Last update 5 months ago. Is this game dead? That would be sad. I really like it, but I've been waiting until it's 1.0 to play again.
Without an ounce of bitterness or hyperbole, if you're waiting for a 1.0, you'd be better off getting hyped for GTA8. It has a higher chance of releasing, and probably will release earlier if it does.

Hey I've been working on a little combat fix for Lilith's Throne and before I continue, I'd like to gather some feedback on what I already have

Most important gameplay changes:

My goal is not to make the game hardcore, but to make combat feel interactive, so you cannot bulldozer your way through every encounter and instead will have to experiment with different builds and strategies.

Please don't hold back with feedback - every slightest bit of information is useful, even if it seems irrelevant (did anything feel confusing? silly? off-putting? Maybe something seemed strong, but actually wasn't at all? Did some combos feel OP? Etc)
also suggestions of any kind are much appreciated (especially for new moves)

Planned Changes:

P.S. I would appreciate some code revision and tips on how to optimize and make my code cleaner

Any chance for a EXE version with Java built in? I don't have Java installed on my machine and am not really thrilled about the idea of installing it.
If I can't can find a portable version to run it on, what version of Java is your mod running on and 32 or 64 bit?

Pretty sure it's 64 bit (java 8u202, same one as in the original game)
No idea how to turn it into an .exe file, but I'll look into it

Awesome.
I think I have found an option right now (Portable Apps) that should cover that.
My old trick for running the LT JAR doesn't work any more; using the portable version of Java from the loli version and just renaming the JAR. They updated the version of Java on their version and their portable Java no longer works with this game.

If I get it working, I will be happy to report on my feelings opinions of how the combat in the game feels and any bugs I run into.

Well, I banged my head against a couple of the OpenJava versions I could find, JDK and JRE and none of them wanted to play nice with the game.

I did find a 'cluster fuck' of a way to get the game to run though:
Create a new folder.
Copy the contents of the jre1.8.0_172 folder from the EXE version into that new folder. (Not the folder itself, just the files and folders inside that jre folder.
Extract your modded version into the Bin folder of those copied jre files.
Open a Command Prompt and navigate to that \Bin folder.
Enter: Java -jar lt_cmod_edition.jar

Game seems to run just fine like that, but I know, that is a kludgey, half assed, way to do it.
Every other version of Java that I could find (Mostly OpenJava or portable versions), just never opened the game, or it returned errors about JavaFX or complained about missing Java files or could not find a referenced file.
It works, so, fuck it. Imma gonna run with it.

Can't say much about the game yet. I had 3 or 4 fights on that first night in the Arcane storm and futzed around a bit after that. The error log had a few complaints, but nothing bad so far.

the errors are just a few typos I forgot to fix (no functional difference because of closest string match)

regarding the exe, I think I found a way, but I'd have to include jre in the folder too (I wanted to bundle it in with the .exe, but idk how to do that)
I'll upload the .zip with .exe + jre sometime later

Tried using Launch4j to convert the .jar to an .exe and make it look for jre in it's folder. Renaming or moving jre folder anywhere else might cause .exe to not launch
Here's the link with a .rar of .exe + jre

Even though I got bored of this game's drama ages ago, I still for some god damn reason like to check back in on this game every so often. Usually twice a year, right around the time Inno's getting her panic updates in. It's a real shame, it looks like the development problems have only gotten worse since I gave up. Another five months of radio silence? Fucking amazig. The normal "post holiday slacking" update got pushed back three more months? I wonder if she'll even manage two updates this year.

Now what I'm really curious about is if Inno will demand that comments be disabled in this thread before we hit 1000 pages. Don't worry though, it'll only be temporary, just like the blog comments.

Its also neat to see that people are still trying to hack this game into a decent state. And its always interesting that after... uh... hold on I gotta look up my account age... Interesting that after at least six or seven years there are still people trying to make feral characters work lol

Well, I spent some time playing that modded version you made and here are some of my thoughts.

Combat is definitely different. No more OP Soldier, 1-shot everything on the first turn, builds.
I only made two characters, one using the old Soldier Background, plus knuckle dusters and earth pet which kinda sucks (turned it to a tease build) and a second build using the Butler Background and fire damage (feels pretty good).

Hopefully others will try out your modded version and give you their opinion.
My opinion is pretty much 'meh'. Combat is definitely different and not as comical as the OG version, but since I have only sunk 'a few hours' into your mod, as opposed to the original game, I am still trying to settle in with the changes.

You can also try my version, just make sure to pay a visit to Mod Options before starting a new game, since the default minimum age isn't friendly to most folks here.

My version has significant performance improvements and multiple bug fixes that are still pending on official.
Where to find your mods?

It's always fun to check on the progress of this game (or lack thereof).
8th December last update released. By the 25th, the preview update was "ready", Inno just needed a few more days to "finish some writing and bugfixing". Funnily enough, this progress news was repeated if not in the same words, then in spirit on the 14th, 19th, 22nd and 30th January, where the 30th update had a bonus of the ususal "I got stressed by missing a deadline and missed another deadline". This then led to a radio silence that lasts even now, to a point where even some long-time supporters are getting vocal on Subscribestar...

I have a few questions, though

I am intend to rework in-combat Lust altogether to be less of an "alternative health bar" and more of something you can use to weaken your opponent (even if that may go against lore, technically)

I hope more people play my combat mod and share their thoughts, so I can polish it further before expanding

Still waiting for a community to take this game at a stable point from base game and go full trading/prostitution/landlord/slice of life route instead of seeing just some new fur patterns or 1 qurst every 12 months.

in my signature.

As for the other guy working on a mod, you use Launch4J to produce an exe wrapper, which you can either pack the jar + java inside 1 fat exe, pack just the jar inside the exe and provide a folder for Java, or like I did myself tell it what local .jar to launch, and provide the .exe and java folders.
