People, first, read what this update is, the entire beginning of the game got remade/reworked, it is NOT a simple update, there is ANOTHER UPDATE coming next week, it would be pointless to update the mod now.
Well, best to hold the horses, I'd say.
Did not try yet, but since latest version is creating a new folder in %appdata%, I would not place a bet on saves still being usable.

for some reason every time i copy it into the game folder and start the game i get missing image and black screen.

Any way we could get confirmation that the mod will be updated? Not trying to rush you, by all means take your time, I'm sure we all appreciate you. I just know that there have been other modders in the past that have dropped mods when things get reworked. I don't know exactly how much has changed in the beginning, but I wouldn't blame you if it ended up being too much of a headache.
Can confirm that previous mods don't work. And old save don't work either.

There is still another update coming next week, this is just a bugfix.
