Because, sometimes, ultra-realistic graphics aren't the point of the game. Also, when you're an indie developer with limited experience, time, money and or resources, there may come a point where sacrifices have to be made - for the sake of the project and your own health/sanity. LifePlay is an indie, sandbox + sim + porn game being made by a single guy that barely gets f* all for all his work. How is someone supposed to make a masterpiece with only 200$ a month?You know for being a Unreal 4 project why does the characters look like last gen models.
This game gets frequent and consistent updates and it just keeps getting better over time, despite all limitations. If only we could say the same about every patreon project out there...
