Low and behold, it's another "update", and shocking news. She's adding another feature in the game that is not only unneeded, but it's something that's a fucking nightmare to code for her. Apparently she was trying to make it so we could record and edit sex scenes within the game itself which...

Just... why???
What purpose is this feature for? Like in the actual game's setting or system. That just sounds like more feature creep/scope creep.
Not everything you have planned in the backend needs to be a thing Inno. Some shit that is not doable gets scrapped, that sounds like it should've been scrapped to hell's bleeding asshole.
This is only bringing pain and misery to Inno and to get THAT as an update in that she was slaving over something she did not need to slave over when she even admits she should've just focused on the main story stuff (tho as said who knows if that's even doable without fucking your game up bc of the afformentioned chaos that is the code...) is baffling. I have no coding skills whatsoever to go "fuck this" but man if I ever attempt shit I hope I never do what she's been doing.

Okay, this was bad enough to make me come out of hibernation. In a nutshell:
  1. Store the character data.
  2. Store the RNG seed (pretty sure LT uses random messages).
  3. Store the selected actions in order.
  4. When you want to replay it, save the CURRENT state, load the saved state, replay, then reload the current state when it's done.
Hell, considering how thoroughly LT abuses Java enums it could probably just take the ultra-naïve approach and save the action data along with the character data to future-proof everything.

Trying to do this using string parsing is like trying to hammer in a nail using a pair of slippers. You might be able to eventually succeed if you smack it enough, but it's going to take a ton of effort and the end result isn't going to be great.

I'm sure LT's storied codebase would cause a few edge cases to crop up, but it kinda seems like the excessive amount of otherwise-wasted dev time would be better spent on a refactor.

What purpose is this feature for? Like in the actual game's setting or system. That just sounds like more feature creep/scope creep.
Also…this, lmao

I can't remember all of the "juicy lore" of this game's terrible development cycle but assuming life isn't biting her in the fucking ass constantly 24/7 bc that is not possible unless you're somehow despite that funding so in poverty you cannot do shit with the game, the best answer I can give is Inno doesn't know how to Lock In on her own damn game that she's being payed for and has been for many months and years now with a massive following. I was playing when they game was not as bloated as it is now, long before it even had its slavery system, that was YEARS ago and I feel like outside of witnessing that bloat in the settings, the actual game itself hasn't changed much if at all. And that is a bad thing.

This game is supposed to be a full-time job, she gets more than enough to sustain herself, and yet the majority of "updates" have been "Oh sorry but the next update will have to be pushed back further bc *insert life excuse here*" and whatnot.
She doesn't know how to focus on the game, idfk what she has going on but even people with ADHD can get something done if it's of their interest. Story updates are dead bc she won't do the story stuff to move things along, I haven't seen many character updates even outside the damn cat romance quest that I heard was executed terribly. Otherwise it's been bugfixes and the like, but nothing you can actually wanna bite into.

The other issue is she keeps setting these self-proclaimed deadlines that clearly hurt more than they help. Speaking as a procrastinator myself: If you cannot stick to your own damn personal deadlines, literally just stop fucking giving yourself deadlines. A deadline will not make you work faster, it's just putting a time limit on yourself and heavy expectations to achieve what you set out to in that timeframe and when it comes around and you have jack shit WHOOPSIE gotta make up an excuse to her audience paying her for this game and hoping for something to chew on now. And this happens so much I as a long-time procrastinator who only gets things done on my own time actually facepalms so much when I see this.

This is especially damning given she is being paid monthly for this, and her supporters basically get no food in return for giving her money, so to speak. She's starving them.

I'm not saying do the shitty secretly-tiny updates that are so small but are made to sound bigger than they actually are ala CoC2's shitty updates to reach that quota. But Inno needs to stop procrastinating when she's supposed to set out to do what she says she does, and stop giving deadlines to herself that she KNOWS she won't be able to accomplish.

And Imma stress the deadline thing tbh bc no deadlines are better than deadlines you constantly fail to uphold at this point. The thing with THAT now is that without deadlines, we probably wouldn't be getting any updates period bc she will do these long stretches of nothingburger coding with nothing to actually show for it. Assuming you're not doing monthly updates, even smaller smut game devs without deadlines will stuff updates full of content when they come back to life, bc they can work without that pressure. The only pressure is to give a good update to their game for their players, something everyone who creates anything longform deals with. I draw, not for a living, but I create digital art shit and have for over a decade now, sometimes I can make deadlines for drawing events on social media to bring artists together for a singular interest, sometimes I can't, I am aware I can't 100% that so I try not to do that to myself. Unless you're that punctual it will give you a damn migraine.

She also refuses to have anyone help her, and has been doing the majority of this shit herself. I betcha had she got a coding team, she could focus on the actual writing, and they can do the extra heavy lifting, but she refuses to even give that out. She's so insistent on doing this herself, and it's eating into her business. And the game is such spaghetti code now that I bet nobody who does wanna help code even wants to touch that minefield the moment they see it, so that renders a code team potentially moot to get. Nobody wants to clean up a proverbial minefield.

Inno bit off more than she could chew and has been taking advantage of her excuses for eons now. She either needs to accept she needs help, lock the fuck in, or abandon all hope to ye who expects this game to be remotely halfway through at this point.

Honestly, looking back on it, this game has been in development for so long I went from being single and still living at home, to having my own home, getting married and having multiple kids.

And the game has barely lurched along, its been almost a decade, even as a solo dev, this game is 98% text, the only thing she really needs outside help with is art and even that could have waited until the game it finished.

My kids might legit graduate high school at this rate before she finishes.

What do you think is the real reason behind the lack of updates?
From the few lifestreams I would say Inno's echo chamber is poisonous. She is encouraged to chase the lowest quality dopamine by watching content or playing games until her eyes are metaphorically bleeding but that lowest quality dope burns too quick when you don't have any of the longer lasting dopamine from accomplishing work goals or selfcare goals.

Like completely sincerely if Inno is not getting work done they need to turn off the devices, take a shower, brush teeth, go outside, touch grass, talk to people face to face at the market, acquire fresh ingredients, cook a home meal. It doesn't get any code produced but you don't feel like shit at the end of the day.

I had a full-blown laughing fit at 'Dominion porn industry'. Porn exists because people are NOT constantly fucking, there should be flying cars in the game with all the spare post-nut clarity. It was nice to see someone in the post's comments saying to work on the main quest. Ignored by now, I am sure, but still.

It is a little depressing to know how this is all going to end. She will procrastinate on major story updates and keep adding pointless bullshit like recording porn, placing more and more strain onto the aged and withered out-of-date engine she prefers. When she finally bullies herself into adding honest-to-god content, it will all come down like a house of cards in a wind tunnel. And instead of cleaning her code or moving to a new engine, she will just quietly quit. One final deafening silence, to maintain the status quo.

I could be wrong. She could prove me wrong. I would like her to. But...

Lmao "I missed delayed, felt bad for it and then tried to compensate by adding more features" is wild. As if she never promised "I will push the update out regardless of its state by the date X trust" in the past. Now she just framed it like a completely justifiable reason for all delays in the future - "actually I felt bad for yall if I delivered the crap as-is so I'll spend the next 4 months adding even more crap onto the already steaming pile, with a little sprinkle on top". She's doing it for our own good, she should be good too right? Like, Inno didn't delay because of her terrible work ethic, she was just thinking for us all!

Inno's benevolence is just outside of our human comprehension, stop questioning.

You know what? I feel like we are players, so we need content to play. As for Inno, she is FA, so she needs more SEX ART so she can enjoy more in her game than having content to play.

Think of it like having a cake. If you can sell every slice for a buck — no matter how thin you cut it — then why stop at 10 slices? You’d cut 100. Heck, you’d cut 500 if you could. And that’s exactly what’s going on here and there. They’re just slicing the same cake thinner and thinner… and some people are still buying. so, why rush? Yap, I’m looking at ALL those half-baked projects that have been dragging on for over a decade.

I'm just not sure if all the backers actually know the devs are still slicing the cake this thin. if they did, people should've stopped paying for it way back.

Well, I have no expected it, but SubscribeStar user User#ec39f925 has managed to shame Inno into making a proper progress update for once.
And in a shocking development, she "felt bad for missing a deadline", so she decided to add a feature nobody asked for that serves little practical purpose outside feature creep and forcing her to untangle a small part of the messy ball of sodden overcooked spaghetti code... possibly making the mess even worse in the process.

Dang, I didn't even check to see that comment actually turned into an argument.

Nice to see one of Inno's subscribers finally holding her accountable. Not that I think it will change anything, but at least it's in the open now.
Oh if you thought that's bad, you should see how pissed they got when she vanished after the January update for months at a time. The comments on that post were steadily degrading in faith.

I've been following Lilith's Throne for a couple of years now. I've seen all seen most of the drama. The sad thing is that most of the people that start complaining have the memory of a gold fish, two days after the last update they forget just how long they had to wait for said update.

That's a shame tbh, bc seeing the comments on that post in particular as Inno basically forced her subscribers to wait eons bc she "became paralyzed with anxiety" at the idea of doing content enough for an actual update (girl please, literally just write your story for your fucking game...) was cathartic.

A big problem is that Inno runs her discord server like the gme subreddit: A highly insular high control group(cult).
basically it's easy to forget grievances when voicing them gets you banned from the discord or bullied off by people who haven't yet given up on keeping the illusion up.
oops, fixed

I can't help but feel for the bright-eyed fresh supporters who just discovered the game and excitedly ran to support Inno without even checking her update history. Preferably just after an update, not realizing it will be half a year of paying for nothing before she updates again.

Really wish the game dev time could be improved because I like what's here, but the dev is dragging their feet.
