Maybe the developer wants to showcase new skills, or why it took so long to code the entire thing, but for people who might want to skip the whole thing because of that "start new save" and "I've just bought a new rig", this is nightmare to skip with.
He just wants to make this update to look bigger than it is with all that slooooow transitions, hidden ui, repeating pictures and dialogues, 'click some random pixel' puzzles and his signature 'running from the rightmost location to the leftmost and back 999 times per day' quests.

He did the same shit way back in the first episode, purposely slowing down protagonist movement speed, so the players were forced to patch the game to remove that and make it at least barely playable.

Regarding the coding, he mostly just used plugins and workarounds created by another devs he doesn't even bother to credit. There is nothing to say `i worked my ass coding that for several months` even for a newbie with a bit of brains and internet connection.
