onto her daughter.
"She seems to legitimately want to be in a relationship with the boyfriend, but not be honest about her desires or her actions and does not want to stop any of her harmful behaviors."
At this point (on the NTS route) i would think part of her wants him just as an audience and above all as an ally/supporter as in the last scene of the last update. This is his new role in her sexuality. Even if she wouldn't admit this to herself or others, she acts this way and can't go back.
"Will the MC hold Ari accountable or will he continue to keep his head in the sand?"
I would guess there is no going back on the NTS route (and as a viewer I have to admit I would regret it, it's as beautiful a spectacle as for the viewer of a horror movie. And all the possibilities haven't been played out yet, not by a long shot). In order to push back, the MC would have to part ways with his kink or with Ari. He simply wouldn't want to do that, there ist no reason and no pride aat the moment from his perspective. He wants to be at her mercy right now, he doesn't care if she tells him everything. Presumably Ari would alter her course only if the pressure came from Tyrone or from shaming by her peers. And I guess the MC wouldn't even want that for her right now, would even try to protect her probably.
