I was not using the second bat, so that's definitely something I'll need to grab and try the fight again, my bad. Sounds like my issues with the combat are because I forgot about the call with Vaulty about the new version of the bat. When I get time to give the fight another whirl, I'll update my other post so that people seeing it know that I actually screwed myself by going in unprepared with an inferior weapon. Thanks for replying and being active on the forum and taking feedback on your work in progress. Keep up the good work on the game, it's one that I'm excited to see continue to develop over time!
EDIT: [This is a copy and paste from the edit I added to my original comment that the developer replied to, but I wanted to add it to this one as well just to ensure that I wasn't leaving an undeserved bad impression on a game that I ended up enjoying more after the dev was nice enough to consider my thoughts when I was the one who totally missed the opportunity to upgrade my weapon prior to the fight that made me leave my initial comment. Apologies for any spam this may cause in anyone's updates or additional reviews by the moderation team.] My issues with the combat were entirely my own fault, I didn't get the second version of the bat before trying the Mavis battle. After getting that weapon and its ability, I had a much better time getting through the boss fight and completed the rest of the 0.04 content without much issue. Deep Forest was a challenge in a good way, not too easy and took a bit of thinking as to which fights were worth fighting on the way to the next boss. Second boss was a close battle, but by no means unmanageable, even without the next tier of bats available at the upgrade station. As far as my thoughts on recovery items go, the developer said that balancing them is a struggle, and as someone who has a limited experience in RPGM from making my own game, I don't blame them a bit for having a tough time finding that balance point sweet spot. Artwork, animations, and overall content continued to be of consistently high quality and I'm very interested in seeing what Nyopan has in store for future updates. Great game from a developer that cares about quality feedback, and I can't wait to see what's to come. Mabel, in particular, is a highlight and my favorite character model so far. Cheers, respect, and apologies, from a bonehead who made a poor initial criticism when I was the one with a skill issue.

Sorry about this, this is an old known bug that affects some players. (Although most of the cases are people playing on their phones, something that I can't really support for now.)
That error is really annoying since I can't replicate it on my end, but thanks to some players that had this bug, I was able to identify the reason for it.
But sadly I can't really do anything about it for now, since it is an essential plugin that I can't remove.
If you are trying to use the phone menu by clicking at the top bar, you could try using the keyboard menu for it (just press X), or move to another map like the city/pool before opening the menu, these "fixes" worked for some players.
