this post is beyond awesome lol. probably the best long post I ever saw a dev make in regards to his game. I legit LOLed in many parts, and am currently downloading the game (and not the walkthrough mod of course!) because of it. If the sense of humor in this game is as good as it is in this post then I am definitely in for a pretty good time XD.
PS: Congrats to the Dev is also in order for the honorary mention in the "best dev of 2020" list

Ok, so I finished the game a few hours ago and would like to write my thoughts about it and the things I personally liked and disliked. My personal thoughts if you will.
First though, just wanted to clearly state that the story is quite well written and enjoyable and I am definitely looking forward to more of it.
-Because of the post above I actually thought the story would have far more comedy in it. this one is on me I guess, but his writing in that post was so funny that I was looking forward to way more of it. after playing I do realize that it wouldn't have fit in this type of story, but I definitely hope the dev makes a comedy game after this one. I think it will turn out great

-Denise was awesome in every way. Incredible work on her personality. calling her "Angel" and having her wear a cute Angel T-shirt was very fitting. Truly great character

-Macy on the other hand... I didn't like my options with her at all. I felt that the options for dealing with her were "be an extreme joke of a father" and "be a less extreme, but still very much a joke, father". I wanted way sterner dialog and way harsher options to deal with someone who was obviously steered very very much in the wrong direction for a long while, which is clear from her attitude, the way she speaks and acts, what she has on her body, everything about her really. you don't deal with someone like that by calling them princess and saying "language" when they say "f***" (and sometimes even, not all the time).
Now, I think the fact that this pissed me off so much is in its self a testament to the writing making me very much care about these characters, which is definitely not common in games with a similar premise. and I will say that things very much improved as the relationship improved. I didn't get much harsher options, but there was gradually less and less of a need for much harsher options as many of the things I found fault with about her were improved alongside the relationship (not all though, but enough of them). Still, I believe the option for much sterner and harsher dealings with her should have been provided.
-the few other characters are enjoyable for what they are. none of them are really fleshed out, but they don't need to. They do their roles sufficiently. I did enjoy the antics of the Zarah, Sara, and Sierra trio though!
also, was Vicky from another game or talking about specific other games? everything about her seemed so random that I thought she must have been an "alien visitor" to this world lol.
-quite like the Pirate scene! The message sent through it was awesome and well sent
. I do think it and scenes like it would have been better placed in a "bonus scenes" category in order to not interrupt the game's serious mode with their 4th wall smashing, but that is admittedly a minor nitpick.
-I did like the way the game reused a lot of the CGs in an organic way. CG reusing almost always feels cheap and annoying, but not here because establishing a clear cycle for the day meant that it made sense for the CGs to be reused, which reduced development time while also not having a detrimental effect on quality, so smart decision there!
So a couple annoying things, but overall great work, especially when you consider that it is a single dev working on it. deserves a salute!
