I think how the camera quality wend up, the quality of x-rated movies went down. I was young in 80', but if I compare it to today it's just stupid. Things are getting worse, every year. Some stupid movement and rules are there just to make it even worse.
When you opened any daily newspaper, titties. Their parents fought for that in 60' or 70'. Nobody was upset. Today is just like the clock go backwards.
But on the other side, today kids are just following some stupid challenges and get injured or worse. The easiest way to get killed in traffic is to read it on your smartphone about somebody someone else was killed in traffic accident while crossing the road.

I think game in the 17 month range now and site rules say 18 months without new episode. Regardless, production is almost complete so it should be out before long.

There are at least 190 games currently awaiting an update with longer development cycles than this. That's not counting those in the past. As mentioned by Kellermann in the previous post, LOML is currently at 17 months.

I think the best thing of that era is that a full-blown porn experience was not granted. You had to look for it, and be resourceful (the family VHS was not available on a whim, after all), and in many cases make do with what you had. And if you got a taste for it, you didn't have all the porn in the world at your disposal: every experience was probably difficult to obtain and numbered, and this made it unique and flavorful on its own. This also made reviews and "curated content" (even if only by word of mouth) all the more valuable.
Trying to be objective, what I don't miss are soundtracks and dubbings: I much prefer direct capture. But it's a small blemish, especially compared to today's affairs (some actors and actresses screech so much, and so vapidly, they're an automatic turn off).
Now for today's offering: it's plentiful, and convenient, of course. But it's also like chewing some gum: the taste fades quick, and you're soon left with some flavorless gunk. Sometimes you want a gourmet meal, is all.

No, it's not. Netorare is meant to cause pain, jealousy, or other such feelings. None of the women in the game that the MC can be intimate with are doing anything to cause such feelings.

Yeah, I feel you. Every time someone asks for a savegame, the same responses come. I'm not entirely guilt-free on that, though, but I guess I've changed my mind. Some people here insist there's only one right way to play the game, and anyone who doesn't do that "should go play something else maybe". Well, that's a little dismissive isn't it? Using myself as an example, I've already played the game and I think it's incredibly well-written and good... but it's also really, really, REALLY heavy on text and pretty light on the sex scenes (so far, anyways). I LOVE the story, the characters, the sex scenes that we have, and I, too, got more out of the scenes having read the setup to it (the setup was still far too long for my tastes, but still I adore it), BUT... the problem is that if I'm missing a savegame or just want to revisit a scene (WITH text), I also don't look forward to the idea of committing an hours-long setup all over again; the idea just totally deflates any sexy mood I've built up because the setup is just way too long if you're looking to rub one out, especially if you already remember the gist of the story and interactions (I'm aware some of you think that isn't the point of VNs, or at least VNs like this, but that's entirely subjective and pointless to debate).
Given all that, savegames or skipping are currently the only ways to resolve that and I don't think it's fair to lecture or berate someone's request when it's so easy to just ignore them and move on if you really don't want to help. I realize author is concerned about people moaning about issues with the game experience and all because they don't realize that using someone else's savegame could entirely be the culprit of their issues, makes perfect sense, but people are gonna do what they do regardless, may as well let them resistance-free imo.

I can agree ignoring requests like this is usually the best. Still, in the best interest of anyone who suffers the Plague of the Lost Save, it is useful to know that Renpy has a feature available in most games called "Skip to the next choice", that can reduce a full playthrough to a matter of minutes. Knowledge is power!
