This week in one rambling sentence: put a running blogpost up on Patreon/Subscribestar detailing the work that still needs doing to release Chapter 8, but I feel I got most of the wrinkles ironed out of the mechanisms to carry choices from chapters 1-7 to chapter 8, and tackled two graphics glitches in ren'py 8.3.3 that gave me a bit of a scare (one is a dud, the other easily fixed once identified), so next it's a matter of thoroughly testing the service update and actually pushing it out.

I've just released a service release for Chapters 1-7 that does not contain any new content. Chapter 8 is coming soon(tm), and this is not it.

Note for Android users: to create the export of your choices for chapter 8, upgrade to Light of my Life version 1.0.1 (without uninstalling first), load the the "save here" save at the end of chapter 7, continue the game and follow onscreen instructions. If you don't have that save, just load an earlier save and play on through until you come to the point where it exports (after the bonus scene, right before the ending credits).

For PC/Linux/Mac users: if you played through chapter 7 using version 1.0.0 and the game informed you it made exports, you don't need to use this version and are all set to carry your choices over to chapter 8. If you played through chapter 7 using an older version, please get version 1.0.1 and load the the "save here" save at the end of chapter 7, and continue until you see a notification about making an end-of-chapter autosave and exporting choices. If you don't have that save, just load an earlier save and play on through until you come to the point where it exports (after the bonus scene, right before the ending credits).

Don't know how you weren't able to see it if you played through at least chapter 6 - unless you didn't. Or you locked Denise out by choosing not to advance anything with Macy.

If you're only wanting to see the scenes (through chapter 6) - just start a new playthrough and answer 3 questions. See video here: #10,598

good thing i checked in on the thread, pretty sure i dont have a 1.01 chapter 7 save. think about how depressing christmas would be if chapter 8 was released and i went to play only to realize my save is no good. id probably have to murder santa, which would suck cause i dont have snow clothes and id likely get frostbite in my rampage, losing my mouse clicking finger.

I'm just thinking about how much th thread will be flooded with people asking about saves compatibility. I just hope Naughty will have some kind of message and links at the start of 0.8 to help players to get to the right point in ch7 1.0.1. And even then we will need to do some customer service here.

This week in one sentence: chapters 1-7 1.0.1 is shipped out, chapter 8 android version is prepped, beta signup poll is live, we got achievements, and I'm halfway through my happy path run fixing stuff as I go. Next up, getting this thing in a good enough shape to start a beta with.
