As far as I'm concerned this is actually a great idea and more first time devs should do it.

Thank you, indeed this is a must, I've fucked up a few times between the different versions, and only now learned how to make a stable version that doesn't need someone to restart their game each time they play. Things you only learn when failing and improving.

The next project is much more ambitious, but I feel like I got the technical expertise to go for the next one now, but I will finish this one before moving to the next.

It shouldn't require a new save from version 0.4.2, but I have reworked the logic behind the game so it becomes more solid.
Feel free to use the new game option, and select where to start, if you played the last version, there is an option that starts right in the beginning of this patch.

Thank you Eleanorduval , indeed I noticed this with some of the comments, as this is my first game, I was not aware of some of the main preferences.
My main focus now is to finish the base story, then rework the choices along the way for the 1.0 version, giving more weight to the choices, and allowing the player to choose the interactions they want. All of this game for me is a learning experience, so for my next one I can execute it in a more polished way from the start.

At the current point, the story is quite linear, but before the final version is released, I want to rework some of the old renders, videos, add more branches to the story to make it a complete game.

Appreciate the tip, feel free to always give me feedback, I'm always willing to learn!

I prefer to make my own choice, and I play for the romance, so I might wait until you get a bit further along to see which girl you have chosen for the MC and whether it would work for me, before I start getting into it. If it ends up being someone I don't like, that would just kill it for me.

Might still check it out at some point if we find out who is chosen for the MC and if it's someone I at least feel some level of physical attraction to, but it feels like if you're not getting a choice, this really might as well be a kinetic novel.

Look at any popular AVN thread and you see people going on waifu wars with all kinds of different tier lists. We all simply have different preferences and though I can't speak for everyone, I personally avoid (most) kinetic novels because I play these to direct the narrative or step into the shoes of the MC, in a way, and enjoy making choices that matter and seeing how they play out.

As someone who also mostly plays for the romance (I avoid more "harem" games unless you can pick just one in them, and then I usually just pick my favorite), it would feel unrewarding for me to end up with someone I don't like as well. I know I'm not the MC, per se, and this is his, or the author's rather, story, but still... I just feel like if I'm going to play a kinetic novel, I might as well go watch a new TV show instead.

Hello everyone, and welcome new members!!!

0.6 is on the works, along side de re-editing of the videos for the 4k version, as the quality loss was too big to save space, that now it needs to be re-worked.

I have separated the rest of the current story into the next 3 updates, which will reach the end of the main road for the storyline, however as soon as I reach the end, I will then start branching the story, creating more choices so we can have a 1.0 version with more freedom of choices for you!

There is a lot to cover in the his new chapter, but a lot of the story will develop, we are going to meet some new characters, and "deepen" our relationship with others.

Yeah, for me, making choices and guiding the MC is what makes AVN's different from reading a book or watching a movie. Without the choices I'd rather watch a movie or read a book, because you get the finished product and don't have to wait for updates.

As much as I would like to say that I'm half way there, scenes 5 a 6 are a bit longer than the rest, so I would say that the renders of the next update are about 35% complete.

Hey Hey everyone, Quick update here!

I wanted to have finished with scene 5 and 6 of this update over this weekend, but scene 5 is probably the biggest scene I made since I started this game, so it is taking longer than I expected, it is however in the last few bits finally.

I will do my best to complete scene 5 by tomorrow, and start with scene 6 and finish it before Thursday, so it gives me enough time to finish with the code and audio by the end of the next weekend.

So if everything goes according to my schedule, I should have update 0.6 available to paid subscribers over the weekend, and the week after available for free!

Hey hey everyone,

Quick update on the patch 0.6, we are almost there tomorrow I should be finishing with scene 6/6 and start adding the images to the game itself. The code is ready, but still will need some testing, adjustments and perhaps new audio files for some of the scenes.

Because I want to increase the quality of the sound during animations, I will most likely create separate audio files for the +18 scenes. Some will be ready for this update, but most for the next one.

Yeeha!!!!! Took me more time than I wanted and my sanity allowed, but this update is now complete, new map design, a ton of new renders and animations, 6 new scenes, one being the largest one so far, and 2 more updates to complete the main story of Life is Vanilla!

As always, paid subscribers get the first chance to download and play (link further down below), and next week I will be releasing the 1080p version of the game to all, here, at F95 and Itch
