Last update I read on the thread about a week and half ago was dev was looking at mid-late June release.
I question this. Naughty does not and have never made any statements about "when" unless he's dead certain about an approximate time, which will not be there until time is "imminent". He's kinda famous and imfamous for not promising deadlines.

You are correct. I think I got the release plan of Deset Stalker confused with this. My bad. Will update the earlier comment.

Do you really think someone (assuming they played fairly well in before) would want to start all the way from the beginning, including the boring parts? This is a HUGE game and almost all AVNs the beginning is boring (ie no sex scenes.)
Boring to you... If the non sex parts don't do it for you there is other media that's like only about the sex... For some of us the non sex parts make the eventual sex parts WAY more enjoyable.

I really think some of these people would be better off just watching real porn rather than expecting AVNs to have the same density of sex acts and lack of story.

Except they shouldn't watch any adult movies prior to 1984, because during the golden era of porn movies there were actually scripts to many of the films.

I wish I wasn't so unattracted to the look of most 80s and earlier women, or grainy footage.

Absolutely. I don't wanna sound too pedantic, but AVNs are predominantly based on written words ("novel") as a medium. If you don't enjoy reading, and you resort to skim through the text to reach a handful of sexy images or a few seconds loop animation, you're probably looking in the wrong place for sexual gratification.
Granted, many AVNs suffer from an overabundance of text. And being a visual medium, the balance between the visual and written part of AVNs can differ, according to preference and skill of both the writer and the graphic artist, especially if they are the same person. That's where the personal taste of the player comes in. But if one's premise is "I don't like reading, I like to look at the sexy pictures", he will be let down most of the time, and he shouldn't be surprised that other people can enjoy reading some text and find it as stimulating as the visuals, and prefer their AVNs like that.

Yep. Some were absolutely slap stick at times, others were highly dramatic costume period movies. Katharina und ihre wilden hengste (Kim Novak) comes to mind. Some versions of this movie had a duration of more than 2 hours

Very true. In the days when they thought they were ushering in a new age where explicit sex was an acceptable part of mainstream movies. Outside of Europe, it's been few and far between.

That's why I like to watch those from time to time. Low resolution, but a refreshing change. One of my favorite movies that tried to be explicit and mainstream was Alice in Wonderland.

But yes, once all one needed was a video camera, the market became flooded with flimsier and flimsier stories. That's how I view the modern trend of step-fantasy. All shot in one house without having to explain why the people involved are in the same house.
I cant even watch non storyline porn it's just not compelling enough for me. I need at least something emotional to hang the sexy times on.
I know what you mean. I will watch hours of modern porn until I find something that sparks my libido. Sometimes it is story, sometimes there's something about the chemistry. I ended up subscribing to the original Dare Ring videos and liked that amateur feel. I keep thinking about subscribing to Lost Bets, and I did go with Ersties because it is usually about people having fun.

One thing I look for is actresses who look like they are genuinely enjoying their work. Aaliyah Love, Natasha Nice, Lena Paul, and Nala Brooks are some good examples, IMHO.
I have to admit. I never did follow her, but I find it a bit difficult to view those actresses who took their own lives. A part of my mind always remembers.

There were a lot of them! Not only Alice in Wonderland above, but many others. Barbara Broadcast was cute showing an alternative earth where sex was a very casual thing, sometimes offered on the menu of trendy restaurants. One of my favorite stars of the gold age was Annie Sprinkles. I follow her and her wife on Facebook and even met her at my place of employment one time. She's a kick.

Yeah, quality went straight to shit with VHS to appeal to the lowest common denominator (and to get as many copies into as many VCRs as possible). Few USA films match the old classics like "Behind the Green Door," "The Devil in Miss Jones," "Alice in Wonderland: An X-Rated Musical Fantasy," or even "Insatiable." Though exceptions exist, one being "Pirates" (2005).

I still need to see Pirates one day.

One good thing about the move to video--it was harder for the mob to control it. Back in the day, they were often the only ones who would process the film. At least on the east coast. I don't know if it was the same in San Francisco (where Behind the Green Door was made).
